    Another C&B Seen user here.

A lot of riders in the group I ride with have them with 0 complaints from anyone.

    I couldn’t help a fixie rider…I just couldn’t

Me either or anyone who’s jeans are so tight they can just about squeeze in a fashionable lock and not carry anything else. Anyone else I’m more than happy to ask if they’re ok and offer assistance.

All my HH lifa base layers are Polyprop, they’re great as thermals the only downside it they stink after 1 ride.

However my Howies Merino gets wet and stays wet, so if you stop you get cold quickly. On the up side it doesn’t smell as much.

I don’t have any Polyester base layers just road jerseys, so don’t have an opinion on their thermal properties.

Merino is great for walking and maybe touring where you’re not going full pelt but not mcuh cop for fast rides.

    That’s in my experience.

that oil ring is normal on maggies if its not there put oil in the lowers!!

Thanks for clearing that up. 😳

I can see the seals little bubbles/foam when around the stanchions when they compress is that normal as well or do they need a service?

By the way this is when I’m stationary.

I’m running Thors on my Mojo (I replaced the Pikes it came with) and they’re brilliant. Massive weight difference between the 2, but no difference in the performance.

Main reason for swapping was weight, I was winding the pikes in for climbing but with the Thors I don’t have to. The FCR is pretty good as well, but I’ve not used it as the bike climbs brilliantly.

Bit of a hijack but I noticed a an oil ring on both stanchions so seals need replacing. Can I ask who offers a better service magura spares or race mechanic?

BF3, although I’ve not played in months but the 6 months before that I played it for a couple of hours a night. Is the massive upgrade worth getting?

I’m waiting for the new Metal Gear Solid games, which look pretty pretty pretty good.

I’ve got RX, which are a lower versions and they are great.

I’ve also got Exlir Rs, Juicy 7s and Hope mini m4s. The Formulas are my favourites easily as much if not more power than my Hopes. They’re much ‘bitier’ than the others but you soon get used to the way they feel.

They seem very well built, maybe not as serviceable as Hopes. But if I had the cash I’d fit them on all my bikes. Not sure about bleeding though (not had to do that yet), but they can’t be as tricky as Avids.

It looks like Ethiopian Jews have more of right to be in Isreal than a lot of the Europeans who have holiday homes there.

, Queen Sheba decided to visit him, taking with her gifts of gold, sapphires and ivory. Although she was received with honour, on the last night of her visit Solomon tricked her into sleeping with him and she returned to Ethiopia pregnant with a son. Beynalekem was born in Sheba’s capital Aksum and when he grew up he went to seek his father in Jerusalem. Solomon recognised and acknowledged him as his son and educated him in the art of kingship.

I used some boring old LX square tapers with a fancy Hope 32t ring.

TBH anything semi decent crank should be fine.

Middleburn might cost you around £70 secondhand.

    Do you need new cranks?

Put a wanted ad in the classifieds, you might be able to get some decent one at a good price.

I’d recommend you get a 1/8 chain. KMC S1 much cheapness at the moment (2.88), if you can live with a brown chain that is

I’ve not seen this thread before, but came across it yesterday.

It’s awful what you’re going through, it’s such a horrible f***ed up situation. I’m so sorry for your loss.

That’s all I can say really, my thoughts are with you and your family.

    You’re remarkably brave.

If we ever meet and ride together I’ll be the one buying you a beverage.

    Stay strong.

I’m nearly at the end of the velcro, top and bottom. So when they break in they’ll be a chunky pair of shin pads.

Anyone want a pair in small?

    eyerideit

Jeans are off, pads are on.

Now for the up and down the stairs 3 times and sitting at the kitchen table test.

Tightish fit but that was expected…should slacken off after a bit of use, top bargain

How much do they slacken? Mine are small and aren’t the tightest of fits, so when they give they’ll be too loose. 🙁

So maybe I’ll have a pair by this evening!

Sounds like the shot blocs are pretty popular. I’ve not tried thm myself but I have had the flapjacks, the crunchy peanut butter ones are nice enough but as soon as I have a bite I get heartburn.

Which flavor blocs are the best?

My personal favorate food for an all dayer is peanut butter, banana and honey rolls/baps, the only thing is they’re not exactly handy to eat on the move.

Electrolyte – OJ or squash with touch of salt and sugar

With bits or smooth, Watered down?

Homemade electrolyte sounds good, how many tpsn per litre of salt? Squash already has loads of sugar some not sure if extra would be needed.

Ordered a small pair on Friday, money taken out of account yesterday. Rang today to check if they’d been dispatched, turns out they’re out of stock, person who took my order obviously didn’t realise, very apologetic, and will be refunded.

What time Friday did you order?

I ordered small as well, so If by some freak chance I get mine and I’m not happy with them you’re welcome to them.

Not heard a peep from them since Friday, they’re probably wading through a tsunami of orders.

No money taken from my account as yet either.

I rode both my rigid SS and FS at CyB over Christmas. Both were great, but I’d be a bit nervous of the black rock gardens on a it. It was brilliant on the reds though. Local riding Epping is perfectly doable on a rigid bike.

I do get spat off at least once a ride, usually it’s one of them ‘if i had susspension forks’ I’d still be riding moments but it’s mostly down to bad line choices.

I rode the XC trail and some of the tamer downhills at Aston Hill rigid.

    I wasn’t having a pop at you.

Just the whole ridiculous insurance thing that’s all. On that train of thought they’d be voiding policies because people fitting their own wiper blades next.

You could DIY, but I wouldn’t be surprised if your insurance co wanted it installed by a competent installer.

Eh, what’s it got to do with the insurance company? I’m not fitting a performance upgrade.

Do I have to notify them that I will be carrying a child or something?

Thanks for the answer ac282, I’ll put the money I save towards ‘other’ baby related purchases.

Have you thought about a Sanderson? My Soloist is really nice to ride – comparable in springyness to my Explosif.

The 853 Life frame is really nice, same geo as mine, so the handling should be as good if not better as my Soloist is just the ChroMo version.

Slightly Cheaper than a Soul and a bit more exclusive.
