Bez, thanks mate, that is what I thought it probably meant… She doesn’t strike me as a particularly forward girl…

I was out on my bmx again…I did a big one hander over the hip at camden bowl! Shortly followed a rather harsh flat landing from about 6 feet up!

Jedi – Friday may be good for me. Depends on work really

I think im going to go to a few bowls, with vert transitions, just not as high and drop into those properly first. Bmx is great _tom_ but the bike makes a big difference to how it feels in my experience. What about a 24 inch cruiser? Its a bit of a comprimise but you can do a lot on them? Or a large top tube with big bars? I was riding a xxl deluxe with MASSIVE bars for a while which was certainly more stable than my current bike, and i think it helped at first coming from a mtb background…

Paul Jones, thats the one. I really want to ride it again now, I may go friday, or if not the weekend.

It made all the other quarters there feel tiny afterwards.

Nah, not this time… Just pedalling from the bottom. Paul robinson was there, and he reckons to drop in from the corner onto the resi first few times, as it helps get used to being near the edge.

Dropping in to that ramp looks terrifying to be honest.

Im goign to go back next time with my dh body armour I think…

Oh i keep on meaning to tell you about this – http://extremeconnexions.tumblr.com/

what new park? where are you based exactly?

I’d say go out of town with the ramps, people will come to ride. whereas your average joe isnt going to walk past and buy a 60 pound pair of handlebars or a a 100 pound pair of cranks….

A decent ramp in the back of the shop, it will bring in punters, riders, help with promotion. Look at the empire shop, probably the only shop to have videos of tom dugan, chase hawk, etc riding their ramp… a sofa with a tv and dvds, plus a kettle and cold drinks to buy? I have been to 3 bmx shops really so ill give my opinions on them all.

rad bmx – A decent shop, the owner is very friendly, and i buy most stuff from there. Plus points are he is very good with prices, will instal compnents etc for you if he has time, and is just a nice guy. He has a good team as well. Minus, not the best stock levels so not a huge ammount of choice ( enough though). It kinda doesnt feel like a ‘riders shop’.

Custom riders – Only really two impressions- A HUGE ammount of stock, but the staff were a bit unfriendly.

Volt BMX – AGood shop, a shop run by bmxers for bmxers. Not got loads of stock either, but there’s allways people just hanging out having a good time. I think i’ll use them more in the future

Thanks for the comments, I need bolts as both my front and rear axles are female, The front is definitely 10, the rear might actually be a a bit smaller than 14, now i think about it, M12 maybe. I'm going to go and pick up some 8.8 one in an hour or so, after looking around i'm sure they will be strong enough…

For me, seeing the pros was never a big influence, although its good to see how they ride. The person who was the single biggest influence is my old boss, Chris Trippet. He was and i presume still is a fast, aggressive rider and the first time i rode both dh and xc with him blew me away. He was pedalling round corners i was braking into, and i wasnt a slow beginner. I must try to get out for a pedal with him again.

At the moment, just the guys i'm riding bmx with, it's shown me that cycling should be all about having fun, and pushing your own personal boundarys, what everyone else is doing doesnt matter.

Crawley is amazing to ride slightly easier to air than saffron walden… The one in Brighton isn't that great really. The ramps are really spread out although they are well built…

There was one being built at Hastings as well, which looks good. Not sure if it's finished yet…
