No probs steffy, glad you like them!
Here’s the link for the High5 deal mav12 found: http://www.discount-supplements.co.uk/high-5-zero-20-tabs
joeydeaconFree MemberNo probs guys, like I said I can’t take the credit as I just found the deals on those two websites, but glad you all saved some cash!
Will post any more I can find in this thread
Cheers
Joey
joeydeaconFree MemberHey no probs guys, can’t take credit for most of them, they’re mostly from either Cycling Bargains on Twitter or good old Hot UK Deals!
joeydeaconFree MemberCouple more..
Helly Hansen Base layer – was £50 now £20
IXS Ladies Pro Jersey – was £64 now £12joeydeaconFree MemberI’m quite looking forward to it all being over to end the politics conversations.. kinda like the Wimbledon effect, everyone is suddenly an expert, statistics being made up on the spot and arguments which achieve nothing, and no-one changes anyone’s mind.
I know v little about politics, it doesn’t interest me so I don’t get involved, just find it annoying when people who know even less than me start lecturing the room as though they’re some kind of expert on the subject..
/grumpy old man at 32
Edit: Should add this isn’t me having a go at anyone in this thread, just what I’ve witnessed in real life..
joeydeaconFree MemberHaha yeah, hopefully might help a few of you save some pennies tho!
Wiggle have a load of dirt cheap DHB base layers –
Mens / Womens £5 each down from £12.99Think there are some long sleeved ones too.. Prob wrong time of year, and not my find so can’t take the credit, was via @Cyclebargains twitter stream
joeydeaconFree MemberAh right, always assumed all SPD cleats were the same.. well hopefully they’ll be of use to someone!
joeydeaconFree MemberAlso some v cheap Shimano SPD cleats – was £17.99 now £3 from halfords
http://www.halfords.com/cycling/clothing/shoes/shimano-spd-cleat-sm-sh52-with-nut – hopefully in stock near some of you..
joeydeaconFree MemberYeah they are a bit garish.. admittedly I only wear bib shorts under baggies, so might be ok for that, or turbo trainer duties?
joeydeaconFree MemberNot bike related, but I’ve recently found out that I’ve been wrong about olives for the last 32 years.
joeydeaconFree MemberOh and I’ve also tried roughly same recipe with a yeast sachet instead of baking powder, but it hardly rises.
joeydeaconFree MemberYeah, tastes pretty similar although a bit drier – chickpea bread is quite dry to eat, so will need extra tomato / whatever to compensate in sandwiches. It’s more the bread texture that I missed though.
Maybe chucking an egg in before the water would add a bit more moisture.
joeydeaconFree MemberJust realised I missed an opportunity to do some “accidental” reflecto-porn in the kettle – will remember next time!
joeydeaconFree MemberMy girlfriend works as a Nanny for Aphex Twin’s kids. He didn’t seem too fussed to have won a Grammy the other day apparently!
Also, to anyone who wondered, they don’t look anything like the kids in the Come to Daddy video!
joeydeaconFree MemberSpurs fans to Dean Ashton:
“You’re just a fat Annie Lennox!”
joeydeaconFree MemberAh, maybe not such a bargain then! The shorts I bought have been really good, seems it’s a bit hit and miss whether each garment is worth the cash or not..
joeydeaconFree MemberI’ve got some baggy shorts of there’s which have held up well for the last couple of years.. same as you I bought them for about a quarter of their price, not worth RRP but well worth a fiver or so each..
joeydeaconFree MemberI never knew they did a 150mm version.. perhaps try the bike with a rigid post, and see the difference in height between your preferred optimum highest position, and the lowest position you’d like the saddle when descending – and see if it’s closest to 125mm or 150mm.. I imagine 150mm would need more maintenance due to increased strain?
joeydeaconFree MemberDepends what you mean by cheapish?

joeydeaconFree MemberThere’s a 25% DHB specific one posted at the end of this thread – http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/psa-black-friday-deals
joeydeaconFree MemberThought I’d bump this thread ahead of this year’s Black Friday deals.
Wiggle have 25% off all DHB if you use the voucher “dhbis10”
Cheap Jumpers at Zavvi – some normal ones amongst the novelty Xmas jumper types
Craghopper Bear Grylls outdoor jacket – was £185 now around £43 (10% off when you add it to basket)
I imagine the real deals will start nearer the end of the week, will keep posting any I find..
joeydeaconFree MemberTo be fair, Mike Read does have some fans..
4 mins 5 secs onwards…
joeydeaconFree MemberWith football, money talks.. Wikipedia has him at 59 goals in 167 games at Championship/League 1 level, inc 35 in 42 games in his final season, so he will undoubtedly find another club.. they’ll be protests initially and then he’ll start scoring and it’ll slowly die down.. he’s 25 so still got age on his side, so a few clubs will go in for him. I’m not saying he should have this chance, I’m just being realistic about what will happen.
