I’ve mainly been using strava alongside Bing (OS maps) for my plotting lately, but this looks good and will give it a try soon… cheers OP

I bought the Rock Bro’s bell, but it gave up on me after a couple of months, so I asked for the SpurCycles one as a birthday present – it’s been brilliant.

Do fancy trying a Timber bell too, but with a lifetime guarantee on the Spurcycle’s one, not sure I’ll need another

official long stay car parks every time for me… when I lived ~10 miles away, it was still cheaper than the local taxi firms

Thanks for that info maxtorque – out of interest, how would you get then back out if they needed servicing again?

I think I’ll consider using thread lock or similar as a first option, and just listen for the creaking to start up again.

Man – that sucks… will keep an eye open… hope you get the bikes back, and the scroats get what they deserve too

Bike’s in the car, but just can’t seem to get my mojo together to get excited and decide where to take it for a spin.

Nice one guys – it’s cool when the kids get on new bikes and just grin from ear to ear

I’m based near Hampton Court, and mainly head over to Princes Coverts / Esher Common… but would be good to ride a little further and meet up with a few other STW’ers for some gravel track riding

MTB after work at Swinley – hoping it’s drained a bit after rain at the weekend

My bike riding this was done earlier in the week, as I had some time off work and family stuff going on this weekend… Favourite trip was from a trip inspired by the fact I saw ‘Watership Down’ was a real place, and Coombe Gibbet not far away.

So jumped on a train to Basingstoke and loaded up the Croix de Fer for a top day out mainly on bridleways; some of it was slow riding, but the big skies were fantastic.

https://www.utagawavtt.com is not bad, mostly xc stuff really

If I finally get around to taking the bikes to France, this link is perfect – thanks :)

ZippyK – is it the soundbar that’s going back?

I bought the same one, and although overall happy, it has some sound distortion issues, wondered if you had the same issue.

I’ve enjoyed the second half of the tour… even though after the race nothing much seems to have changed each day, there seems to have been lots of promise and possibilities.

I like the idea of binning the power meters, HRM’s, and/or radios. Any of these will re-introduce uncertainty for the riders and likely result in more opportunities being taken / missed

Couldn’t find any rubber glue in the local shop, but a littel ptfe tape and more stans milk in there and seems to be holding pressure again.

Thanks again for the input guys

    My guess is yes OTT

I’m assuming you don’t normally take junior to school, and the other parents are maybe just checking in, as they feel that they ought to as if it was something untoward they’d feel awful for not saying anything. Maybe they exaggerated a bit too – mums seem to like a drama

In my experience, putting a few hours in between any event like this and any reactions always helps

I walked from my last job after talking with the management to explain how I felt. The first time I spoke with them they made the right noises so I hung around. Unfortunately it was clear fairly quickly that nothing was changing, so the second time I spoke to them was simply to state that I was off (after working my notice), no further discussion.

I worked my notice, and didn’t have a job to go to; I wanted to take a few months off after working near on 12 years with the same company.

Fortunately my industry was still ticking over nicely and I had a choice of places to go. Even if I was wanting to move onto pastures new, with the current oil price I wouldn’t consider it without another job lined up.

Bottom line OP is that I’d check out the marketplace for what you’re wanting to do before making any moves.

I’ll have a look at the valve again tonight. I do use an it of ptfe, but looks like rubber glue is the next step

We set up our Echo last night too.
I’ve already lost control to the little fella – 9 years old and his tech-integration skills are way beyond mine already.

Missus is still suspicious of it, and I’m not sure she’ll ever be best friends with Alexa.

Overall we like it, but I was disappointed it wouldn’t do stuff like tell me when the next bus was.

I’ve slowly swapped motorbikes for cycles over the years, but occasionally this creature awakes from a long winter slumber… still scares the crap out of me, but I love it !

The car also had a neat party trick of ‘hopping’ six inches to the left or right over certain sized bumps which made me crap myself the first time it did it!

took me a while to get my 20five’s to seal around the valve.

… I switched to Stan’s fluid and re-taped then they sealed no bother
(on Nano 40’s and running at ~40psi)

I’d go back to spd’s if I wasn’t worried about being stuck on the bike again after fluffing a little hop with spd’s, resulting in skiers thumb.

Totally agreed Northwind, which is why I’m going to have a pop at that 12 ride course.
I do know the issue is with my riding, and I’m looking to learn how to ride better.

What’s the issue with flats ? I almost feel like i’m missing out on something here as i only ever use flats.

For me it’s down to anytime the bike leaves terra firma, I feel like I lose the pedals – not a problem for those occasions I want red streaked shins.

Look up the Ryan Leech 12 week flat pedal course

cheers – I’m going to give this a bash and see if I can improve my confidence riding on flats
