Also have the pictured one, or possibly the slightly longer one. Usually holds 4 bikes down one side, 2 side by side with front wheels off and bars turned at the back, one with both wheels and seatpost off hung above them, and one with front wheel on at the front. It is quite tight, and a faff to move/assemble/disassemble.

Other side has gardening stuff at the front, and shelving at the back for tools and BBQ etc

Had it for 9 years, and structurally it’s been flawless. And dark. And hot in the summer.

I really wish I had got the slightly wider one. Wouldn’t miss the foot or 18″ or so from the garden, but I would really appreciate some more space inside

TA Axix. Very pricy, but it has replaceable bearings, just takes “standard” cartridge bearings, or, at least, my old one does.

I’ve had one on my fixie for 16 years with about 3 bearing changes.

Reading some of these comments is interesting; I’ve suffered from a lot of these with my visual migraines – but thankfully not for as long or intense. The ‘tripping over words’ one rings true; I know what I want to say, get the first two or three words out and then … just … have … to slow … down.

I’ve found two methods for coping; eyes shut, shut down for a while, then feel ‘hungover ‘and knackered for a day or so
Or, just keep going, keep active – this avoids most the hungover feeling and the knackered feeling, but brings a side order of headache.
Either way, I’m struggling to cope with almost any noise for 12-24 hours. The office is hell.

I think for me it’s hydration; I can get very dehydrated and not realise, then if I drink too much water too quickly I’m at risk. Hyponatremia I guess. So over the last few years, I’ve increased my salt intake in food, and take some electrolyte tablets, which seems to have helped. Knock on effect of reducing postural hypotension which used to floor me – literally, if I couldn’t get to support – probably on a weekly basis. Correlation/causation etc. etc…

My Hario Skerton cost me a lot more than this (£37 rather than ~£20), when I bought it. Been using it pretty much daily for a year now, fairly quick to do a double espresso’s worth, not messy and is consistent.
Could do with a finer adjustment wheel and a cover to stop beans flying out if it wobbles too much.

are you using a normal free wheel at the back with ss spacer kit

Afraid not. White Industries ENO screw on.

Bit of coke can as a shim may save it but if there is any rotational play, you are stuffed ime.

As far as I have noticed, there’s not been any rotational play, just sideways. I’ve pulled it apart and added some shims, and it’s all turning freely again, but it’s too wet to go for a pedal to see if it will hold. (If they are ruined, might as well try…)

    Are you running triple? singlespeed?

SS with a non dished Homebrewed ‘uno’ ring, so no options for flipping and reversing.

Try a bb with slightly longer spindle …

Longer BB will give chainline issues. As it is, it’s only ok with the cranks right next to BB. 73mm BB shell… :-( (I could get 5 mm taken off the frame… :-/ )

Can’t face writing them off for a few thou. clearance.

Either keep trying to sort them, spending hours and messing up every ride,

I take your point, but they don’t come loose every ride. ~One in five, which these days, would be about annually…

I think this might not be possible – or at least, there is potential for one lookup value to match to more than one value from the lookup array.

With the above example, suppose A9 was ’40 30′ the correct result would need to be both ‘two’ and ‘three’…

I’ll try to think of a way. I’m not promising though!

I had to move to Cambridgeshire in 2012; property prices means I’m in the Fens too. Only get to go mountain biking a handful of times a year, and always with a (hefty) drive. Spend loads more time on the road bike. But when I do ride mountain bikes, I make sure I make the most of it. :-)

If there was an option, I wouldn’t have moved here. But there wasn’t. Life goes on.

is there a way to set it up so that the lookup array has the multiple values?

Do you mean the cells in A9:A12 have multiple values, and if any of those values appear in the range A1:B3 to return the relevant match?

    Militant_biker

IF I’ve interpreted your description correctly, how about an INDEX MATCH using a wildcard concatenation on your match value? Values must be formatted as text.

Lookup array is A1:B3, with 2 matchable values in A1
Lookup values are in A9:A12 with results in B9:B12

Another £10/Month Spotify. Signed up years ago as it was the only way to stream music in the USA – get a UK Premium account, allowed unlimited access from abroad and the offline features.

The vast majority of my recent music is Spotify only. If I hear an artist/album I really want to support, I’ll buy on CD or download as well, but continue to listen on Spotify. If they ever stop the service I’ll have a huge gap in my collection (all logged through Last.fm), but without doubt I prefer the Spotify method, over buying CDs or downloading. I’ve discovered much more new (to me) music that I wouldn’t have found otherwise.

    A little less rebound damping?

I ‘retired’ an old shirt because it got too stinky too quickly, but I didn’t want to throw out (96 or 97 Mint Sauce one!). Popped it in a drawer and forgot about it; after a few years it ‘recovered’ and is back in rotation now.

    You did?

Yup. I can’t find the thread in the BikeMagic archives, so here it is…

I went for a Hario Skerton ceramic burr hand grinder, (was £38 when I bought it, £24 now). It gets through beans in good time, even to an espresso grind.

It’s not perfect – the steps between settings are a little coarse, and apparently the lack of bearing below the burr is a bad thing, but I’ve got used to it and make shots I’m happy with, day in day out.

Had a Canon Pixma MX350 for a year when I moved out of the country. Good little unit. Quick to print and scan wirelessly

Bought my mother a bigger Pixma, and even she could get it set up.

But I use a venerable old Canon wired printer, plugged into an old Mac Mini, set up as a shared printer and as a google cloud printer. It takes an age for it to start printing, but as I have walk upstairs anyway it’s hardly an issue.

I’m a non winner (obviously) as I use cyclemeter.

I’m quite happy to not win with Cyclemeter. (Also thinking about adding a HRM strap to enhance it)

Didn’t notice much difference on my 4 at first. But after a few weeks it slowed up a fair bit. Sorted it out by uninstalling and reinstalling a bunch of apps with big caches, and with regular and frequent background app killing.

It still seems quite variable, but even when it’s bad, it’s not that bad…

Having worked in a Wetherspoons “kitchen”, the only saucepan you’re likely to find is the one that has the peas in, kept hot in simmering water, for hours…

I’ve got some of those Outlier trousers. Very good they are too. I did use to use them for the full 6 miles to the station, and then for a mile at the other end, as there were no changing facilities. These days I only really ride in them when I’m going between sites – so 5 minute rides.

But they come in right handy after a post work pint, and I can’t be bothered to change in the pub for the ride home.

Depending on what you use for RAW conversion, you may be able to correct for some lens distortion using library settings. I use Camera Raw within Photoshop CS6, along with a lens profile via Adobe Lens Profile Downloader to correct for a good amount of distortion, vignetting and chromatic aberrations.

I was also a fan of leaving the shutter open for ages to compensate for poor light, but was frustrated by noise. Someone told me it was the long exposure and heat effects. After I bought more light, shooting at the same ISO rating, for less time, things got less noisy.

I had a nasty wart on my finger that resisted many trips to the doctors, and sessions with the over-the-counter treatments, tried trimming it with scalpels etc. A GP friend recommended just getting the doctor to leave the CO2 thingamy on for longer. Well, it turns out I have a higher pain threshold than she had theconfidence to keep it on. So it remained.

I then used a drill bit, the kitchen stove, and some pliers. Heated the bit up till it was burny hot, applied to finger until I couldn’t take the pain. Waited for scab to drop off, and repeat. Gone in 2 sessions.

Obviously, I wouldn’t recommend this course of action, as the potential for injury is moderately high – but it worked for me :-)
