Keep hydrated yes but some people have raised calcium and are more predisposed to form stones.
10 years ago I had a nephrostomy on my RHS kidney with a week in hospital. I had lithotripsy on my LHS which resulted in renal colic.
They’ve come back on my LHS. I’ve spoken to two consultants about options. Lithotripsy – no anaesthetic needed, 60% success and high likelihood of renal colic. Ureteroscopy – surgery and anaesthetic, 90% success rate, discomfort and removal of stent after a couple of weeks. I’ve opted for the latter.
