These seem very good value for £185, and are enduro/650B proofed should you want to switch to living trails in future.

I’d rather my neighbours cat did not shit in my garden. Not having a cat litter tray seems irresponsible. It also drags it’s fat ass over the fence in the same spot every time, and has already broken the fence topper from the claw damage.

My house is currently on the market so the above is pretty sub-optimal. I work all day, I can’t sit there with a water pistol to deter it.

I do actually like cats but I get none of the benefit of actually having a cat but have to put up with cleaning up after other peoples.

Cat piss and shit smells horrible, and it’s annoying if it’s not yours.

Looks ace. Congrats, I rather quite want one of these now.

Although the lawn needs cutting, the weed content looks low so I’ll let it slip.

Just ordered the hope bb and gxp adapters. Don’t know how long it will last but my last sram one lasted 3 months so I want to try something different.

Try logging in and then using KSVAZ, just worked for me.

Quite amusing but essentially the same joke over and over.

You could also ask the campsite if they have a garage or something you can chain up the bikes in.

Went for a long ride at the weekend. And I am very happy to report – problem solved! 😀

I think it was a combination of:
    – Snapped Avid CPS washer (hadn’t noticed this before!)
    – Old mount could have possibly been slightly warped, not visible to the eye.
    – Caliper alignment.

Amazing ride at the weekend, I love this bike. #26IsAlive

Massive thanks to everyone who posted and helped out above.

    Have you tried these? http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/12-off-60-spend-at-crc
[EDIT] Scroll to p2, there’s some links to new ones, and the JULY15 might work (over 80 spend though). KSVAZ still works apparently! YMMV[/EDIT]

^ Ahh good tips re the brake cleaner – ta!

Massive thanks for all the suggestions, I’m glad I’m not the only one and yes it’s hella annoying especially when sat down for the reasons DezB stated :D.

I have some spare fettling time tomorrow night so I will:

    * Remove rotor, clean it with brake cleaner, reattach to torque and make sure no movement. (I have a spare Rotor I could try too actually).
    * Make sure the right way around
    * Check rotor for warping
    * Replace mount (as luck would have it I have another)
    * Replace pads
    * Re-centre calipers as per hope video, and ensure EXACTLY centre!
    * Check rear hub bearings ( I think they are solid though)

I’ve done this before to silence the prevuious squeeks but did nothing with the vibration issue.

If no luck I’ll consider securing the cable to the frame, or rubber washer mounts.

    Thanks again, I’ll report back!

+1 for Treat your own back by Robin Mackenzie. Teaches you the basics and how to avoid bad posture and habits.

+1 for the NHS advised lower back pain links – these should give you stuff to do on a daily basis (ideally). Knee rolls are important, you can work up to having knees in the air, sometimes results in a quite satisfying crack/pop noise from your spine!

+1 for pilates. Joining a regular class ensures that you are setting aside 50 mins or so a week to focus on your back and core strength and flexibility, otherwise you can get lazy and forget to do any exercises – especially when you are pain free! It’s usually not that hard either.

Experience: My fair share of disc based problems over the years, and learning to deal with it. Good luck!

    Enjoyed.

Not weird enough though, please watch more David Lynch stuff for inspiration before making the next one.

I do want one of them bouncy Santa Cruz 5010 bikes now.

thing is tho…..Leeds is completely devoid of a good bike shop…seriously.

Another vote for Garage bikes in Morley. Nice guys, great advice and competitively priced.

Leeds city centre on the other hand, you might be right. Although the pedallers arms is good but not really a shop.

    That’s a 16MP camera – 500kb files?!

What are the image dimensions of the images it’s producing? Should be 4928 x 3264

2nd the recommendation for RAW as well.

I’m not a Nikon use but would be tempted to reset the camera to default settings, then make sure you’re on the biggest image size and RAW.

Doolittle. If you like the angrier heavier tracks listen to surfer rosa and come on pilgrim, if you preferred the moellower stuff then bosanova and trompe le monde.

My favourite band to date 🙂

Got X5 on my charge cooker and it works perfectly. If it’s changing up or down randomly that’d suggest that the cable tension isnt set correctly, or your cables are in need of replacement. Could be an alignment issue with a bent hanger or something?

