Loved the picnickers nearly getting taken out by the people in wing suits. Anyone got anything else quite so inspiring?

    Thank you.

No, bought frame only and come from a Float R so not used to all the adjustments.

    Anyone? [list]

Wiggle do something similar in terms of listing. Anyone else agree i’m safe to assume that unless it says GXP 83mm, it’s a 68/73mm width?

I’m not sure now. Sram say otherwise – http://www.bikeradar.com/news/article/sram-x0-dh-downhill-groupset-first-look-30783/

Also, CRC have this listed http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=74776 which is different from the gpx one I have ordered

Honourablegeorge – that was exactly my thinking. Despite the description, there is no bb either!

Can I ask what method you used for inflating the tyres? My Speciallized went on and blew straight up. The Conti’s however don’t seem to want to stay seated on my Flow rims however hard I pump them. Is it best to leave a tube in over night to ensure a proper interface with the rim/tyre and to ensure the bead is straight? Any other tips?

Went on Saturday and perfectly rideable. Was wet with puddles in places but on the whole good. Was lots of fun.

The full lifts is the Portes Du Soleil region don’t open until the end of June however, the main lifts in and around Morzine and Les Gets open about a month earlier.

Comments re: 142×12 back end are sensible. I’ll probably sit tight under the circumstances.

Thinking about getting one myself. Is it worth waiting for the 2012 models with the 142×12 rear end or should I jump now and get a deal? Also, is the suspension considered dated?

That’s fine. First time in the Alps so plenty of new stuff in both Les Gets and Morzine to have a go at. Hope to finish the hols by completing the PPDS

Pro-ride video is awesome. I’ve been up to Stainburn quite a few times and it’s not as easy as those guys make it look.

Agreed, some of the stuff over the road is great.

Being a bit of a peaks noob I couldn’t tell you the exact route by name, although I know the route in my head (if that makes sense?)

    See this thread: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/peaks-pootle-24th-september-edale-1000am

All told its about 18 miles or so. You’re more than welcome to join us if you’re up and about early enough.

Scratched the itch today. Did Cut Gate for the first time – end up doing about 50 miles by the time i’d ridden to Langsett, done the loop and ridden home. Really suffered at a few points but with the weather as it was, it was a great day out.

From Langsett am I better going straight over or towards hingcliff hill and which is the better way back? At ladybower, which is the most fun way to go round?

Music to my ears (Langsett being the closest place to start from my house)

I’ll weigh it over the weekend and let you know.

Ha, ha – I noticed that. I was with you and the guy on the Commencal on the way back up Mam Tor.

Thanks for the info , seems to be a big country only bike, I’ll see if I can try one and see where it goes,

The new one seems to be more ‘big country’ as you put it but I wouldn’t let that put you off. The grin factor alone might be worth the extra weight etc.

The Patriot was mine – it’s an ’08. Weighs in at about 32-33lbs but isn’t a “light” build in terms of parts tbh. Float front and rear with burly bars and stem, Stans flow rims and big volume tyres. Could go lighter but like thisisnotaspoon says, what’s the point? Managed most of the ascents with 9 gears (not quickly mind) but sure was fun on the descents!

Thing with the ’08 (and poss ’07) was the adjustable geo – you can set it as steep or as slack as you like!
