Is it true that pension funds are often invested/redirected into “unethical” companies, are there good ways to avoid this?

dont slice the potatoes, break chunks off with the knife. let them cool after cooking and then mix into the eggs

I think they are only for 10 speed but dont see why you could not use one on a 9 speed.

but this will fit anything with a bit of fettling :)

@sillyoldman , no its cut out of 2mm sheet not CNC. I have only used it on a steel freehub body so dont know how a Alu one would hold up.

Someone did suggest fixing the adaptor on the back of a cassette with a carrier.

    where theres a will..

but when your trying to beat a personal best or simply maintain a steady pace, the last thing you want is to be slowed down by children or leisure riders or which brings me onto my next off put, walkers.

oh you are a pro? go ride somewhere else perhaps :)

fitted one and noticed a gap maybe 1mm between the seal and the top cap, tried a hope crown race I had knocking about, fitted perfectly, made a nice seal without dragging, was on a straight steerer with an angleset.

nice work! how do you fit the steerer through the headtube with the bit that clamps on top? I can’t quite work it out from the pictures?

edit ah the steerer is separate and it clamps on both ends. :)

I can’t stop being a kid out on the bike, see stuff, anything, a bench steps natural drops or jumps, whatever and I want to ride/fly over up down it, but I am no yoof and a nasty injury is not really a option, but doing this stuff is almost irresistable..

additionally I have done some great landing head first/into immovable object etc. type “stunts” while on solo casual XC type rides, sometimes stuff just happens! that takes some of the fun out of XC..

what to do? practice skills, safely even if you dont ride big stuff it might stop you losing it on a XC ride. I know that practicing stuff has helped me avoid some accidents.

for this reason if no other it’s good to push yourself.

I know of one chap who did that, then one day there was an audit, fines for all ..and had to repay everything.

    be careful on that one.

I have a zee working well with 40T,think I would use a med cage for anything bigger.

+1 for a buider type person survey, most places will need roofing, plumbing and electrical work, and the insulation upgraded.

sit down in each room for a while and try to see all the bad things now not later.

the risks you are prepared to take is a personal matter.
sometimes you are lucky and others not, its the same for everyone.

as someone else mentioned, doing other types of activity that keep you strong, flexible and keeps your reactions sharp is a good move. this way when it does hit the fan you are best able to react and your body more able to take the impacts.

finding the eject button and knowing when to use it can help too!

and beware the last run of the day/hit it one last time trap.

a crash is always a possibility, it’s just the way it is.

    ride smart. have fun. :)

I started to use one after a shoulder injury meant a rucksack was uncomfortable,

risk of falling on sharp tools is the same IMO as a camelback,, just pack it carefully, anyway you are probably going to be hitting the ground, tree, stem, pedal etc so does not really make any greater risk in general.

no sweaty back is nice (in summer) and it is less obtrusive than a hydration pack.

of course you will need to wear goggles and an enduro lid which you may consider a drawback.

    more of everything for everyone!

the higher the price the more equity/liability you have, the more profit the banks rake in (especially when the rate goes back up) the more s**t everyone is in when the wheel turns full circle (apart from the money lenders)

@ anyone who definately wants one.

let me know it you want alloy or stainless steel.

message me on PB, I’ll get some made up and stick it on my buy/sell :)

be about £20 each with a couple of spacers I would say, depending on how many I get made up.

10 years in Rural Spain, absolutely brilliant! (with the usual ups and downs of life of course)

back in the UK now but will be going back again in a few years.
a lot depends on the type of person you are and your situation regarding career, family, friends and relations etc

one thing I would say is if things are not what you want here why not try it?
The only things I regret are things I didn’t do as opposed to things I did :)
