There cannot be many places licensed to get that stuff I would hope so a paper trail should track down the culprit making them accountable will be the issue sadly

I didn’t nt think Sherlock is needed for this one, just look at which companies are on the banks of the canal?

Wont be the first time it’s been done either

I apologise all the time at work, it’s very effective at resolving complaints.

The most powerful ‘apology’ type work scenario Ive been involved in was where a colleague was made to look stupid in a meeting by a bully.

Fair play to the person who was bullied. She asked to speak with the bully, and asked me to go along. She didnt even ask for an apology. She just let the bully know how it made her feel. The bully went away very sheepish and actually changed their behaviour after.

I am sure that if the lady had asked for an apology the bully would still be behaving in the same way

For me an apology cannot really be solicited. It is implicit that an apology is given without being asked for.

Absolutely this. If someone has to point out the mistake/error to get an apology, then there is no sincerity behind the apology.

As part of the disciplinary process she was required to write a sincere letter of apology.  Her first effort was rejected by her manager as not being sincere enough.  She mentioned this to my friend who, while they were still chatting, sent her a block of tex

    Thats nothing more than bullying.

Get an ECU from a scrapyard, or steal one from a kuga they have in stock?

Id it’s still under warranty I would be asking for a courtesy car, or was it your fault it got wet ?

Another local shop has Haibikes but no idea if they are any good. Not a bike I see much when out riding the trails.

They have always been a bit on the ugly side, and to be fair were one of the pioneers of proper emtbs then lost their way. Not bad bikes these days.

But unfortunately at £3k any ebike is going to be a bit of a compromise.

You can get this for £3k, but I would imagine its a tad heavy.

Edit: Hmm not sure what has removable batteries !

Be very careful of the red mist. I was lucky to not be really hurt

Yep – when my alarm went off, the Police said we did the right thing by not trying to go and stop them.

At 3 I would be telling them to stay in bed or one of you gets up with them

As above why not just lock the door ?

the Occasional Jaunt to Gisburn Forest

Ive not been up there for a few years on my Giant Anthem 26er. I went back up and tested a load of modern ‘trail’ bikes. ie Spec Turbo Levo SL, Orbea Rise, Whyte E Lyte

Yes they were all ebikes, but what I did note was just how much more fun they made Gisburn just because they were more slack geometry. Now how that differs from this new Downcountry segment I dont know, but I definitely liked 160mm up front travel compared to 150mm and you could ride anything with out risk of over the bars moments.

So not that helpful, just dont discount trail bikes. Anyhow your bikes nearly brand new, why the need to change?

    https://personalalarms.com/shed-security/34-minder-pir-alarm-wireless-expandable-home-alarm.html

These are mega noisy. They used to do one that could be linked to an external siren too so if one unit was damaged the other would still blast out. Saved me from having bikes stolen.

I found 1 sensor enough inside the garage to cover the main garage door and a side door/window on a single garage

They have switches inside the siren and key fob, so I assume you could align 2 units to work off one remote. Probably Id check with a shop before buying, but for little money definitely works

By adding extra remote controls, Window sensors, PIR sensors and an SOS
Wristwatch the Mini Minder PIR Alarm becomes a fully functioning
    Wireless Home Security System.

So looks like you can pair up.

To be fair I guess at the old house we did put cardboard in and havent here. Small branch cuttings etc too then?

Yes I probably do need to turn more often too. Will try pee !

Are decomposing leaves class as brown?

    Edit – looked myslelf. Brown

At our old house we had no paper recyling so alot of it went in the composter, here just chuck in the recycling.. must be part of the big difference

Dehumidifiers arguably reduce the impact on the environment, it enables more efficient house heating, clothes drying and fewer damp repairs.

So do PIVs and cost pennies a year to run where as dehumidifiers are very very expensive.

    I reckon there’s a market for a fully automatic e-bike gearbox.

Shimano have been making autoshift motors/gears for about a year now.

    FunkyDunc

I’ve had both and found the dehumidifier more effective, flexible and, unlike the PIV, produces heat.

Then you cant have had it setup right. Never mind the cost to the environment

    How old are you?

There comes a point with running IMO where you have to accept that speed increase isnt going to keep coming, and as above, unless you are getting paid to do it, just try to enjoy it for what it is. You may actually find you get quicker.

Are you road running ? Try a different challenge ie off road fell races etc. You wont have any idea what time you should expect to get so all you can do is enjoy the run.

Rather than dehumidifier, try a positive pressure ventilation system (if it would work in your house) much better outcomes for the house and your health

    https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/positive-input-ventilation/

Its an odd time of year to be getting mould though. Are you not opening windows etc?

Welsh Boarders – a McDonalds opened in the local nearest town probably 7 miles away. Rubbish is now thrown out of car windows on our local roads.

We have a local green lane. Apparently the locals used to keep it all trimmed back and you could get a 4×4 down it, now you cant even walk down it.

