Well – ride time is 7 but will do it over 10 days I think? We’ll see what the other guys want but I’d rather take it a bit slower 🙂 Cheers TSY 🙂

I’d try either hammering a slightly larger torx head into the hole

Usually works for me also 🙂 But try a bit of penetration oil on it for a few hours before as well?

    @lipseal

    Yeah – he’s fine – 3 fractures in C1, non-displaced – so fine apart from a stiff neck and a brace for 10 weeks – fine now 🙂

I did my gonads 5 days before my wedding!

The stock pads are a PITA – the superstar Kevlars are much easier to put in IMHO 🙂 – I think the stock pads have a thicker pad and or back plate – Not the best solution but try filing a bit of the pad off ?

I’d still go for Std or semi-integrated for MTB – but I think a 1.5 tube it the way forward as you can fit any steerer combo – my HT has a 1.5 tube with a Hope reducer running a 1.5 and its spot on 🙂 If I want to fit any combo of fork I can 🙂

However a integrated is easier to fit and if you use stainless or ceramic bearings it’ll last ages – just needs more regular servicing on an MTB.

Yup – sounds about right Stumpy – basically the one piece stay takes up the movement in the back wheel d.t. to trail rumble and peddling but still give you the ability to set the shock to what you want 🙂

When I test rode it I did feel (as I was out the saddle for most of it) there was no bob at all with the shock fully open whilst still taking out the trail chatter – except for some areas of small brake bumps!

Yes unlike the stumpy (which I used to have a while ago) it doesn’t have a pivot at the rear chain stay/seat stay – which I like – one less thing to service 🙂 Although I am assured that Stumpies rear bearings are much better sealed than they used to be 🙂

All black except the drive train 🙂

Not wanting to quote script but:

Felt Active Stay Technology is a lightweight active suspension system created specifically for XC riding and racing. Featuring a lightweight, stiff carbon fiber rear triangle that doubles as a secondary spring to reduce unwanted bob without sacrificing small-bump compliance.

No history really – but Kaesae is quite opinionistic (arn’;t we all) 😉 And is very passionate about his bearings! I don’t think it was a personal jibe 🙂

But I agree with Stumpy – a lot of the performance of most suspension designs is modified buy the shock – The idea of the rear triangle on the Edict is you reduce trail rumble by the flex in the carbon stays and then the stays and shock consumes the bigger hits thus being a more responsive system?

From the horses mouth the theory is:

“FAST takes cues from the single-pivot suspension design that performance-minded XC riders favor because of light weight and reliability, and optimizes this tried-and-true system with a few new twists. It utilizes a set of carbon fiber stays that flex evenly throughout the suspension travel, providing performance characteristics that mimic much more complicated suspension systems—but without the extra weight and complexity.”

I was using the comparison of the Five as its a very popular and lovely riding bike and again is a truely single pivot.

Bit like the Orange Five then? Felt good when I test rode it Kaesae 🙄

I expect you’ll say they use crap bearings next?

How about a Lezyne Powerdrive – bit over budget unless you can use a voucher code? 300 lumens – £RRP 79.99

Supposed to fit the Xposure helmet mounts.

The R4 is very small in comparison to the old Vision 4 – I took some piccies in my article if you want to compare – seems plenty bright but not experienced one in the course of a night ride though!

I did hear, when I booked them in, that he was pretty full till the 24th October but if he has cancellations etc then? – I’d give him an email and he might be able to squeeze you in?

    info at locotuning.co.uk

I prob would have probably tried to install the FIT Cart myself if I could get it but as the bushings needed adjusting etc he was the best port of call!

Cool, although I think when the box goes above a combined dimennsion total of 60 inches or something it goes Parcel Force.

I found out that its the insurance that really puts the cost up!

I have posted all my frames (quite a few ) – Std parcel by wrapping them in bubble wrap and several bin liners with the std tube, bb and drop out protectors – all been fine and gets around the maximum dimensions that would be an issue with a std bike box – (and lighter)!

I gave up with trousers, my legs are waterproof 🙂 – but use a light waterproof shell – paclite.
