I was just about to ask-why are wiggins and cav assumed to be clean/drug free?
    Genuine question!

Those both look good. Blessingbourne has some new man made trails too. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to ride them as haven’t been home too often lately.

I’d also have a 19 if they made one! 6ft1 and thought 18 was too small.

Yeah, I’m thinking of gluing some velcro in there to quieten it down but then there would be less than zero clearance!

orange crush what law makes it illegal in Scotland?

Surely there are a lot of things that cause similar problems to the one your describing-last minute avoidance of something potentially injuring yourself.

Silly rider doing trail repairs on a blind spot?
    Obstacle on the trail?
Someone crashed in front of you?
Slow rider in front/rider slams on brakes etc etc
    Deer/rabbit/squirrel on trail?

What do you do in all these scenarios?

I think that a well trained dog is no problem on the trail and conscientious owners train their dog to avoid bikes-both their own and other riders; due to the risk of injury all round.

Those look good thanks! Although my sections are all about 30 seconds long so don’t really compare to your trails!

Not got mine yet either. The last 2 didn’t make it here at all…..In fairness I did get sent a replacement for one of these (no back issues of the other were available). Fingers crossed that this issues will come soon.

If you like the Mojo then the Mojo HD 160/140 would probably be a good move.

Others I can think of that get good reviews or I have heard people comment positively on are:
    Spesh Stumpy Evo/Enduro
    Trek Remedy/Slash
    Lapierre Zesty/Spicy
    Orange 5/Alpine 160
    Mondraker Foxy/Dune
    Yt Wicked 150/160
    Cannondale Jekyl
    Santa Cruz Blur LT/Nomad
    Commencal Meta AM

Long list really and there could be more too. Might be worth demoing the Treks and Santa Cruz’s if you can at GT?

I suppose there is a clear split between 140mm bikes and 150/160mm ones which would be marketed as more aggro. Which side are you leaning toward-slightly lighter for the trail centre stuff or burlier/longer travel for bigger stuff?

Not sure about the Op but i was looking for something with 15/20mm axle which limits things a bit too

I think there are very few 130mm forks out there at the moment if you want 130mm again-most seem to be 120 or 140mm. I am after some 130mm forks myself and mostly seem to be looking at U-Turn style or having to put spacers in.

Wasn’t particularly interested in the Boxxers, that’s just where I had seen it. Think there were some Lyrics knocking round with it too. Might have been nice if it became available but i am not holding out a lot of hope.

I had a slackline for a while-if your looking for a hardtail suited to the enduros it would be spot on IMO.

what size is the stumpy-could be keen..

Had an ASR 5 before and Blur TRC is a bit expensive for me right now.

Anyone know when the Genesis Grapil or indeed the Mega TR might be in shops?

Size of the bike might be an important factor. Medium probably get the best return, small or large a little less and xs or Xl the poorest.

6ft1 on a large with 50mm stem too.

Owned both a Zesty and now an ASR5 (both from TBC if your looking for a good shop…)

Have read loads about both frames failing in various ways but never actually met anyone in ‘real life’ who had broken either.

The Zesty was great, a really good climber IMO and great going down. Rear suss worked well-It was a set up and forget job for me-just used the sag indicator and never had to change settings at all no matter where I was riding. I ended up upgrading the headset and BB almost right away tho! Was set up with 150mm fork and handled well.

ASR5 better for covering longer distances. Initially I noticed lots more flex at the back so I upgraded to the 12mm rear kit which has helped. I have also spent a lot more time trying to get the best rear suspension set up but think I’m almost there now. Running it with a 140mm fork so angle wise and style its set up quite similar to the zesty.

What sort of riding do you do?

Sssimon I’m pretty sure there are a fair few riders in the same situation! If orange made the 19 they could corner the ‘awkward inbetweener’ height market.

What’s too generous for one rider is cutting it tight for others though. I guess most riders signed up because they like the idea of an easy up before ‘racing’ the down and therefore a wider transition time might suit the majority while the elite riders will naturally get up a bit quicker. I know last year that’s how it worked at inners.

There was something in a euro bike report or similar on the homepage a while back showing a new chain device that e13 are making. It will work with smaller than ‘traditional’ single chain rings. Down to 28t if I recall. So if you had that set up then you could replicate the granny ring ratio. Think e13 will make the rings too. I would love it but can’t seem to find it on sale….

    Jarmin-that looks class.

I’d love Orange to make an 19inch 5! I’m sort of at the mid point between 18 and 20inch!
