yeah looks like a decent enough list to me. i remember last year there were questions about non-runners and the line was that redbull athletes only could take part, which is why Monster Energy sponsored riders like the Syndicate boys and Brendog were not invited? i cba checking up on riders sponsors but im sure Danny Hart rides for that Rockstar Energy now, maybe this is why hes not listed?

Yeah I wouldn’t mind doing degla in the dark if I can’t set off to machynlleth early enough, but I wouldn’t bother otherwise.

i did double drop my reverb quite often actually, and was impressed with the drop during my one ride on the lev, although sometimes took a little nudge with my arse to get it moving tho…

if your spending a few grand on a diamond a couple hundred quid either way isnt that much. the novelty and memories of shopping round there will be worth that. my mrs loves the fact hers comes from Hatton Garden. plus i really enjoyed learning about the different stones, cuts etc. and knowing your ring is 100% custom.

for a nice boutique hotel, right in the thick of it but not too touristy id recommend Charlotte Street Hotel. very nice…

this is a good list, maybe seen 75% of these. http://www.theguardian.com/film/filmblog/2015/may/05/the-best-films-of-2015-so-far-uk It Follows, Force Majeure, Pigeon, Amy would be my stand-outs. also loved Straight Outta Compton but that might just me being in fanboy mode!

i always just had the one bouncer, but when my collection of spare parts was sufficient enough to kit out another frame i got a HT frame too built it up. it hardly gets used really but i like it being there if ever my full suss is out of action for whatever reason. whenever my main bike gets an upgrade, so does my HT, and its handy having interchangeable parts if i ever need an emergency swap out, especially wheels!

Interesting that Atherton would have only finished about 24th in the junior men’s! Laurie put 36 seconds on to her.

    Thems some quick kids!

i guess you oughtta ride the beast since youve come all this way but i never bother, always prefer 2 laps of MBR. or MBR & Tarw Du. or MBR but session the descents and add the addams family bits… If i wanted the kind of riding the Beast offers i wouldnt visit a trail center for it…

Marin is a good shout but id also recommend a day at Antur Stiniog since your in the vicinity! especially if youve got 2 other days to get some mileage in.

dont wear one for my 1.5 mile (round trip) commute along 90% official cycle route at 6am. dont wear one to pop the shops, walk the dog or take kids to the park either but always for a proper off road ride.

however saying that ive got a new SP Bushwhacker and that thing is so hot ive taken to hanging on my bars when climbing! so the urge to ditch it completely is pretty strong.

at risk of looking like a schadenfreude, i watched the gunmans footage this morning (seems to have been taken down now…)

its chilling. unbelievable that he is stood so close, with a gun pointed at the reporter for so long without her or the interviewee even acknowledging him.. then the fact that after he opens fire she has time to look at him before turning to run away! did those first few shots miss or is that adrenaline kicking in? madness.

i bought a set of 3 b’twin tyre levers from decathlon must be 7 or 8 years ago which are still my first choice go to levers, ive had countless ‘decent’ branded ones, ones as part of kits, ones free with magazines since and the b’twinnies have outlasted them all.

cant beat it for tools and bits n pieces. but the riding gear is naff, for mtb that is… ive tried riding in their baselayers too – very comfy fresh on but when you get a sweat on its itchy sratchy hotness!

stage 1 was horrific for me, my front wheel totally jammed. when i tried to ride through it it sent me OTB, i took the wheel off to clear the mud but it happened again, and again. then when i was rolling my head was so all over the place i generally rode like a total spaz. gave up in the end and walked down. took 20mins!

from then on i knew my race was over so just tried to relax and enjoy the day. still managed to crash every stage, but it was good get a past a few riders on course and was wasnt unhappy with my times on the other 3.

obviously rode everything 10 times better on Saturday but it was a cracking weekend. Ard Rock seems so easy in comparison now!

was good to see Greg Callahan, Chris Ball & co on track – their times were mind blowing.

Craig, give Andrew a bell. he will come and coach you on your local trails if you wanted, or meet you pretty much anywhere in the north west… does a bit at Philips park which would be handy…

Shame it’s not held on Tweed green in Pebbles again? And that Cademuir is omitted? Still looks pretty rad. Bricking it a bit now…
