Another one for Wakefield here, although I vote London too. Its also seems like the worst city is where you live, and most cities (city centres) are pretty grim and only getting worse!

If you had a day off work and had to spend it in a city you would rather do it in Wakefield than London?

If you were to pick somewhere for a day out you would choose to visit London over Wakefield for what it has to offer tourism wise, but surely the point made above was more like would you rather live in Wakefield or London? (By the way I have lived in both)

    2nd Saturday in a row here too(Wakefield).
Is it just me or does anyone else find it extremely satisfiying being the first to smash through the ice on a puddle?

For me the screen protector is a must, the silicon case I don’t think it does much but having it in a bright colour does help you find it if you knock it off. Normally when I loose a bit of traction and lurch forwards a bit knocking my knee into it.

Just read the other thread above and wondered whether putting a bit of sticky back velcro on the round bits would help, anyone tried that?

I know a few years ago, the pubs near me used to shut for a couple of hours (sure it was 5-7 or something), as a way to stop people being out drinking all day after finishing work early.

You may have been unlucky with the time.

I’ve just read now, that the shimano hollowtech 2 spanner will fit a sram gxp bottom bracket so I’m pretty sure you’ll be ok

Even though it says shimano I think you would still be ok with sram components too. I can’t be 100% sure though.

    Try this one
    http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/TOJWTK/jobsworth-shimano-specific-18-piece-cycle-tool-kit
It looks the same as the one I have, (an x-tools) and I have built up a couple of bikes now with only needing some cable cutters.

I did it about a month or so ago for the first time, I’m carrying a good 3 to 4 stone extra padding too. And strava clocked me as 3 and a quarter hours moving time, although it took me just over 4 hours in total. To be honest I enjoyed it, although there are quite a lot of flat sections towards the end where I didn’t have the energy to get the most out of them.

When pricing stuff up, try doing a search on ebay and then just showing the completed/sold listings rather than the current ones. It should give you a rough idea of how much things are going for.

I saw this doing the rounds on facebook earlier, it made me laugh but then I’m from Yorkshire.

As above, It could also be that the pistons were not pushed back in too as they would have been pushed out as the old pads had worn. If you are not confident with the fixes mentioned above I would take it back to your shop.

What about wearing a belt if it is only one size? One of those canvas style soft belts with loops rather than a buckle?

Speaking about the garmin edge 810 here so I guess it may have slightly improved, I found that using it like a sat nav is fine on road (not used it too much for that though).
Using it off road it is possible depending on what type of route file you have there seems to be quite a few different formats and some work better than others (If I have an option I will use a Gpx Track), however I have never really got on with it I normally just turn the route I am following onto visible so that it is always visible over the map, and a quick look down at each junction/fork and 95% of the time you know which way you should be going. The other times if you move slowly down the way you think within about 10 yards you know whether you have picked the right one or whether you should turn back.

@MrNice Don’t suppose you have any more information about the wet weather route do you? I’ve tried looking in the trail guide but can’t see anything.

Found the same on the iOS app, so seems that way.

thanks njee20, it’s a shame as I find it most useful, nowhere near any KOMs for me.

In an old version of singletrack mag there was a Garforth loop included, I’ve never done it myself so don’t know what it was like. I’ll find out what issue later on tonight for you. There was also the wild boar challenge that set off from rothwell and went up towards Garforth and across to temple Newsam, it was a nice route but nothing really challenging. The route map is on there Web site if you want a look.

Going back to viewing your all your own previous times on a segment, I can’t find a way of doing it on the android app, but I know how to do it on the Web version. So is it only possible on the Web version?

    @cookeaa
Speaking of the testing I saw a video of one of the legit bar companies adding weights on each side of the bar and dropping it from a set height multiple times. I think it was on BikeRadar a couple of weeks back on the top 10 Carbon bars or something. I can’t find the link though. And not sure how relevent the testing will be.

Also I get what your saying about comparing the price and saying it’s like comparing a Daewoo with a Porsche, but isn’t the point of the Chinese bars meant to be that they would be at the same price point if made in UK factories?

Anyway I will have another look for the bar test video for anyone interested.

I could be interested in one of the frames from someone or something similar, ideally a Large, but if your willing to post yours IA, I could be interested if you have any pics that you could send. (Email in my profile)

My orders have always come standard Royal mail post. So based on other deliveries from the royal mail I believe it is not all down to just the courier.

I agree the delivery is super quick I’ve ordered stuff a few times from them, and it always arrives the next day.

I think some of the shots are done with bits of wire or something the air shots anyway, each of the photos would then be edited to remove the wires and add the dust effects etc. It takes some doing and would take some serious amount of time. Its really well done!

No definitely not in a bag or pocket, as I never took it off the bike, I don’t think anyone could have had it, my bike never really gets left anywhere. I’m going to try retrace my last couple of routes but it will be over the course of this week, so I doubt I will see it again, the routes I have done recently are only flat old railway lines so nothing to even bump it off!

Fireman Sam would be a good one too! You’d have to watch for Norman he’d be the one placing branches and rocks in the trail to stop you riding, if they knocked you off you’d have to be rescued by fireman Sam! Then at the end fireman Sam could give his little speech about how dangerous it is to leave things in the trail.

We had a problem that sounds similar in that our shower would flash the overheat light and then just cut out, it turned out to be a blockage in the hose going to the shower head, we got a new decent hose and all has been well since.
