I suppose I should be grateful that my kids did make the effort to text me this afternoon…

I do delight in calling a cheery”morning” or better still “lovely day” with a big smile when I think a roadie is going to ignore me 😀

As someone who has no interest in cars whatsoever, that looks just like a million and one other cars to me – and anyway, aren’t all cars ugly??

Due to an imminent house move, we’ve just got rid of lots of LPs to a local record shop – quickest £120 I’ve ever made 😀

Wine glasses? What’s wrong with tunblers? They don’t need refilling so often.

    It’s my real name…

… well maybe not, the title was bestowed upon me by a very dear friend (who passed away far too young, 12 years ago) who was known as the Earl of Cambridge (maybe not his real name either). It referred to where I lived at the time.

What a shame, we’ve just thrown out t’other half’s old school satchel – real vintage too. Could have sold it to Kryton for loadsamoney.

Mid 70s for me, the days of punched tapes and cards. We had a ten minute, once a week chance to run the programmes we’d written. via a terminal to Stafford Uni. If it didn’t work, no problem, you had a week to put it right before you could try it again. I couldn’t believe how simple programming has become, having done an HND in computing a few years ago.

Two way light switches (y’know, like you get in the hall/stairs/landing), switch on downstairs, then switch off upstairs – it leaves both switches the wrong way, aaarrrgghh!!!

A real life post I read today, and struggled to make sense of!
I sore this web site on a progam I was watching that tells you what the tipical type of person that likes someone or something. Being a Geocacher I wondered if I was a tipical Geocacher, but is turns out I I don’t fit many, if any of the cariteristics.”

    Eh???

Have a look at Dunelm Mill – ready made curtains cheap, but ok quality. And, yes, double the width for your curtain size.

Since I passed my test in 1975, just the four:-

    Renault 6
    Sierra
    Mondeo estate
    Astra

So I’ve had way more bikes* than cars 🙂

*That’s proper bikes, not those horrible noisy things with engines!

Two that fit properly, and three that don’t fit properly, so don’t get worn.

You can buy seam tape from either Point North Fabrics or Pennine Outdoors – sorry, can’t remember which has it, or maybe both do! Otherwise seam sealant glue-type stuff would stick the existing tape back, like this
The tape will need ironing on, so may depend on the fabric it’s going on to!

If you have a round head, then there’s no end of choice of helmets. If you have an oval head, then it’s very limited, mainly Specialized but especially Lazer – they fit me so well that I had to buy two 😀

My Mum’s 96 this year and refuses to move from her four bedroom country cottage in the middle of a field with the nearest village over a mile away, on her own since we lost my Dad a couple of years ago. She still has all her marbles, but is not very mobile, just about walks around the house with two sticks and has a stair lift. Unfortunately I’m 150 miles away from her and my brother is over 500 miles away. Fortunately, my ex still pops in to see her and do her on-line shopping order once a month, but she does of course complain that she’s lonely. What can you do if they won’t move? We really can’t afford to move near her, and then move again to where we really want to be.
She would definitely agree, getting old really does suck.

Part of our lawn hasn’t been trashed by the hens – because it’s been mostly under water the last couple of months. The bit that’s not under water just sucks your feet into the mud if you stand still for more than a second. Let’s hope we sell the house and can move soon!

I’ve had my Edge 800 for about 4 or 5 years, used practically daily in all weathers in the wet North West, and it works perfectly well. As said above, it will only store so many rides, so do delete them occasionally – although I can’t remember the last time I did that!

Pah, bloody pretentious lot you all are – it’s Sainsbury’s pizzas here – after cooking all over Christmas, and not even in my own kitchen, I’m having a week off 🙂

She has other orifices, you may use them.

But only with her permission, although you speak as if you know that’ll be ok?

A quick poll on a female ride leaders group revealed that no-one would be at all bothered, and there was even sympathy for the poor chap 🙂
It’s not the OP from this thread is it? http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/typical-man-or-justified-frustrationdecorators-in-time-of-the-month-blob-etc

I fear the OP’s relationship may not last if he has a hissy fit every time he can’t have sex exactly when he wants 😯

Plenty of time to now go train spotting on blackpool south, and cycling, pity youve forgot another rail enthusiast.

No, not forgotten you, project! But you can keep your train spotting to yourself, trains are useful for getting me and my bike long distances, but that’s all!
Oh, and Blackpool North is nearer, we live in the posh part 🙂

The rain and wind doesn’t seem to have stopped for weeks here on the Fylde Coast. Our back garden is turning into a lake and I think our hens are developing webbed feet.

You want to be thankful you weren’t on the M6 northbound early evening! Only an extra 1 3/4 hours on our normal journey time from Stoke to the M55.

A Renault 6, the 850cc engine version, front bench seat, gear stick coming out the middle of the dashboard, TOB 428H. Great fun to drive, it tilted sideways very interestingly on bends, and could occasionally get up to 70mph, with the wind behind it. You don’t remember the Renault 6? Hmm, I suppose it was 40 years ago 😳

My view is the human body is designed to be able to conceive up to the age of fifty-ish, so whenever you fancy kids is the right time. I should perhaps add that having to do a pregnancy test at the age of 51 was pretty scary! (negative, fortunately!!)

Oh dear, decking is sooo last year!
Slabs will be a much better option, wood will just get slimey and slippery. I’m not sure who decided decking was a good idea in a damp, cool country anyway!
