The device is only 4 months old

Take it back to the shop you got it from, SGA issue rather than warranty at under six months

Even though it was free, it’s going to cost time and money, cranks, brakes, tires to start with all add up; do the math; can see that bike quickly becoming a money pit.

Nice wheels, but long since superseded by RS81’s which are 11 speed compatible.

Not sure why you would want a non 11 speed compatible wheel now, even if you are currently not running 11 speed, if it’s not forward compatible, you would need to purchase a new rear if you upgraded later.

25mm here, 40km dry back from the shop, and about 7km wet a few days ago, nice and grippy, esp in the wet, seemed pretty fast as well, although going back home from the shop had a lot of wind assist.

Need to get them out for a few longer rides for a better assessment.

Had Centaur Skeletons for a few years now on my winter bike, and no signs of rust, the ones they replaced (I think Veloce) had corrosion after a similar time, but far less riding during winters.

Logging everything this year, just to see how much I actually ride, surprising how much those little trips add to your total distance.

Am amused by getting kudos for popping down to Morrisons to get some milk.

Carbon if over 1K, Alu if below, not too much in steel now, unless you pay lots for the really good stuff.

What ever you look at, if possible would try to get one which has a rear hub can take an 11 speed cassette for future proofing.

From where you live would look at a standard crank (53/39) you won’t need a compact in East Anglia but most sub 1K bikes seem to be spec’d with compacts. And avoid triples, too much trouble for so little gain in gears, and not needed in East Anglia.

For 2nd hand vs new, there are some good 2nd hand bikes out there, but you will have to search, as you are close, would be worth looking at Pauls Cycles, as they have a lot of closeout models at deep discounts

If your going via Blackstone Edge, may as well do the Cragg Vale descent, more interesting the going into Ripponden, then up into Halifax, then towards Bradford via Northowram on the A6036, then towards Tong, then the A58 Drig (Whitehall Road).

A big flaw with Strava is flagging segments, is it only takes one; segments really should be put on probation (of some sort), and voted on (or similar), as noted above, it will be someone who has lost their KOM and is having a sad on.

For that promenade being dangerous, time of day / conditions are everything, looks pretty safe & empty when the photo was taken.

Campagnolo ones are nice, not too cheap, but a cableset has everything in it needed.

What about Magura HS11/33’s they were around BITD.

    jimc101

HS33’s are a closed system, what are the MPH? most disc are open, and the 2 aren’t compatible.

The fluid is another issue as DOT and mineral aren’t mixable as noted above.

    Magura’s take on it

Look at the hose, if it BH90 hose, it uses the silver insert, if BH59 it uses the gold.

For the headset, follow the S.H.I.S spec and use whatever you want that matches it.

    S.H.I.S. Top Cup / Bottom Cup: ZS44/28.6 – EC44/40

Taken from CRC Nukeprook headset page

As noted, technically yes, chainsets really don’t care as long as they are the right speed / bb type, aesthetically, mixing anything with Campagnolo isn’t a done thing.

Currently running a Crucial 240GB, for about 3 years prior to that was running a Kingston (40GB was getting too small) no issues with either, Samsung has a good rep as well.

240GB seems to the the current sweet spot for price, would keep an eye on Hotukdeals for good prices.

Remember they are 2.5″ form factor so order and adapter/get a desktop kit when you buy so you can install it correctly.

What’s your budget? I got a set of Vaude panniers & a Tubus rack from ebay Germany several years ago, the panniers are just as good as Ortlieb, and get used most days & Tubus are as good as it gets for the rack. Not cheap though.

The panniers replaced a set of DHB (Wiggle) which are almost identical to the current EBC ones, they were OK (and a lot cheaper than the current price) and lasted about 18 months of daily use. Going to Vaude or Ortlieb is a massive step up in quality.

Any 11 speed shimano hub + shimano 11speed cassette, ONLY if you’re running 11 speed campag though!

Not a lot of choice if going with that option, only the CX75 is currently available as 11 speed disc / 135mm, good option though as everyone now uses the same spacing for 11 speed.

Which model are you talking about? if current Tiagra (4600) and current 105 (5700) yes, as both are 10 speed, if say 4400/4500 & 5600, no as 9 & 10 speed incompatibility, if 4400/4500 & 5500 yes, as both are 9 speed.

Would keep an eye on ebay, Time Atac Alu normally for for £25ish new, although not many on now as it’s the holidays, for retail, Merlin as noted is normally the cheapest

There have been some issues noted on with Tandem use and the carbon version over on bikeforums, but TRP didn’t seem to want to know anything about it.

Would have thought that with getting on for 20+ year of disc use, going on 40 if you count Shimanos versions from the 70’s that things like this wouldn’t get through QA testing, and all the bugs would have been worked out with the MTB ones, not the re-learning that’s going on with road brakes (Shimano CX75 recall)

Been looking for this, Shimano seems to be dragging it’s feet, although with 6870/R785 being released, there should be some Shimano factory wheels available in the next few months. Shimano also have the CX75 hubs out soon which are 135mm/centerlock if you want to build yourself.

The Selcof brand has been around for ages (don’t know if they are still going though), mainly known for seatposts (think low to mid range). For the wheels, don’t look too bad, but they were never a £800 set, they look closer to a Fulcrum 7 than anything else, probably equal to or a downgrade from Aksiums.

no mention of the freehub being 11 speed compatible, if not, they wheels won’t be any good when you go 11 speed.

Why not just buy a replacement XT lever [/url]@£24.99 link is for the LH

The Zee & XT look to have the same interface, but you loose the adjustment knob going from the XT to Zee

Bloody hell (chainset/calliper), did she drive right over it

With Bromptons, given the design, and amount on proprietary parts, damage sound quite small, for the prices, they feel cheap, if not very cheap, a quick look at SJS cycles shows the rear wheel & brake caliper being more than the OP’s prices.

For the OP, as with others, claim of their insurance.

Satmap Active 10 has OS maps, it’s a bit bigger than Garmins, and has it own quirks. Not cheap, but is a UK company.
