I did an upgrade on my PC keeping all the files and programs intact with just a couple of requrements for driver updates. Doing the exact same procedure on Mrs Fruitbat’s laptop resulted in a world of mysery.

If you have an official Win 7 installation (and you know the activation code) you can get a free Win 10 updte from Microsoft.

I basically did what is described here – Update Win 10

I got the Giro Artex today and I’d say it’s almost identical to the Xar in terms of fit and overall size. I was worried that the MIPS insert would make the helmet bulky but this is not the case.

The visor is a similar size but not adjustable and the attachment is a bit more flimsy. Overall I’m very pleased with the new helmet especially as it’s a bit of a bargain at £49 from Merlin.

Mrs Fruitbat has an IXS Trail and seems to be a bit narrower and it is definitely not compatible with my head.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I’ve just ordered a Giro Artex from Merlin.

After I try it on it’ll be sitting in the box for a few weeks while my shoulder recovers :-(

Made a belt sander for the workbench. I had a spare motor and some 30 x 30 aluminium extrusion languishing in a corner. I made all the pulleys and shafts etc. I’ve still to make grinding rest and perhaps some guarding for the belts.

Artisanal craft beer to dip your beard in?

Is this perhaps an example of poor punctuation and should read – “Arti’s anal craft beer, to dip your beard in?”

If so, count me out! Arti can keep his beer.

Made a clamp on thingy to park handlebars when removing forks for servicing. I don’t like leaving the bars hanging by the cables and hoses.

My brother offered me an insight into the world of modern DE shaving. Apparently the thing to have is an Inkwell Razor Stand.
    Here’s one I made for him –

Fed up with squirrels destroying cheap bird feeders so decided to make my own.

Mesh is 1.2mm stainless so hopefully too tough for the squirrels. Other bits are aluminium so none of it will rust.

Happy Leon ST FR user here. (Sorry can’t answer your questions). Previously had the Hatchback, also with bikes on roof.

As you say a fairly enjoyable drive.

I use a Topeak Smart Head which fits Schraeder and Presta valves  You can also buy the head only.

Don’t get sealant inside it as it bungs up the works!

I don’t recommend the Topeak Twin Head as the Schraeder side doesn’t have a plunger that presses the valve pin inwards. Without the pin you are unable to bleed off air with the airline connected (assuming your gun has a bleed off valve).
