if you like the colours get one painted like that
change the name or leave it out though

If you keep the name, it’s fake and the only reason to keep the name is to make people think you are riding the original which is a bit sad imo

i’d love to know how far these frames are from the real deal in terms of construction my guess is that they are pretty close

I had to replace a run of fencing about 15m long

most of the tricky bit doing mine was getting old concrete out from the ground where a few new posts had to go (another tip is to start with half panel then you miss the old concrete..)

measure, dig a few holes, put post crete in, level, add weather boards then fence panels on top. then paint/weatherproof. 15m took me a weekend with a bit of help….

If I were to have to plan the job again I’d sit drinking tea watching someone else do it (:

broke mine a while ago – recovery really depends how badly you’ve done it.
Apparently this bone doesn’t get much blood flow so healing takes a while

I got a wrist support with metal plate under the hand/palm which let me get back on bike a bit quicker – didn’t have it pinned or anything like that. Think I was hands off bike for 8 weeks and ~11 weeks before I was shredding the gnar again.

you can still ride a turbo if you are bothered about losing fitness.
    Good luck!

wow – thanks for sharing that

the quarry video further down the page is imo even more impressive

I’ve done a chest cam vid of me mincing down a 1m drop and it looks like a kerb in the vid, so the jumps those guys are hitting must be rather large indeed given the camera flattens it all out and they look flipping massive in the vid

can’t embed it but this one

Been running grips 1.5cm past bar ends for a while – make sure you still use bar plugs
I crashed recently and the bars whacked the ground with some force and carbon bars and grips remained intact and in place. The butt bar plug was all broken up though

I use threshold 80% of the time and open the other 20% for gnarr downhill.
The threshold gives a bit more pop for jumpy, uppy then downy then uppy type trails, IMO

yoga for the win. it helped me no end. might start going again. it is massively harder work than you’d think.

agreed – hard physically and for the class I was in, quite hard to concentrate also….. 😀

OP – It’s weird – for me the best cure for lower back pain is riding my bike – it seems to stretch my spine out and let everything click back into place. Just trying to say that there is no one size fits all cure.

Hope you find a way to manage the pain and get your riding fix too

cheers will – if it’s 120 BCD and 39 tooth (ish) I’ll take it

just to clarify X0 on my posh bike was 104BCD and X9 on my slightly less posh bike is 120BCD

its the 120mm BCD rings that seem hard to find for reasonable cost

    cheers for the replies

I could go for the north shore billet one but that plus 2x chain rings would be more expensive in the short term.

I think it might actually have to be a new chain set! That’s really wasteful. ):

When my X0 chainring went I found a 104mm middleburn ring with no problem but seems like this 120mm is an odd size.

On the building site near us I’ve seen the workmen wearing hard hats to protect against falling bricks and debris. Is that an option?

    100% yes from me.

I have both on different bikes and can really tell the difference – the carbon ones are much nicer with no harshness

If I had the $ I’d replace the alloy in a shot

sounds like the bulbs to me – maybe splash out on one of these for a comparison test while you keep replacing the others through warranty.

I have some and they are great so far – also 3 year guarantee.

Warm white for the kitchen and cool white for bathroom – the cool white is very very bright – like an operating theatre kind of light

    paddleships

the paddle does have advantages such as being able to use with quite a shallow draft but for me the propellor will always be a more efficient means of aquatic propulsion

Heater fan unit resistor pack on a Vauxhall Vectra. Buried so far into the guts of the dashboard that it takes a mechanic an hour to replace it. – Rubbish

Can Swinley still be ridden at night?

Wondering what happens if you were to get lost off the exceedingly well signed trail. I imagine it would take quite a bit of exploration to get back to the exceedingly well signed trail.

I once took Natalie Imbruglia’s dog for walk.

I sat next to her in the audience of an episode of ‘this is your life’ filming.
Half way through the filming, she went green, was sick and had to leave.

it might not be your stat that is the problem…

over the weekend our own heating system refused to turn off (boiler kept burning). a bit of googling showed that the 2x automatic honeywell diverter valves we have can cause this if they stick. Bit of ‘persuasion’ and it’s now back to normal.

If you have them – check your diverter valves. Ours are little silver boxes connected in pipework located near the electronic control panel for DHW/central heating. If the little external lever can be moved by hand with no resistance it’s a sign the valve is stuck. If you move the external lever on the valve from ‘auto’ to ‘manual’ and it moves back to ‘auto’ by itself chances are they are working and it’s another problem.

just an idea – I’m certainly not a heating engineer so might have it wrong

I thought telegraph was a straight line? 😕

Strictly speaking anyone has just as much right (no right at all?) to block a cheeky trail as we have to dig and sculpt a trail

Thanks for clearing it for other riders. if you catch someone booby trapping a trail, count to 10 before you kick them 😀 http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/road-rage

    red Darth Vader lunchbox!
shouldn’t Darth Vader lunchboxes be black?

Hmm, an interesting conjecture. I reckon the red was probably implemented as a nod towards the empire’s choice of light sabre colours.

OP – It sounds to me like the head has taken a dislike to your family. If I saw someone do that to one of my kids I would take follow up action with the local authority, as others have suggested.

Problem is – if your kids are happy in the school, are you prepared to move them? Your relationship with this head teacher sounds strained now. Would she be professional enough to treat your children impartially after you start a complaint about her? On the info you have given so far I doubt it.

best of luck – hope you get to resolve this distressing situation with minimal impact to kids and school