The silly hedgerow cutting laws dont help, only certain times of the year you can cut hedgerows which means they all have to be done in the space of about 1 week.

Its also very very expensive to get people out these days to cut down tress etc. Our neighbours land is getting ridiculous, but they cant afford to get anyone to sort it out. They would also struggle to find someone to sort it out

We have gone Vispring  for all our beds. Still don’t get many years out of them but they are comfy, if not chuffing expensive for their bottom of the range

Tried to contact eversure and no response.

Just spoke to this company https://www.cycleplan.co.uk/ and got through to a human. underwritten by Aviva too. Cheaper than the above too and good reviews.

    Has anyone used

    https://www.eversure.com/cycle/

They are just a sales agent selling breakdown cover as well as bike insurance etc. The underwriters are a big company. Only want £140 to cover my bike compared to £270 from PedalCover.

Some of their reviews are bad to say the least, but is this just general internet ?

They look like EAV E-cargos to me.

    Electric Assisted Vehicles Limited (eavcargo.com)

When you look at the stats on those I am surprised they even move.

Dry weight 200kg approx. Max watts 600. Up to 31NM.

Might be fine in a very flat environment, but anywhere hilly no chance !

No windscreen wiper either, thats going to right annoy you when your flying along at 5mph ie no airflow to make the water bead off

Dont forget the Shimano motor comes with freeshift and autoshift too, and I think the DJI will have something similar ?

Sounds gimmicky, but it is the way the tech is going.

It just strikes me at the moment that we are still very much in the infancy of this market

I would agree with that I think we are still in the early days of iPhones where each one was a big step.

Just a pity that non of them are paying attention to reliability or backwards compatibility

GP suggested ibuprofen, physio actually dealt with the pain

The immediate thing you need to do is get on top of the pain, so doc is not wrong, it can also help if it is inflammation that is pressing on a nerve.

As above go see a physio and get professional advice.

Just note there are more causes of sciatica. I got it really bad when I started getting labral hip tears. I was compensating that much with muscles etc that I caused really bad inflammation that was trapping nerves.

I test road Whyte E-Lyte, Specialized Levo SL, Orbea Rise/s a couple of months ago.

The Shimano was the most natural feeling and powerful, the Bosch the most refined, the Levo the most weird.

The Bosch motor was the most refined, which is a hard thing to describe, but the equivalent of say a BMW/Merc over a Ford. Does the same job, but just slightly better in every way. However it made a weird noise when you stopped pedalling, and was the only motor to go into limp mode on the test route.

The Levo SL just simply felt outdated as though the competition has moved on. Great initial pickup (quite unnatural, but beneficial) . No tangible  difference between Med and High settings. No guts on long steep climbs compared to the other motors. The noisiest motor. The Levo SL was the bike I preferred out of them all, but the motor and battery combo was outdated and out gunned

I think I would buy a bike with the Bosch, but then the Shimano gives you full 85nm, and it looks like a few motors about to hit the market too will wipe the floor with the Bosch. As these bikes are so expensive I would wait and see what comes out rather than the Bosch

Wow, you get into some deep convos at work.

And in some cases thats a good and a bad thing.

I used to work for one of the countries largest Building Engineering companies at their Head Office. Every single employee was white British. There was no open racism, or poor culture. Someone employed a young Asian girl, again no comments, but lots of staring lots of odd behaviour around her. She was there about a month before she left, I assume she left of her own accord as no one spoke to her and it was clearly she was ostracised.

I do however think it is good to talk about difference and culture in the work place, that way you all begin to understand each other, but I do completely avoid politics/ the politics of race. Racism in the work place is very difficult to deal with. If its a good company racists tend to not be there as they wont fit the culture. If racism is discussed a lot thats a warning sign for me to get out as its ingrained in the organisation and its culture

I’ve never had Instagram / Twitter .  Been on Facebook for decades though

Prob about 4 months ago I joined Twitter  and Instagram as it appeared to be the chosen way my sons football teams communicate after matches ie match reports etc.

I guess I am quite difficult to feed lots of shite because they have no history on me.

Stupidly after the Manc Airport thing I watched one of the vids of the nice gentleman beating up the Police officers. Since then my feed has had alot of stuff on there that I have zero interest in and is violent, political etc etc.

I’ve considered coming off them all but need to stay on as its a useful source of info for my sons football.

ie even a more expensive hotel, and split the upgrade cost with them ?

Chicken Sunday roast , salad cream on the chicken breast, mixing in to the gravy

Nope don’t see the need but I am lucky to live where I do

I am also very wary of people who have car dash cams, many of them tend to be crap drivers

It does surprise me that modern cars don’t just record stuff as standard though. My car has full 360 deg cameras for parking which could easily record everything

Just tried Nationwide, their limit is £5k although they will put it through to underwriters. If you can be bothered to go through a telephone quotation process and wait up to 48 working hours for a response.
