    What about ~

When I bought some wheels, the rims were very tight and my usual race tyres, Michelin Pro’s, just wouldn’t fit on at all, I found Schwalbe were a slightly looser fit, so those are the tyres I now use.

As you’ve said, the last thing you want is to struggle to get tyres off in winter.
Take them down to your LBS and ask if you can try tyres out to see what make fit the easiest.

If you’re going to give it go repairing it yourself, get a carbon repair kit (they’re not expensive) because the resin is much strong than most stuff you can buy locally and you need that because its part of the braking surface and you don’t want it pealing off.

    Edit:
I see you’re in Edinburgh, if you want, bring it to me and I’ll have a look.

Always use tubs for racing, that way you don’t have to worry about pinch flats.
Nothing worse than going well in a race and getting a pinch, and being out the race because there are half a dozen riders who have had the same happen just before you, and service takes ages to get to you!

Put a bit of Stans or similar in the each tub, that way it should seal up any sharp objects that might get in.

I saved up enough off-cuts over the years to join them all together to make a new chain, it worked fine, so Im sure yours will be fine.

35.4 mech, what info do you need for BB?
I just used an old ISIS BB in mine.

Just make sure you phone up every year or two and haggle the price down, if you don’t, they just keep increasing it.

I had that with one, but I did as you did and tightened the screw and that fixed the problem.

I have used lightweight rotors for years without any issues until I tried ceramic pads on them, despite the shop saying “Reduces damage to rotor“.
I still use them on my lightweight 29er.

It is great and would highly recommend it, you can also get the same one with WiFi for not much more, if you needed it.
Ive not emptied the battery yet as I usually run it from the mains, but I just did a wee test and it was still going after 3hrs before I plugged it back in. The Low Battery warning came up before I switched it back to the mains.

The projection is nearly 1:1, as I now have a 100″ projector screen in my living room, its about 8 feet away and it fills it perfectly.
It is probably powerful enough to project onto a 200″ screen if you wanted!

You can use small battery packs to run it if you need a bit extra runtime without using the mains.

    Any update?

I haven’t read the specs but I expect the front to be worse as it is more powerful.

No, they’re both the same power.
The red filter for the rear is what saps the light output from it.

My comets easily last a full week of commutes (5 x 65 mins) on constant low.
I do have it paired with an exposure Flare, so if one runs out of power, the other will have enough power to get me home.

That would be about right, as the ebay ones runtime is quoted at 6hr 20mins on low.
I have two off the ebay ones on the rear of my bike, as you said, in case one runs out or fails. Hasn’t happened yet though.

Ive been using that type for the last year, and because they’re cheap enough, I have several pairs.
They are now just a generic type and everyone sells them ~ cheaper on ebay.

They’re the only rear light I use on my bikes now.
I was a bit worried about the shorter runtime, but I only use/need medium flashing and you get around 5-6hrs. You just need to remember to charge them after a ride or two.

I really like these because they have a 160-180 degree beam display/angle instead of the usual one that just put out as much light one one direction.

They are also good for group rides, as you can lower the power and not blind your mate who is riding on your wheel.

Oh, I tested them till they run out and I found that the light went dimmer and didn’t just die leaving you with no light.

You have no proof that the buyer got the item, so I can see no reason PP wont refund the buyer if they say they never got it.
Your contract is with PF, and you will have to claim your money back from them if the buyer claims not to have go it.

I have got my money back after ordering from ebay and the items didn’t show up before the protection ran out.

You could try cooking or blow torching them!
My friends discs were making an awful racket and the braking power was way down, so as I tried the usual cleaning, sanding etc… and nothing worked, I took the blow torch to them and burned of any contaminates that were on them. I also put new pads on, and now they are whisper quiet and stop instantly.

Do any of the other ride loggers allow you to track miles done on separate bikes and individual pieces of equipment tyres, chain etc…?
For me, that is one of the best features on Strava after pushing myself for the KOMs and making me fitter.

