Sealskinz with whichever shoes float your boat FTW

5.10s tend to soak water up and stay wet for days, AM40s/41s & Gravels are better for winter usage IMHO

IME, Strava is pretty inaccurate, but it’s all a laugh innit? As per Van Halen, sometimes the inaccuracy works in your favour, sometimes it doesn’t…

Really liked last night’s episode – it’s one of the first for a while that hasn’t felt like an hour-long advert for a house that you know is going to be put on the market as soon as the programme airs…

sorry to hear that – i was a bit worried after reading their shipping info which seemed a little vague!

Hope your order turns up soon :-)

what about the people who turn a blind eye to obviously stolen parts because they’re a bargain?

hope they catch the f*ckers goyawave :-(

Mine was an Asgard that got broken into last week – my pet theory is that they target Asgard sheds as they must reckon something valuable’s inside.

They definitely went at my Asgard with a plan and some proper tools – there have been 3 done over in Bristol in the last week to my knowledge.

In Dirt’s review of the Meta SX they said they weren’t concerned about the placement of the shock affecting its durability. Or something like that

Perhaps it’s something to do with their high resale value, their relative anonymity, the infinitely renewing supply created by insurance claims, and the no-questions-asked second hand market?

I’d love to pwn some bike thieves with some Bombers, but unfortunately they got nicked last Friday ;-)

Just read the report about that robbery in Downend, poor b*stard

Oh and just to be clear – I never, ever drive to the trails, so if I was followed it will have been via bike

I’m a LW/AC regular who got their bike robbed from their house last Friday
    Orange Blood nicked

The police were dead sure that I will have been followed back from the woods at some point, maybe even the night before.

I’m not sure you can be too paranoid at the moment – if it looks/feels dodgy, trust your instincts.

Surely the Vodafone example oft-quoted in this thread highlights the key moral question – should the government, via HMRC, allow Vodafone to withhold the tax they should have legitmately paid?

Personally i think not, but this has happened and over a cosy dinner by all accounts…

Just an fyi – I never drive to lw /ac, so if I was followed it may have been by bike.

    Thanks man.

I’m not a million miles away from you – i think there’s a fairly steady incidence of bike theft around here. The police stated that I will have been followed back from LW/AC at some point, no doubts.

The last one I had lasted a year (Saint), but the prior one (another Saint) lasted a good couple of years.

As above, it’s a piece of string question, but I think the last one got battered due to being ridden more/harder so didn’t last as long as the one before.

IME Shimano BBs are pretty durable, RaceFace bbs on the other hand… ;-)

Actually – any business and anybody can discriminate…… Nobody has to accept the business of (or the friendship of, or even the company of) anyone or everyone

not true – from the Home Office website:

Equality Act 2010 for lesbian, gay and bisexual people
It is illegal to discriminate on the grounds of sexual orientation when providing goods, facilities or services, in education, when selling or letting premises or when exercising public functions.

whether the discriminators (sp?) “say” or not, it’s illegal to discriminate for the reasona above.

Phone them? Best response I got from Orange was to get a wrench in my LBS to call them up – got the info/outcome I needed within 3 minutes. Bought them a bag of cookies, everyone happy, sorted :-)

    it’s a business, they can’t discriminate.

Jeremy Usborne: Right, the thing is, Hans, as I’ve said before, I really just think we should serve at least one lager, and nuts. You know, people like lager and nuts.
Super Hans: People like Coldplay and wanted for the Nazis. You can’t trust people, Jeremy.

As above, if the front end of your Enduro feels too tall, I’d go for a lower stack heaset, remove spacers, lower bars, flip stem before plumping for a new frame

    Good to hear :-)

I’d steer clear of BMX/p!sspot style lids as they can move around and are heavy. Flume etc as posted above are good and as you say, ratchet and buckles are easy for little fingers.

fit is king as you know – try some on in a shop and let your kid pick the colour.

I used to go 3-4 times/week when it was harder for me to commute by bike.
Found it very useful for “power” type riding – out of saddle steep climbs, sprinting etc

As above, a lot depends on the instructor – you’ll get more out of it if the instructor is shouty/badass/sadistic ;-)

people in work has reached a record high

is this paid work? being forced to work for free or benefits get stopped? working in Tesco with income propped up by tax credits?

the country is still in the sh!tter due to Tory policies but it’s OK because we’ve implemented the modern equivalent of the workhouse?

    that should do it ;-)
