Poc vpd 2.0 for uplift days, tld kg5400 for trail riding

    I bought these; http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/322323532766?_mwBanner=1

Which is a bargain if you’re a medium.
Check the sizing chart as it’s a bit off compared to other brands- I had take the top in by 1/2 an inch with my sowing skillz

“specialized do a steerer expander plug (carbon and alloy steerer options) that has an integrated chain breaker inside. Quite fancy one but £25 per bike is a bit of an expense.”

    £11.99 before postage.

    Yes,
Was an awesome project a few summers ago.
Would be a good winter project too as long as you have somewhere warm to work (and to allow the epoxy to go off properly)
Probably cost around £250 in materials in the end as I made mine in two halves (stainless steel joining hardware costs alot), you could do it for around £200 if you did it conventionally..

The prospector is a great canoe, have used mine with an outboard for some cool sea trips around Plymouth

I recently bought an A6 with only 1 key,

£200 for a “remote” style spare, or £90 for a plastic wallet type spare.

Went for the wallet type and added key cover to my insurance policy for £1.20 a month.

Also got a local key place to cut a copy of the key (£15) to just open/lock the doors for when doing watersports etc.

My old Audi A6 C5 shape 2.5tdi, original clutch. 2nd hand gearbox @250k

Eventually sold at around 285k for £320 on the bay… bloke who bought it was going to use the engine for his A4!

Current A6 C6 shape 2.0tdi currently has 207k on it, but not convinced it’ll match it’s predecessor..

Sounds like bad advice from the trader who we (wife) bought the car from… FWIW I drove the car home 3rd party under my policy in the end.

Thinking about it now, whilst I’m definitely insured to drive another vehicle 3rd party with the owners consent, I’m not sure if the car had to be insured by someone for that to be valid.

If you know you’re definitely going to buy the car, getting another policy would work and undoubtedly be cheaper than changing your current policy.

The only issue is you would have two insurance policies for 2 cars and no claims for only one (until you sold your other car). And if you cancelled the old policy for the old car and hadn’t sold it, you would need to SORN it meaning no one could test drive it (legally)

    Went through this a few months ago with a small independent trader who used to manage a large dealership. Basically it comes down to what’s reasonable, his advice was;

is it reasonable that you buy a car at the weekend?

Yes it is, and it’s not your fault that your insurance company doesn’t have a facility to provide you service at the weekend.

Wrote an email to the insurance company stating the new car details and when bought and that id be in contact when they reopened.

He was insistent that the car had to be taxed before driven off though. Very easy to do using their automated service, no problem with insurance, I’m not sure it’s linked anymore as anyone buying a car would have a nightmare with systems updating (or not)

West Systems, SP, or any other ‘boat building’ type resin is nothing like Araldite in actual use.

Boat building resins are low viscosity (think olive oil) and are a fraction of the cost of Araldite. Araldite is more like cold honey.

30ml of araldite = £8, 300ml of west epoxy = £18 (buy in bulk and it goes down to about half that price/vol.

But then again, you probably don’t need much.

    1) Do NOT cut this bit out
    4) Maybe cut this bit out, but the trail on the way ‘out’ is very good.

    Stoner,

Yeah the exhaust into the water worked a treat for this engine, very loud when it skips out of the water though! (2stroke which like a bit of back pressure).

However the ‘newest’ version is a 4-stroke which didn’t like the restricted exhaust very much, so I’ve moved it to be above water, interestingly with no noticeable noise increase.

These strimmer engines are used a lot in model boats, so there are a few specially designed props for them – i.e. props for very high revving low torque engines.

Cruises at around 5/6mph with 3 adults and 1/3 throttle, does 4-5km on 0.5Litres of fuel.

Funnily enough I was inspired by the Thai riverboats, – went on loads as a kid.

yes, they are very comfortable to ride once you get used to the ‘sit up and beg’ position.

Ref brakes, yeh, there was a light sprinkling this morning and I did notice their effectiveness drop off dramatically!

The tyres on the man version are fairly old, not sure if they are the original though.

the ladies version has new tyres, but they were on it when I bought it.

These by the looks of it:

Eurocarparts / GSF etc etc. £1.20 for Lucas H1/H4 bulbs which appear identical to the £10 offerings @ Halfords etc.

EDIT: Not that cheap online for some reason, but in the store they have a ‘bulb stand’ where they are dirt cheap.

lol, yep pretty much. I’d be pretty miffed if I started out with a geared bike too!

You save say a hundred grams?

    XT cassette = 300g, 3 small cogs = 50g? (250g saving)
    XT 9spd Shifter = 125g, fork lockout = 25g? (100g saving)

350g saving being optimistic? 300g saving being Cynical?

    75g penalty over pure SS?

True, I suppose it is just a bike with 3 gears