You can turn Flybys off and if a ride is made Private, nobody can see it.

If you do get cold hands, I would really recommend some bar muffs.
I got a cheap pair for about £10 last winter and they were probably the best cycling purchase I have ever made!
I usually only have to put some thin fingerless glove on when it get below -5 or, if its a bit warmer because my hands get a bit sweaty.

Im guessing the lumens figures on those are similar to the Chinese bike lights.
I am sure I read a review of similar projectors advertising the same lumens figures and they put out around 3-10% off the advertised rating!!

What do you mean 30 days?
Are you saying if you haven’t spent it, then you lose it?
I have a Tesco PAYG which I have had for a long time, and only top it up once or twice a year.

It seems strange, but why a scam, are they only allowed to sell certain stuff?
Email or call them to find out.

For $80 you aren’t going to get something bright enough for daylight hours, but it should be fine if you want to watch stuff when its dark/darker.
I think you need at least 2500 lumens to watch stuff in the home during daytime, I would imagine you would need a hell of a lot more outside.

I have this impressive wee guy.
I bought it to watch movies in a dark room with a 100″ screen and it is perfect for that. It could definitely be used for a larger screen, but it’ll get more washed out the bigger you go.
I have used it on a friends wall which gave it around an 8 foot across screen and it was pretty awesome.
For sound, I just use the head phone jack and connect up some 2.1 computer speakers, which gives plenty of sound.

At the moment, I am actually using it as my TV, because my actual TV broke!
I have it connected up to my Virgin box with HDMI, and while I can watch it during the day, it just isn’t powerful enough for a really clear picture with the 40″ size I have it projected at, but at night its fine.

You can buy 100-120″ screens from ebay for around £60, less if you are happy with just wall mounted ones.

I am thinking of getting a similar $80 one like yours to possibly use as my TV, so I will watch this thread to see how you get one with yours 🙂

    5 chains!
I had to leave my chain on my OO Fatty I got in December because when I checked it after 1000 miles, it was past the 1% mark.
I am now close to 4000 miles and although the gear changes can be a bit sloppy (they weren’t great to start with!), it still isn’t slipping.
I put my Fatty through quite a lot of hard big gear riding which includes hard fast chaingangs, so it hasn’t had an easy life.

You have to weigh up how much all the chains are costing, compared to changing everything after it starts slipping and becoming unusable.

Leg press/squat and hamstring curl are the main ones for your legs.
Push-up,pull-up sit-ups are the other main for top half.
Also, if you do a lot of cycling, you will not turn into the hulk just by doing gym work, which seems to be the thing thats puts people off.

unovolo, you’re totally wrong about the Dogma on the down tube, or there are a lot of fakes on ebay!

Nobody seemed to mention, but surely the most blindingly obvious reason its fake, it the fact it has a cheap/bottom of the range groupset and not a Record/Dura-Ace as you would expect.

Have anyone report it as a fake yet?

If he was a pro, he probably doesn’t give a shit about Strava, and just uses it to record his ride time/miles/hours, like a lot of people.
FYI, pro’s do a fair amount of motor pacing, I used to do it to, long before Strava though.
Flag his ride, Im sure he wont care.

The more that comes about about this guy, the more it makes me want him to spend the rest of his life in jail because he clearly doesn’t give a shit about the people he killed and cant wait to get behind the wheel again!

THE DRIVER of a Glasgow bin lorry that veered out of control killing six people asked for his HGV licence to be restored less than four months after the fatal crash, an inquiry has heard.

Irrespective of privacy settings folk can look at individual rides all they want. Check any segment leaderboard and click on one of the times.

Which is exactly the reason you need to make sure you have set up a privacy zone!
Also, they cant see anything if you block them.

All of you have have your rides open for everyone to see, I hope you have at least made your home private so nobody can see where your bikes live?!
