Shim it. They can be hard to find but USE do a 30.9-31.6 shim for not much money.

Edit: oops, just reread the post – got a bit mixed up didn’t I 😳

Ok, fair enough – I can see some plusses to it but, I don’t think a lot of owners would be happy with a pup being injected in the ear, plus you have the accepted standard of between the shoulder blades for scanning now. I also refuse to accept that migration is any more than an uncommon inconvenience which very rarely requires intervention in routine use.

I don’t follow your last comment though re tail docking – are you suggesting that’s a “lost income” now it’s been banned or that vets have to do it in the rare cases it’s allowed (a whole different argument!). Either way, I have only ever met a handful of vets who would even consider docking tails, before or after the “ban”. But then I guess we’re straying OT again.

Zulu Eleven you do have some interesting opinions there.

Microchipping is never going to be a “Money spinner” for vets. Not the amount most charge for it anyway.

As for migration, it’s very rare for it to happen at all, and for it to get to the point where it actually causes problems is significant more unlikely (never seen a migration where I’ve actually had to do anything about it in 15 years. Chipping in the ear may make it less likely to migrate but would frequently need sedation and has other risks associated with it (plus easier to remove if you’re looking at all the potential problems)

Don’t normally comment on this sort of thing but yunki – I think you need to check your sources. 2k per hour? Where on earth have you plucked that from?

And as for profit from microchips. Most practices do it for very little mark up and the dogs trust are apparently going to do it for free (misuse of donated funds?)
    Still long overdue though.

Great helmets at a bargain price – rode in one most of this year.

The goatshed looks an amazing place but unfortunately a bit far out for us. Maybe we should reconsider our venue as there seem to be a lot of cracking chalets up that valley

Would love to seen a headcam pointing back and up of that – amazing

There’s going to be 8-10 of us so don’t really fancy an apartment, plus we’d rather stay close to Bourg – there’s a bit more going on in the evening and it’s nice to finish the day with a descent, not having to worry about last lift times 🙂

We looked into this a lot as we wanted something that would be reliable, tow 2 horses & trailer safely and be reasonably economical. We ended up with a Kia Sorento and haven’t regretted the choice.

Just as an update. I’ve emailed several of those suggested chalets, including the chillchalet – no replies from any of them 1 week later… Guess they’re all tied up with the proper season 🙄

The black/silver/red one looks lovely imho. First helmet I’ve wanted based on looks alone.

I was in the same position but, after the farce that was the December “Ltd edition” lottery, I’ve been really put off the brand. The added uncertainty of international money transfers etc etc and I think I’ll keep an eye on the 2nd hand market instead.

That said, I’m sure you will get a great bike for an amazing price – you’ll just have to wait a fair bit for it. It’s a real shame they seem to have alienated so many people with their marketing stunt last year.

I put a similar post up here and got a few suggestions.

Hmm. Well we’re looking at going the 6th July (they opened that weekend last year I see). Surely they can’t be opening any later than that……… oh, wait, France!

    fbk

Yeah – fair comment. Plus this is France – there’s plenty of time to sort a timetable out. And they probably won’t stick to it anyway 🙄

Just as an extra question. I don’t suppose anyone knows when the lifts open this summer? The websites all seem to be quoting 2012 dates still

Wow, chill chalet looks nice but a bit pricey tbh. I guess summer & s/c is cheaper but even so.

    Anything a little more simple?

To be honest, we camped last year for the MoH – very lucky with the weather but I think we want a bit more luxury this year 😉

Thanks for the suggestions guys – the Loft & Chill chalet both look interesting. Any more?

I got the latest version for Christmas and it’s lovely. Basically an iphone 5 without the phone bit.
It replaced a 2nd gen one I may be selling if you’re interested 😉

You need to update via Kies (connected to a PC/laptop) as Orange took the “update phone” tab off the phone!

And the latest (last?) version of MMTracker works fine on 4.1.2 (the latest version of Jelly Bean) whereas it didn’t work on the latest version of ICS (IME).

Wow! I never thought I’d see the day when I sided with the Piers Morgan! I feel dirty!

Quite like the whole deport piers petition idea though

I had the same problems with my old CRs – careful bleeding would help but they were never 100%. I believe there was a design problem which made them an absolute sh1t to bleed fully (air bubbles could hide away).

I took them to the SRAM tech stand at the Moutain of Hell last year after getting royally pissed off with them pulling to the bars randomly mid descent – they replaced them with the 2012 version and I’ve not had a single problem since. Might be worth speak to SRAM direct?

Hmm – interesting points about the clicking. Mine’s recently got quite loud so I guess it needs a service. I emailed BOS who said some clicking was normal but if it’s become louder then it probably needs a fix.

Oh I entirely agree it’s a very smart move – obviously creates a lot of buzz around the name etc etc. I also agree it was always going to sell out fast. It just seems a bit sh1tty that folk who ordered as soon as they possibly could have been refused. Maybe Europe is just full of people with faster fingers (and possibly an extra hour given the time difference)

Another vote for the forks. XMC 130s in the past; XMM 140s now – love them both

Another vote for Evoc. You pay a premium for them but it’s worth it.

I agree – you normally get a reply almost straight away acknowledging an order.

If in doubt, just order it again and drop them an email – they’ve always been good when I’ve had to change/alter orders.

Must, ignore, post……especially as I put a £100 order in 2 days ago! At least I got £15 off that 🙂

Hmm – maybe they “binned” the lights once they checked the packaging? A couple of packages have gone missing on their way to me via royal mail recently. They probably got “binned” too!

    Just saying like!

Had a tz6 which I liked. Replaced it with a Sony equivalent and love it. Just a bit more refined.

I’ve got the 30L Freeride trail and love it. I tend to use my Lobo more as it’s a lot smaller but the Evoc just fits sooo much better. The waist strap holds everything much more securely, the pockets are really well thought out and the back protector is a great bonus too. Plus it’s designed to hold a full face helmet/armour externally via adjustable straps.

What’s not to like (except the price but I got it in a sale)?

Agree with the OP but rear ones are far far more annoying. It’s not foggy, I can see where you are coz I’m only about 15yds behind you on a single carriageway road…..turn the F’ing things off……please 🙂

    Yeah just noticed this.

Can folk please buy these before my will power fails me!
