As I was when I went to the dark side recently, your position looks like a mountain biker riding a road bike. Rotate your hips. Bend elbows. Put the saddle up and forward, then tweak the position further from there

I note that at least some of the clothing prices have been increased by around 10% before the sale starts

There is a ‘For Dummies’ book on Excel, which shouldn’t be more than a tenner.

Not the Pro but the Expert, which is very similar. Bought in the Start Cycles sale (just £31).

Ratchet works well, lightweight, normal sized, stiff sole. Erm, fine really. The little replaceable toe studs ain’t very hard wearing on concrete

Mine were £63 from Ribble when they had 10% off shimano offer (currently £70), which they frequently do.

Superb for the money – this year’s Deore are significantly better than the model from two years ago which also have

Considered the Alpkit harness? There is really a lot of thought and work gone into its design, and I think it is cheaper

I have a Spoon that I took off my mtb due to cockpinch’. Coult/would it be different on the road?

I’ve Spoons on my three mtb but found it too wide in the centre for road. Different hip position and all that

I remember seeing the ‘original’ stuff in Thailand back in the late 90’s. Little bottles of amphetamine based* drinks that just and a picture of a red bull on them and were very popular with Thai taxi drivers.

*I don’t know it was actually amphetamines, but something along those lines….

Yes, in little medicine bottles. Very different to the cans

Turn bike over. Small cable lock. Sleep away from the path. I don’t but you might want a motorcycle-style alarmed disc lock

Just switched to the plastic nukeproof electron and love them. Slim, good platform, no slips, not battered with pedal strikes, cheap

I’m 40 in a fortnight and have really struggled to come up with gift ideas. If I want something I buy it. And was concerned that I’d use a bike-related present and then it just wear out and so it isn’t special.

I’ve asked for a bit of money. Not as impersonal as it sounds. Putting it to a skills day and few days away riding, which I will remember for much longer than a thing.

No interest in huge watches or expensive pliers

I’ve got them for my budget ss commuter. Perfectly fine for steady xc use for the price. 25mm so will take a wide tyre. Remember they are cup/cone

I’m almost 40 *sad face* and play 7s with a mixed group but mostly in their mid 20s. Keeping up with them keeps me honest

However, after not having any injuries or broken bones all my life previously, in about 5 years I’ve (all done while footying despite riding bikes and snowboarding):
    – slightly broken nose after being headed
    – concussion and 4hrs memory loss from back-flipping standing on the ball due to a deceptively slow pitch
    – torn MCL and out for 6 months
    – smashed hand: dislocated and broken finger x 2, broken hand x 2, broken wrist
    – EDIT broken big toe, missing the ball and booting someone

Still play every week though and am easily one of the fittest on the pitch

I assume that you only have access to Office software, but why just use Word?

How about this? Roughly set up the text in Word using the font you want, hit the ‘print screen’, open Paint, paste the pic of the screen into Paint and then move the text around so you are happy with the spacing.

Used prezet’s (thanks, pal), so hairyscary’s code is still available (thanks for the offer).

Fannying around deciding which glueless patches to buy to make me up to £75 was my downfall

ha, “spice”, “nesh” and “snap” (I love “snap box”) make me feel like going down home from up here in Scotchland. They do have some really good ones up here too though. All-time favs are “pieces” and “messages”
