Drac, you can get those little panning shots as an effect on windows movie maker, so i thought he might’ve done that.

never, it becomes a monster cross apparently

anyway OP, cant you race around on the back streets were the snow is a little compresed, but still rideable, could be quite fun.

forcing me to do a chainring shift to access either end of my previously easily accesible ratios?

nail > head. this is why im sticking 3×9.

the way i see it, granny ring – uphills, middle – flat, big – downhill, i then use the cassette to trim the gearing. with 2 up front if you run out of gears on the little cog, you shift up on the front but then have to shift the chain right the way across the cassette to get the gear you want (does that make sense, its late…)

also if anyone can point me in the direction of a ramped 40 tooth cog for the front i would be very grateful.

ive got the 2.4 protection version. nice tyre. fast on the hard stuff, but also able to bite in when the trail gets a bit softer. 2.4 is fairly big(ish), but not ridiculous. id probably get two 2.4 instead of the 2.2, but i run as mahoosive a tyre as i can get away with on the rear (currenly rolling on a 2.4 rubber queen 8) )

black chilli compound is brill, grippy and quick, nuff said.

tyre goes for more of a drifty feel when really lent over, not a bad thing and its super easy to control. straight line traction is top notch.

mine is used as a summer tyre, overall 7.5/10 (bearing in mind 5/10 is an ok tyre)

bit late on this reply but…

granted i didnt take into account im renting a room, rather than an entire house (uni) but still.

    rent: £65 a week, £3120 a year (living with 4 others)
    food: £25 a week, £1200 a year

leaves £680 for bills and other stuff. ok maybe 5 grand was pushing it a bit, but my point is that people dont realise how little you can actually survive on.
