    Barking.

Funny how everyone (inc TFL) now uses the ‘alternative’ tube map as opposed to the real one. If only they knew….

It does look on track to make landfall as a Cat4, which is not good at all, plus the storm surge could be very bad indeed.
One hell of a beast, developing quick and sucking in tons of moisture, so there will be lots to dump back down again!

London Cheesecakes, mmmmmm, bloody lovely. Not exclusive to London, get em all over Essex.
My local bakery does some great ones that knock those Greggs ones off the shelf. Want some posted?! 😆

Our Dyson replaced a Henry. They both have their merits.
IMO the Henry is better for wooden / stone / carpet tile flooring, whereas the Dyson is much much better at normal carpet, due to the brushbar.

FWIW our Dyson hasn’t missed a beat for the last 7 years despite being used daily (in an average sized family home with a dog and 2 messy kids), whereas the Henry is on it’s second motor.

The old Henry lives out in the garage and is used for cleaning out the car / guinea pig cage / brick dust etc.

Renewing the filters on the Dyson every couple of years keeps it running well.

So long as it keeps the house clean, I couldn’t give a toss what make it was, i’m no vacuum snob! 😆

Ours has 7-cell opaque polycarb, & it’s noisy as hell when it rains. Even a light shower sounds like a deluge!
Thermally it seems okay but personally, I kinda wished we plumped for the K-glass.
Bonus with the opaque polycarb is that we can’t see the ugly brickwork of the house nor any bird shite on the roof. 😉

Depends on what you pay. For the exterior, it’s no better than a thorough wash, clay and wax imo.

It allows me to carry several years worth of accumulated info very easy. Great device.

Just get a Dirtworker or Mobi. Once you have used one you’ll wonder why you didn’t get one before!
Much less hassle & do a far far better job at cleaning dirt off than those manual pump sprayers.

Oh, and from personal experience on various electrical purchases, i’d take Which reviews with a large pinch of salt these days. Certainly not what they used to be.

My old Epson was a bag of ****, whereas the Canon that has replaced it has been superb.

Which’s best buys are headed up by mono lasers, HP’s & Dell’s.
If you want an ‘all-in-one’ then their top best buys (in order) are:

    HP Photosmart Premium (C309g) £99
    Dell P713w £150
    Dell P715w £105
    Dell P513w £90
    Lexmark Prospect Pro205 £149
    HP Photosmart Wireless (B109n/Q8444B) £49
    HP Photosmart Plus (B209a)£79
    Canon Pixma MP640 £109
    HP Officejet Pro 8500 (CB022A) £149
    EPSON Stylus Photo PX800FW £260

If you need more detail from Which, let me know! 😀

PC Pro have the Canon Pixma MG6150 at the top of their A-list.

Go one bigger than you think you should. Moving from a 32″ CRT, we were looking at 37″ LCD TV until a bargain 40″ turned up.
the 40″ is far less obtrusive than the old 32″ CRT was.
LED = not always best, a good backlit CFT one is just as good, and usually far far cheaper.

Pass by the Dre Beats. Don’t get me wrong, they have a nice sound to them (for certain types of music), but are only good if you aren’t moving about. They fall out of your ears very easily & any vibrations are easily transmitted up through those flat cables.
Ultimate Ears are well worth a look in though.

With the electronic ones I understand they throttle the boiler so as it reaches the required temperature it keeps switching on and off

Maybe some do, our Honeywell electronic one (on a 2-wire setup) doesn’t. Boiler runs at full tilt until the stat temp is reached, then clicks off. If it drops half a degree below that, then it fires again etc, whereas the old dial one dropped a good 2 degrees before clicking on again. It just maintains the desired temp better.
So, much like the old dial one it replaced but with a much smaller, whaddayacallit, hysteresis?

Depends on where the stat is located though.
Ours is in the living room, and is set to a comfortable 20°C between 6-10pm this time of year. All rads are balanced & have TRV’s.

Next-door neighbour (with same layout house) has the stat in the hallway, yet mocks that his house feels like a sauna when his is set to 16°C (it does, it’s easily over 23°C in the main living areas), so must be better insulated etc.

Smug git doesn’t seem to understand that the stat will only click on when it’s ambient temp is at that specific level for the area it is in!
    Our hallway is easily 3-4°C

Greenbee, provided by John Lewis, underwritten by AXA.
Very good plan, although I think they may have dropped the ‘Greenbee’ name now.

Get some ‘Pet Corrector’ spray and / or carry some ground pepper as previously suggested.

The spray is just compressed air, but dogs really dislike the noise, so may help should any future confrontations occur.

Marigold oil / tincture is the stuff to use.
Our kids both had verruca’s for over a year that nothing would shift, freezing / acids etc.
Using some Marigold oil shifted their verruca’s within weeks!

CoPilot here too. Seems good, but has been a bit of a faff getting used to after years of having a dedicated TomTom.

Ultimate Ears, I prefer them to the CX300's they replaced. Better isolation from outside noise & a richer sound.
