I have PLEX on my NAS but the NAS is not powerful enough to handle all the transcoding. Qnap TS239 Pro 2, wired to the routet. It takes a while to serve a photo and HD video doesn’t work so I ended up running it from my desktop, which works really well with PLEX/Chromecast.

Look for one that can transcode. Synology play model looks like it’s more than up to it.

A guy I know rides carbon:

    Seems OK.

Doesn’t stop me having the same doubts as OP but it’s stronger, lighter and easier to repair if you have the cash.

but not ordered from bikediscount.de before – simple or painful process?

Simple and quick. Tracked. 2-3 days.

Not sure about the below site, but love my Jetboil for a fast post ride brew. Ideal for winter. Good if you hike or camp too.

Pop a couple of rocks in your pockets as you ride down. Shake ’em out at the bottom…

My estimate was 150 tons but I’m no quantity surveyor, probably much more.

2800 riders down on Strava. 3x that without Strava. 15kg each moved, that’s only the weight of a bike each, 126 tons.

    ;)

Don’t have to do full width either, just a nice singletrack…

    Not a weekend but over 6 months…

Rode it last week for the first time in 18 months. Awful. The smoothed completed version will be awful too.

Time for project cairn? Every time you pass, place 10 rocks on the side. Soon have it cleared!

Small Swiss army knife, grit your teeth and get stuck in. Or go to the professionals. Injection of painkiller on the top of your toe hurts almost as much as the DIY treatment.

The chain is under tension when you pedal. The tension comes from the top of the chainring, down the chain to the cassette, which will try and move the rear wheel.
The size of the chainring affects the position of this force.

If the force is above the pivot your suspension may tend to compress (big chainring).

If the force is below the pivot the suspension may tend to extend (small chainring).

If the force is directly through the pivot the force effect is neutral.

Playing with chaingring can give different traits.

Are you looking for weight saving?
OEM tyres and tubes can be very heavy.

I upgraded Aksium (rim brakes) to RS80s with GP4000 tyres and race tubes. Tyres/tubes saved more than the wheels.
Package was about 650g lighter. Weight your tyres and tubes and take it from there if looking for light weight.

Depends on the kid, Mrs and your local riding. Took a long time before our lad slept reliably so couldn’t plan anything and the night before had a big impact on the following day.

I still rode lots but it was last minute, agreed on the day and often solo due to short notice. Luckily have awesome riding from the door.

Tips – kit prepped, organised and bike serviced ready to go at a moments notice.
Mates prepped but warned of lack of commitment.
Road bike was quicker and easier for me and a lot of mates, works better solo for me too.
Try to get into a routine – I have first refusal on Wed night and Sunday morning.
Do the same for her so she has time too.
After 1 yr, the trailer was great. Got a ride in, time with the boy and he loved it.

Another Blofeld suggestion, if your Mrs is game, some white fur, whiskers and ears and you have your cat…

I still have that suit somewhere, not sure my Mrs has her white fur ears…

Not everything that’s for sale is marketed, though

Pedant mode – the definition of marketing is simply putting something up for sale (placing something on the market).

If you have a product, give it a price and offer it for sale, you have marketed it.

Promotion is one small bit of marketing -Advertising, Branding, Comminication, and all the ‘fluffy’ bit of brand image that seems to get people so worked up.

The X2 didn’t used to come with any spare optics so this must be the new one

My X1 came with spot, flood and middle but no stripy, I think it’s new for 2016.

I did see discussion about this kind of optic for the new light, seen here:

If it’s got ridges/facets down the face, it’s designed to have them vertically and provide a wide spread without loosing light vertically (no point lighting the sky)

I’ve had a couple of GoPro mounts fail in normal use, just seen on their Facebook page they now offer them in aluminium so was obviously a weak point. Good to see the development.

Shame Gloworm product info on their own website doesn’t seem very up to date, they are great lights but still have a small company feel about the way they communicate them.

Also a pity CRG Moto website still appear live – anyone thinking about Gloworm, read threads on here and avoid!!!

I sideloaded it when it came out as my battery is awful and wanted to see if it worked before ordering a new phone. For anyone that can’t wait for the OTA to arrive, you can manually upgrade:

    http://m.androidcentral.com/android-60-marshmallow-ota-links-are-starting-arrive-here-they-are

Now on Click is impressive. Long press the home button while viewing a text/email and you get context sensitive search pop up. I had a text asking if I wanted to go to a gig. 2 clicks and had the band on YouTube. Handy feature.

Proper silent mode at last, really wanted that back!

    Slight improvement on copy/paste

Vertical app drawer, which I had installed anyway

Apart from that, feels very similar to before. Possibly a bit smoother.

Hopefully a lot of changes under the surface, as it looks the same, feels the same, more like 5.2 than 6 on the surface really.

