Some great suggestions. Think first port of call should be citizens advice.

I’ll have a look at the working times regulation at some point today as well.

    Cheers!

Paid holiday, but out of next years entitlement.

She’s a hairdresser, there are quiet times and buster times. It’s her first propper full time job, and she is the newest one there.

It sounds like she is intimidated by her boss. Not nice.

I’m on the south coast, just outside of Portsmouth.

Will consider physio if pain carries on.

Although, I realised my seat wasn’t straight when I went out this morning and, after straightening it, irritation whilst riding has all but disappeared. Bit of a dull ache now, but not as bad as saturday.

    I feel guilty.

To the point where I will rather go in and get sent home, than phone in.

But I’m not sure if I would do that now with an hors cycle each way…

You could see if they will service your unit and put a new battery in. I’m sure it wouldn’t be too expensive.

I have the new Toro, wonderful light, bright enough for everything I do and the burn time indicator and light modes are great.

Its weight, size and the fact that you can have so many books with you are the biggest factors.

It’s small enough to leave in the bag, even when you don’t think that your going to use it.

I’ve read twice as many books since I got it.

Not sure what I would do without it!

    Mine was delivered last week.

Lovely bike, only had one ride on it though so far.

It’s heavy, but I wouldn’t say it was hard to get the rear wheel off, even with mudguards on.

Ill let you know how it is tomo when I’ve been out again!

Great thanks, that solves that one.

    Nice one Trustyjust

Do they fit exactly the same, or is there a spacer needed?

    Yeah the pawl springs.

And I presume they are the genuine hope kit.

Can’t remember the last time that I turned mine off. Just close the lid when I’m not using it. Never had an issue.

Should have put context in there as well.

You can be both hypo and hyper thermic, but they were referring to being too cold- i.e Hypothermic but instead saying hyperthermic.

I saw a box of hyperallergenic tissues once, seemed a very shrewd business model.

    Genius.

Balls, I was too busy imagining how I would teach him the difference.

I will try harder next time, promise.

Just realised that it doesn’t make much difference anyway, as the seat tube angle is identical, as is chain stay length. There is 5mm difference in top tube and 1 cm in head tube, which can be adjusted with spacers and stem.

So regardless of the size, the saddle is going to be in the same place relative to the bb.

Going to go for the 52 cm. Sorted.

Decided to go for a Genesis Day One Alfine, as I can get them direct from Madison through work and they seem perfect for what I want it for.

Have started a new thread on sizing over here any help greatly appreciated!

Thinking of going the build you own route.

    The crosslight pro 6 (£449)
    shimano 105 groupset (£420),
    BB7 brakes (£100),
    superstar wheels (£320)

Leaves £200 for tyres and finishing kit.

Seems like much better value than most of the bikes I have seen above. If I can pick up bits second hand can save even more.

    Some top suggestions, thanks!

Ill have a proper look when I get in, hard to follow all the links on my phone.

I appreciate that it’s not ideal to have mudguards on when riding of road. At the moment my commute is just on roads, it’s dark both ways. But when it lightens (and drys) up it will be nice to mix it up.

Tempted to build my own, the crosslight pro six looks great. I just know that it would end up costing me more this way, perhaps not in the long run though.

Keep the ideas coming, much appreciated.

    Cheers for the replies.

The dirty disco looks great, but as Moses has said it doesn’t take guards.

Looked at the canondale, I’m probably need a 52cm frame (I’m 5foot7), which tredz don’t have, not sure if anywhere else has them.

Need to try a bike for size really, not sure if I will need a 52 or 54cm frame.

Ill check out the other thread.

Any one that rides coed-y-brenin on a hardtail must be some sort of riding god

I would love to have a go on a tr double, looking at it I’m just not sure it would be as fun after dragging up the nth hill as it was after the first.

The tr Bandit looks great to though.

Cheers for the opinions, its been an interesting read as always!

I think I’m going to get on with enjoying my hardtail down here in the south and just think of my five as a bike for things when I go away.

Although, saying that I have been looking at Giant Trances, they sound good…

I guess I’m suffering from a combination of bike and location disillusionment. Having lived in North Wales last year, and moved back down south in September.

I need to move house, not change the bike…

tracknicko, sounds like the Decade Virsa I have, perhaps I should get rid of it and get something more boring, so I enjoy the five more…

International Richard think you have hit it on the head, what did you get when you sold your five?

Bagstard, ride the hardtail all the time, I think its more the guilt f having a bike that I very rarely ride that bugs me.

Crashtestmonkey, your right there are plenty of lightweight 120mm bikes, but they are all fairly light weight. Why spend £££, well I have £££ worth of bike that I never ride so I guess thats why.

trickiest bit is making sure that the line is stable. Bit of playing around and should be good.

I have set one up using two pieces of 2×4 holding the slackline off the ground, tensioned against two pieces of 50 cm angle iron at each end.

That worked fine. Hope that helps!

We are not to far off the £10000 bike, the scott scale and Spark are £8799 http://www.evanscycles.com/products/scott/spark-sl-2012-mountain-bike-ec030782#features

Got to say, there are some cracking deals out there though, Rockshok forks, Sram 9speed kit etc.

It’s over twice the price of the BB mount version.

It is a good job that I wasn’t after one!

I have a superstar BB mount and an E 13 BB, can’t tell the difference on the bike, the e 13 does look better though…

Right there are some routes here that I have used with groups over the last few weeks.

They are in .mmo format and.pdf, but can be converted using GPS Babel

    Enjoy!

I have a few, what format do you need them in for tracklogs?

    daveagiles

Ah that makes more sense, i-can looks alright, but I guess it relies on having a fast enough BB connection.

Edit: Never used one so I’m not much use really…

If you already have a PS3 wont that do everything that you want the i-can to do?

I use Cobian backup 10, which is set to backup files to an external HDD and windows live skydrive, which I have mapped as a network drive.

Really flexible and works what more would you want!

WordPress if you don’t use all the google guff.
