talking about repair fees – my current deal is about to end so they sent their inspection fella round to check it out the other day with the agreement i can get any defects fixed at my own expense before it goes back! was pretty happy with that! especially with a few mates in the trade…

or it allows normal respectable people to drive a nice £30k car without having to hand over £30K.

instead you hand over about £7k spread out over two years which is roughly the amount the £30k car will have depreciated in that time anyway.

pieces of roundabouts and stringy swings but thats how i look at it.

i got my 4yr old daughter an old ipod touch off ebay. told her its her own phone. (kids dont realise the concept of these devices is to make telephone calls) but she can have all her kids apps on there so they dont clog mine or the mrs’ phones. she can take pictures and she receives emails from us and her grandparents.

tbf, she did drop it by accident and caused a small crack in the screen – she was inconsolable!

she’s nearly six now, think ill let her have my ipad when i upgrade..

we were in Morzine last week, one lad was a stand in for a cry off and is a total noob, went for clipless… suffice to say him in full face and body armour, on his back with his bike in the air still clipped in like an up-turned tortoise outside the Pleney lift office on the first morning was one of the highlights of the trip! even the girls behind the counter and the lift operators and every single person in the vicinity was pissing themselves laughing!

    he lasted half a day.

You wanna try the Sky Garden in 20 Fenchurch (the new walkie talkie)
2 restaurants and a bar up there, and an experience to behold! be pretty cool anniversary surprise that would be if you can get in!

failing that, you can get similar vista’s at the Duck & Waffle on the top of the Heron Tower which has Sushi Samba next door. always a good night.

another option is Madison on top of that shopping centre opposite St Pauls. has a nice roof terrace with stunning views. bit wankerish tho. more of a bar really.

loads here. ive still to meet one i like. strange bunch. one thing i noticed very quickly is that they do not feel the need to say thanks when you hold a door open for them, they dont even acknowledge that fact that you are being courteous. .. Yet they get fabulously offended when you let it slam in their face as i do now…!

Yeah they’re just fobbing you off because they’re formulas and they dont wanna see them again 2 weeks later! i had some on a new bike once, got rid but put them on a hack bike. whenever my LBS saw me roll in with that bike he would just say before anything else ‘Brakes is it?’ and he’d be correct.

Well that was a bloody great sodding marvellous trip. After last year’s biblical rain and boiler suits 25 degree wall to wall blue skies every day was an absolute dream!

PPDS was a cracking event too. Ride it Friday which was the quietest day so hardly any queues to deal with but the terrain was just so much better than I expected. Maybe a bit flat and tarmaccy on the Swiss side but had fun on those tearing down as fast as we dared! All the other descending was great and raced them all like enduro stages! All the DH options were good but my fave was the long dusty singletrack from Crosets back to Lindarets! Loved it

we have had a couple of the HQ symphony beach kites. the recommended age is older but my 5 year old can fly the smallest one. so much fun to fly and dead simple to set-up/use.

forests are not the best kite flying arena’s tho tbh…

bike and kit is being driven down, meeting them there. the dilemma is because ill be there a day earlier than them! so need to take bare essentials for 1 days riding a hire bike (carbon V10 8) ) so maybes ill just ditch the offensive items with the rest of my stuff and chance it…

i just took the plunge and got one without testing. got a Genesis Caribou. changed the tyres to on-ones, fitted a hi-lo dropper, zee brakes and some ‘normal’ bars so its not too alien… so much fun in the snow and on the dunes, but i dont enjoy taking it on a normal trail ride. i do get use out of it during the year tho – like taking the dog out in the woods and over boggy fields, and it also get used on family rides and i always do the school run on it on a friday with the tag-a-long attached. my little girls loves all the attention it gets!