I was looking at 2.4″ BMX tyres for ours.
We have the version with handbrake shoes, which would foul. All else looks good and rarely use the brake so could remove it.

Our Croozer is brilliant. Used exclusively off road since he was about 1. Trip round Ladybower with a stop for pie and peas is priceless. Dragging him up a steep hill is great training (The Bastard, Porters Brook, 1×10 and trailer anyone?) and since my Mrs loves riding too gives a great family day out, or good way for and him to spend time together while keeping fit. He loves it.

Balance bike for sure. My lad is just 3 and loves his and is now starting to ride the BMX track on it. A ‘big boy’ was there with stabilisers and pedal and they were just getting in the way and he got frustrated. Balance bike lets thje kid glide and promotes balance (!) and that’ll transfer to pedals. Our lad is small so suspect the Islabike Rothan (we were given it, great friend!) will last until 3 1/2 at least.

Our garden has lots of corners, beds, nooks and crannies and lots of big trees in and around.

I use the mower as a ‘vac’ on the lawn, then use a ‘blower’ on suck only on the beds, hard standing, drive and corners that are tricky to rake. Don’t see the point in blowing, it just disperses everything.

Had a cheap petrol one, it was loud, hard to start, smelly and vibrated like crazy. Everything a man wants, but I hated it.

Got an electric one like this, begrudgingly very happy with it – for the size of our garden with a decent extension it’s loads better.

I was driving home up the M1 after a night out, about 3am. 2 mates asleep in the back, Mrs asleep in the front seat. I was fully alert, middle lane, slow right hand curve, saw something but brain couldn’t work it out. There was a ‘whoosh’ and the car jolted a bit…

Oncoming car in the fast lane of the M1, fast. We were in middle lane doing a reasonable speed. Closing speed was probably well over 160mph.

I didn’t really click what happened until I could see the tail lights disappearing.

    Terrifying.

Matrix signs lit up saying Oncoming Car, Keep Left. Called Police and they were on it, but how on earth can you intercept that? Drove on feeling scared and helpless but relieved.

Bit of a random ramble really but spent some time afterwards looking at how hard it is to get onto the wrong sliproad and how to prevent it. This guy we saw must have been trying, I reckon.

    Thoughts with driver families.

591 is great but depends on frame design. The clamp position can interfere with some pivot points and can be difficult to clamp, so worth checking if your frame has any pivots on the lower bit of the downtube.

Rock solid with my road bike though – and the Isla bike Rothan even fits in one!

Quite good fun. Compact, bit worse for wear and mainly focused on short up, short down and jumps so mostly ‘DH’. It’s bred some extremely good DH riders in its time!

A good all round set of sizes would be
these, hit your 10% plus an extra Homebase discount at the moment. Also in stock at ScrewFix.

    http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/stanley-fatmax-chisel-set—3-piece-315592

Maybe a single will do your job OK though, do you need a set or just one size?

Disclosure, I work for Stanely, the chisels are made in the UK, good steel, sharpened and honed and ready to go. Strong enough for chopping out and the blade won’t snap at the neck. Ball bearing steel for the blade, mild steel for the bolster – tough where you need it, bendy where you need that!

A cheap set will need sharpening and will be less durable but will get the job done.

I’ll now watch this thread with interest :)

    Nobeer – road trip, car and a van, 2 vehicles, 8 people…
Or 3 seats, trail and DH bike each so 6. Since when has one bike each been enough!

T5 Kombi SWB easily swallows 5 bikes with just the front wheel off behind the 2 row of seats.

    Loads.
Had 11 in my old SWB in bits.
    3 MX bikes fit!
DH bikes go in full length front to back fully built. Probably get 5 in a panel van, wheels on, no bother.
Went to the Alps in a crew cab LWB. 5 guys, kit, 9 bikes and spare wheels/tyres. Had to strip them, wheels off, air out and bars off though!

Blew my student loan on a ’93 Zaskar LE frame. Recently raided the parts bin and rebuilt it back to ‘working’ – all bits original and owned by me from new!

About 26lbs, was awesome to ride and took some hammer in the Peak District, BMX tracks, raced DH and XC on it!

Logo is screen printed on – comes off with brasso.

One side is rough, one smooth, so I still flipped it as my bike is kind of matt black so had the smooth side of the fender facing the mud for easy shedding and plain black matt side to match my bike.

Interesting, always found the Fountaine great but have heard mixed reviews. I really like it, but it does seem up and down.

Equally had a brilliant meal the the Devonshire Fell at Burnsall in the past and rooms look great but last time we went was dire. Food awful, staff had no clue and a rare complaint from us was left with a blank stare.

No 5 in Grassington is good service/food and rooms look pretty nice.