Lee Hughes had a similar case (killed someone due to dangerous driving, fled the scene, probably drink driving as well) and after protests he came back and had a moderately successful career with a few different clubs
Again, not condoning any of this, just stating what will happen IMO.
joeydeaconFree MemberYou get dickheads in all walks of life. Have had no trouble in years from cycling, always slow down and am polite to walkers. On Saturday I saw a couple of dog walkers on a bridleway ahead. I was cycling slowly as I was carrying a large backpack and a fishing rod, and when around 20m away from them I slowed to a stop, put a foot down and said “Excuse me please”. The woman grabbed hold of her dog (which was stood right next to her, and I was stationary 20m away anyway) and shrieked “For God’s sake you need to slow down you’re going to kill someone!”. I started to laugh and pointed out I was standing still, her husband then shouted “slow down mister, you’re going way too fast”. She then proceeded to tell me that she was having a lovely day and that I had just totally ruined it for her. After them refusing to believe that I was standing still, and getting a load of abuse, I snapped, told her she was absolutely **** mental and rode off. Perhaps I should have bitten my tongue, but I’ve ridden that bridleway for the last 20 years and have never had such a reaction in my life. Basically 99.9% of walkers are fine, but there will always be irrational **** in every walk of life.
joeydeaconFree MemberJunkyard / GrahamS – Yep, I would consider the Up / Down votes on a video to be indicative of public support for/against it – through social networking the internet is pretty fast to lynch anyone who makes a controversial statement/video etc, and this is usually reflected in the votes and comments. The fact that this hasn’t happened, despite nearly 3/4 million views shows that people on the whole aren’t bothered by the Playboy content.
The main reason I think it was unnecessary for STW to take the moral high ground and comment on the matter is that it then sets them as a target – if they’ve ever published a photo of a female cyclist in skimpy clothing, or given publicity to the Marzocchi calendars or any other promotion material from other manufacturers featuring similar content, then they’re going to look a little hypocritical. I don’t really get why the “Friday Kylie” style posts were deemed acceptable if the Playboy video isn’t?
joeydeaconFree MemberSeems a bit odd to come out in opposition to this – if you don’t like the vid, then just don’t publish it – no need to draw attention to the matter with a statement.
I appreciate STW is a business, and the owners have the right to decide whatever they wish to promote, but surely it’s best to go with whatever is the views of your demographic, and if you’re unsure then just don’t comment on the matter?
So far on Youtube it’s been viewed by 703,585 people of which 7,843 have voted on it.
98.15% of these votes are thumbs up (7,698) and 1.85% (145) are thumbs down. This is fairly indicative of the video, on the whole, not causing too much offence. Content wise, compared to the average hip hop video it’s pretty tame.
Granted it’s not Danny’s best work, but this is probably due to the fact that they presumably had a limited time on the location for the shoot, and so couldn’t be as ambitious as previous projects.
Given all the events that are going on around the world, there are far more controversial and important issues to highlight, than a relatively harmless video on Youtube.
joeydeaconFree MemberEnough of this sensible discussion, I’ve got some art to sell.. any takers?

joeydeaconFree MemberInitially 1 year from all matches. Reduced to 6 months after an appeal.
joeydeaconFree MemberI’ve always wondered what those cheap Taiwan RSTs on ebay are like – have bought cheap rigid forks and various other parts on there which are pretty good, no idea if these are worth the cash or not?
joeydeaconFree MemberI found the simplest solution is to discretely Letmein1 insert them in forum posts, so if I ever forget, I can just look through my posting history for clues.
joeydeaconFree MemberI wasn’t criticising your video skills, it seemed to be a decent resolution and no issues with the editing etc, I just meant that IMO it would have set a better impression if you’d written a script, and then shot the video with a few takes to get it perfect, rather than try to ad lib it all whilst semi distracted with driving.
That way you’d have been able to clearly communicate your vision to the potential investor, rather than making the inevitable mistakes that anyone would make if trying to freestyle it all in one take.
joeydeaconFree MemberHey Jamie.. I’m not having a go or anything, I admire anyone who sets themselves a goal, and works hard to achieve it, but what put me off was the video.
You stated you don’t have much free time, hence filming whilst driving, but surely making the right impression and setting aside a bit of time to edit something a bit more professional would have been a better idea, especially when you’re asking people to invest their hard earned cash.
You then mentioned in your text that the magazine would be completed in your spare time, which you’d just demonstrated that you didn’t have enough of to make a proper video, so I’m not sure when you’d be able to edit an entire magazine?
Like I said, I’m not having a go, I admire your ambition, and the fact that you’ve raised over 7k is commendable, I just think that if you’re asking people to invest money, then maybe you should have demonstrated that you are prepared to invest a bit more of your time, to show potential investors that you’re serious.
I wish you well all the same though, and hope that you reach your target.
