Student life in Aberdeen is pretty decent tbh although it is quite expensive for rented accomodation (my mates two bedroom flat comes to about £900ish in total a month including bills). Saying that though the night life is good as long as you avoid the few clubs which are pretty much full of people looking for a fight although I guess that would be the case everywhere. There’s plenty of places to go riding around Aberdeen as well but a car would help.

I’d quite like to live in Inverness but from speaking to friends it’s not really studenty and the nightlife consists of one or two clubs.

Personally though I’d choose Glasgow, cheaper accomodation and a better nightlife whilst still being close to good riding etc

    I don’t think I need a spine. It’s holding me back

I got an xperia ray at the weekend and I quite like it. The main selling point for me was that it’s smaller than most other smart phones but just as quick, I couldn’t be bothered walking round with a big boulder of a phone in my pocket all day.

transapp that reminds me of anyother one of mine, the first time I was out on spd’s I never checked what gear I was in before setting off up a steep hill so I fell over and sprained my wrist. I got back up and carried on with my ride. Halfway round I was going really slowly in case I fell off again, so slowly in fact that I couldn’t roll over a tree root and I ended up falling off and landing on the same wrist again… ouch!

I can’t imagine joining the A96 at the junction would be too much fun. Personally I’d be lookoing to join at one of the roundabouts just before the junction.

Not my video but it’s still pretty funny and you can see my mate hiiting the deck at 3.23

This was our first attempt at building jumps when we were about 14

The same guy hits the deck in both videos

I’d recommend not trying to catch a bowling ball you’ve just dropped either. Getting your finger squashed between the bowling ball and the floor hurts a fair bit

You’d be suprised by just how much bike you can squeeze into the back of a car if you get creative, I’ve got a mate who can comfortably fit two big dh bikes and kit in the back of a clio.

I’m presuming that you still live with your parents? In which case putting them as named drivers on your policy can bring it down quite a bit as the insurance company will see it as you not being the only person who drives the car. I managed to take my first insurance policy down by around £500 doing this.

So why dont they offer pick up in store for free, then like Tesco’s etc they are getting foot fall, and then you might buy other stuff.

This could be down to how often they get deliveries in and how big these deliveries are. A big store like Tesco’s or any other big supermarket will be getting large lorry loads delivered each night where as a small local bike store might only be getting small deliveries every couple of days. The extra cost to Tesco’s offering to get your order delivered to your local store for you to collect is going to be next to nothing where as it might be a significant additional cost to your LBS.

I’ve been sat here all day studying for exams and looking out the window wishing I was actually out biking :( I’m heading straight out for a night ride at pitfichie as soon as my last exam is over though and I can’t wait :D

    Celebrity 10 pin sledging

Get 10 celebrities to stand at the bottom of a big snow covered hill then get ordinary people to donate money to charity to sledge down the hill and try and wipe as many of the celebrities out as they can. The donation gets doubled if they get a strike.

My secondary school didn’t have a uniform, you could wear what you liked as long as it wasn’t a football top or offensive to anyone* and I can’t say I ever noticed kids getting bullied for not wearing ‘cool’ clothes.

*Although this didn’t stop having to sit behind a guy in an exam once who a massive middle finger on the back of his tshirt with a slogan emblazened above it telling me where to get to in massive letters.

Edit: Actually yeah there was a couple of kids got bullied for not having ‘cool’ clothes but I don’t think it was ever solely about the clothes they were wearing, more likely the bullies just seen them as easy targets.

Possibly… would probably be due to the fact that there is a lot of gravity in the universe, so that if you tried to go in a straight line (and you would perceive that you were going in a straight line) then the gravity in the universe would cause you to go round in a big circle. Although it would take you that long that even if you could survive the journey chances are the earth wouldn’t be here any more.

Haven’t got it yet but bebo did something similar a while back and I didn’t like it much then. Having seen a couple peoples profiles with already I can’t say that I’m a big fan of it.

£15-20 is much cheapness. £25 OK?

    Yeah £25 is fine mate.

I’ve heard good things about Macallan and Glenlivet although I might try and get my hands on a bottle of Glenmorangie for the weekend.

Just out of interest how do you guys find blends match up to single malts?

Quite often deals on Jura which has the seasidiness of the Islay malts with out being too peaty.

Yeah I’ve been tempted in the past to pick up a bottle of Jura because it looked ridiculously cheap but I was put off when a friend told me it was similar to laphroaig, is this true?

Why go to all that trouble when they could go to the Consulate?

To be fair I hadn’t thought of that, maybe a lack of money/not knowing where it was could have stopped them?

    Heart transplants

    Heceptin and similar

    Gastric Bypass

I can sort of see where you’re coming from with the IVF and gastric bypass (although I don’t necessarily agree with the views) and I don’t know what heceptin is but I’m wondering why you’ve included heart transplants in that list?

I’ve hired one out of a shop on Rosemount before but can’t remember the name of the shop right now. It wasn’t the tartan you’re after but the guy seemed quite knowledgeable about his kilts so he would probably be able to source it for you.

I’ve been to the one on the corner of Back Wynd aswell (Scott’s?) and was impressed with the service I got from them, they didn’t have my size in stock so they phoned round the other shops in town and then pointed me in the direction of the Rosemout one.

We’re banned from one of our local hotels after two of the managers started fighting three years ago, I think one of them punched a hole in the wall…
