I have had mixed expeirences with them but on the whole they are lying condecending wan.kers. I had one tell me that I wasn’t qualified enough for a job that I have a degree in because I didn’t have enough office experience and I had one guaranteeing me a job which strangely never materialised.
As a temp working for one it wasn’t half bad, good pay, flexible hours but work was not regular enough to make it worth while doing it for anything longer than 6 months or so.

I wouldn’t get the pliers. some needle nose pliers should do the trick if its really stuck otherwise try flexing the link side to side as you apply pressure.

I have a Mk3 Mondeo TDCi and it’s VERY spacious. I can get three bikes in the boot and 4 people (if carefully packed). I had a look at an SMax and wasnt convinced it was much bigger in capacity than the Mondeo (talking about useable space as I know the S max is taller internally).

as far as repairs go, I do all my own servicing and I have just replaced the suspension strut (weak point on earlier mondeos) and so far haven’t had anything major go wrong at 82k! but cars are as fickle as bikes!
For tyres, I only ever put Part worn tyres on from a reputable source and they are at least half the price (155/60/r17 IIRC). I dont think you need to have the high speed tyres as we all can legally only drive up to 70mph in the UK!

depends if you got the warranty in writing but I suspect you’d have a good chance of getting it fixed if you threaten him with some sort of action (non violent that is!)

I had same problem when selling my car (this and the Nigerian scammers). someone thought they were adding the item to their watch list even though it clearly asks you at least twice if you are sure you want to BUY the item! Ebay are still trying to get me to pay the initial listing fee! not a chance.

I tried to take my ex partners car off what was my multicar policy (she renewed after i’d got my insurance and was advised MC was cheaper). it was a right nightmare, they said that I had to start a whole new policy (even though i’d paid my policy outright) and that it wouldn’t be possible to do it anyother way so I rings them on a sunday (the day before my renewal date) only to be put through to an indian call centre who said that they were closing in a miniute and that they’d get someone to call me back tomorrow – they didn’t and I had to spend 40mins on hold.
luckily this person was english and could understand my frustration and eventually changed everything and I even got a rebate as i’d moved to a less risky area!

in all there isn’t much consistency with their advisors – some are good and some are totally usuless.

why don’t you report them then. what annoys me more than benefit cheats is those that claim someone is cheating the system, bitches about it on a public forum but doesn’t actually do anything productive or proactive about it.
