What hubsize do you need? assume 142 x 12 rear and 15mm front or would it be 20mm front? XD or shimano freehub?

OP, to add something useful to this thread, i can vouch for how good these guys are at carbon repair having seen their work on a mates Stumpy.

if you don’t want anything fancy, you could speak to them and send it in for a repair. it’ll be as good as new for a couple of hundred at absolute most.

thats happened to me and mates on teh first ride of a new bike before. it sucks, but is what it is, impact damage.
Ask them for the crash replacement details and move on.

be careful, they might sue you for having a forum name that is similar to one of their pedals…

Normally with impact damage they offer a crash replacement. depends where the crack is and if it could have been caused by an impact. if its directly on the bottom of the BB then that is unlikely as impacts there would be from the front 45 deg.

Agree with Hob Nob on all counts. my ones are in great nick on the uppers, barely worn, but the sole is bubbling up and lifting where the pedal pins have gone through and water has got in.
    Shame as they are ace

Nanos are bloomin awesome and in a shameless plug, I have a hardly used set for sale as I just sold my cross bike.

lol. just get the chainring spacers… whilst i am sure the above is a bit tongue in cheek, pressfit BB’s are fickle at best, hammering them out to refit later is only ever going to result in a rubbish fit and even earlier failure.

Just the trails are not getting the break they need given how wet it is.

Winterfold Was pretty knackered when I was up there sunday

1mm chainring washers between the chainring and the tabs to move the ring inwards. Might need longer bolts if more than 1mm needed, but it’ll work fine.

Says the SRAM fanboy backing up a just announced groupset… Xt has been out for months. And yeah, some of us are lucky enough to know…

If it stays dry for a few days it should be OK, the minute it rains it just awful.

I’d avoid it for a few more weeks, its utterly ruined up there at the moment.

This looks like SRAM attempting to gain more OEM builds than aftermarket.
In the aftermarket area, i can’t see anyone being mad enough to buy this over XT when its basically the same price, especially as they’ve done away with the one redeeming feature of SRAM 11speed, the 10t cog. Lets not forget XT is the range equivalent of X01 and is far better built than Anything SRAM has put out, pretty much ever..

Never understood the love for Vaults or any DMR pedal. they’ve always failed in very short order (some on the first ride)
I highly rate the Specialized Boomslang, utterly brilliant pedal that flat out refuses to break or develop any play after months and months of use.

just a quick update to let anyone who’s thinking of doing this that it works fine and chops almost 2″ out of the overall rigid height of the post.

the thing with a longer bike is you can always pull the reach figure back with a shorter stem

dare i say it they both look far too small.

yeah, exactly that, just unscrewed the broken part and replaced with some better ones. other than that, its perfect

I have a volare 20, with Veloce and Zonda wheels. not quite the 853 frame tubing but next tier down.

I find it really comfy, its nicely made, just watch the cable barrel adjusters on the headtube as mine snapped easy, simple to replace though.

plenty stiff enough for me and i’m 90+kg and can churn out quite a bit of power, i.e i don’t notice any flex where as i can normally twist a frame quite easily.
As i said, despite being stiff its plenty comfy for long distance, not as comfy as some more distance oriented frames, but for its type, its not half bad.

    Plus, they look awesome!

warranties are with where you bought it from, so if you got it from the lbs, go back to them and get it sent back.

Warranty. Don’t even bother with trying to service it. 3 months old and already knackered. Still, it lasted 2.5 months longer than mine did…
Oh and you can’t add air, its a sealed unit that has to be repressurised by the service centre.

worn bearings are also one of the main reasons that some frames crack more than others… the extra load required to move the pivots causes a lot of stress leading to the frame eventually cracking.

i’m 6’2″ and went from 175 to 165 on my enduro bike, much prefer it. keep them if the length is your only worry, you’ll rejoice at the extra pedal/ground clearance!

If its anything like my old Mondraker that was £80’s worth of bearings every 3 months
shock bushes every year along with at the least one shock seal kit.

some designs are far far better than others when it comes to longevity. can’t comment on the Giants from personal experience, but the bearings are in roughly the same place as my Mondraker, but the shock is more protected.

I’m running the Juin Tech calipers with 105 sti’s and they are bloomin awesome. 80-90% of the power of hydros. if you have levers you like i can’t recommend them enough

i just use mine to keep an eye on my HR whilst riding using my garmin, not for training. purely for medical reasons. if it gets too high i ease up.

had the same happen to me years ago, dented the rear wing, punched out the rear light and snapped the rear spoiler and the chap drove off. i was unhurt surprisingly. chalked it up to a lucky escape not having to pay for all the damage.

just check your forks/frame for hidden damage if they are carbon and got hit, last thing you want is for the frame/fork to collapse on you

mine had a check valve failure that rattled from new. they never felt very good. went back to Mojo after a few weeks and had it replaced and essentially a service. transformed them.
service intervals are pitifully low, more so in the muck of winter.

I’ve got a Loki too, before Loki became a movie character.

Also got a Sprocket, he’s more expensive than any bike i’ve ever owned, by a factor of 10. must have no more than 2 lives left. run over, fell off a roof, blocked gut, shot in the head etc etc. he’s either stupid or hard as nails. not sure which.

i’ve got tonnes of length left as it came off a Large mondraker, could probably plumb two bikes up with it!

it is definitely over an inch and for once, that inch will make all the difference…