Press fit bottom bracket per chance? The creaking is often a sign of wear but if there’s no play or movement they can creak as ‘normal’.

I’m only posting in this thread so that I can find it again easily.

However, great work with all the photos, still got Kevin’s to go through but have found loads of me/my team and some mates. Thanks 🙂

The only ones that aren’t on here is the thread over at Retro bike:

Gildan Softstyle are my current faves. About £4 from amazon posted, not thick though, very soft and thin but very comfy.

However as you want heavyweight, Gildan Premium heavyweight or heavy cotton are very thick for a T, I have tons of “ultra cotton” which are tad thinner and comfy all year round.

I’ve switched form Fruit of the Loom to Gildan as they are better quality and stitch. Generally better quality stuff has no stitch on the side from the armpits down, and flat covered seams around the neck (it’s the last bit that persuaded me to Gildan from FOTL!)

I work in IT and I wear a lot of plain t shirts to work btw.

Great photos JamesH – you’ve a great one of a mate of mine, just sent it to him…

Likewise Salsaboy earlier, cracking shots! (If anyone missed the link, there’s even more more pics now, worth a look https://www.flickr.com/photos/salsaboy/sets/72157645348074923/)

I saw him too, he had shorts on and a muddy face, he was whistling and waving his arms as if he was conducting an orchestra.

I had to catch up to the guy in front to ask if he saw him too. I was getting pretty tired at this point and thought I could have imagined him.

Equally astounding was how quick Isla can climb, I had to double take.

On the red bull section, did anyone else slip over immediately after the “muddy corner” that had a bit of muddy berm develop, and then slippery off camber stones immediately after?

I, and one of my team mates did – as we didn’t take into account how slippery it had become on the night laps. I was asleep when he did his so he didn’t warn me 🙂

Awesome course this year. Was able to ride/climb four of my five laps. Really enjoyed it, but crikey it’s hot!

What the hell is quite an unforgiving race feel?

My guess is a committed forward & low body position. The sort of position that you might get tired of if you’re riding long xc rides maybe. I only mention it because my first/current bike fits the above and after riding a few friends bikes I’d opt for something more relaxed for my next one. I know a lot can be done to change it with seatposts/stem/handlebars but this can add up and geometry out the box is (I realise now) an important factor when choosing a bike.

Plus there’s the harsh-ness of alu! Never noticed it myself though :\

The lap looks alright, still a few puddles here and there, but it is woods. Lots of double track, whilst I like the singletrack bits near the end last year I imagine any serious racers behind me were cursing them.

But the question is which have you NEVER ridden with.

    Gotcha *facepalm*

Where’s the “I’ve ridden all with all these on my bike”?

There is the ability to tick everything, as well as more than one option, the answers are not mutually exclusive.

It shows which is the least used mtb component of those selected, which currently seems to be the bell.

I fail to see the problem.

(presume the length of the commute is what would do your head in?)

Yeah, the train would be about 30 mins to Leeds, then factor in the walk either side (I work 15 mins walk from the station), and the shitty overcrowded/cancelled/late trains and train prices. You’d be lucky to get to Leeds in 40 mins no traffic and double it for commuting times. Doesn’t sound like an issue for you working from home though.

Saltaire’s on the long list. Seems a bit small though – potential cabin fever. Is there much going on other than the pub?

Hmm I think it ticks most of your boxes, just with less options than bigger towns. I like that it’s on the canal path too, which opens up more riding options from the door. Pretty parks too.

    Saltaire?

Will you be working in Leeds? The commute from Ilkley would do my head in.

…what’s the crack with the Red Bull downhill section only being on for 6 hours?! (http://www.wigglemountainmayhem.com/the-red-bull-time-trial/)

Last year it was all race wasn’t it? Surely all they have to do is leave the gear out a bit longer.

    Any other clubs?

(Disclosure) My friends runs this – I’ve had a few bags off them and they were pretty damn lovely, especially if they’re brewing up (my cheapo french press doesn’t really do it justice – or maybe I’m not doing it right?!) Anyway I don’t drink enough coffee to justify a fancy gaggia or a subscription though.
