The Force chainset is a nice bit of kit. I have a Sram red chainset on my Supersix and a spare Force chainset taken off a bike I sold and I can’t tell the difference. I like Sram, in my view lighter and better looking than Shimano stuff. The Force has unused 50/39 compact sram red powerglide chainrings on it and is 172.5 arms. I am going to sell it as I don’t use it and it is like new. It’s BB30, £125.00 posted if you’re interested or wait for it to go on ebay in a couple of weeks and have a punt.
I just got a kili cromo to replace an alloy frame and the ride is fantastic. There is more weight in the frame, about 800 grams, but the feel of the frame is much more supple on the trails. I don’t feel as battered on the downhills at speed as the back end rides the bumps instead of crashing off them. Mines a 15″ frame though so the big ones may be a bit stiffer.
+1 for Nukeproof Electrons. I bought some last week at Llandegla when I forgot to pack my spd shoes. After 20 years of spd’s I was converted and they’re staying on the bike. Just need some shoes now instead of trashing my trainers.
I’ve been looking for a while too. I was hoping they’d be down to £250 now but looks like this is as low as they’ll go. The force are the same price so it’s a good deal.
I bought 4 for a tenner off ebay and they’re great. Had a choice of warm or bright light (went for bright) and at 4-5 watts per bulb a big saving on halogens. I bought from a seller who listed as being in Manchester but they came from China. Took 9 days so no problem. I would guess that all the LED bulbs in Ikea, B&Q and local stores are made in China anyway so buying off ebay isn’t going to get you anything much different.
I got one of these and it’s great. i wore it on my ride on Sunday when it was cold and with a base I was nice and toasty. I now have two as I got M to start with but it was a bit tight so ordered a L. I am about to return the M but if you like it and it’s your size I’ll do you a deal to save me the bother. I only tried it on and haven’t worn it. It’s the green/white/black and has 3 pockets at the back for snacks/stuff.
I’ll be interested to hear what people think after they’ve been. I went last year and it was a waste of time and money. Not enough big brands, no bargains to buy. In fact not much of anything to buy. The test track was a bit of sectioned-off patio outside the hall and it was either a long wait for the bike you really wanted to try or take what they’ve got. There were 9 year old kids being given 20″ commuter bikes just to get them outside. Rip-off for parking and food and I went on the Friday so had to suffer on the M6 northbound commuter gridlock to get home. Never again.
Yes. I have looked at Virgin, BA and Thompson for May/June and July/August and no deals yet. I don’t know if it’s all the taxes and the fuel costs starting to have an impact but it’s a big increase over the last couple of years. If anyone has any tips on where to find a good flight or fly-drive deal post it up.
They’ll be fine. Get some. i made my own from cut offs from old bars and wooden dowling to jam in the bars. They are great as long as you use double lock on grips.
I got sent one from work and it’s the first smartphone I have used and I find it simple to use and have never read the manual. Great for emails and the camera is good. Also has gps so you could set up a sat-nav as well.
Thanks for the reply Carlos. I’ll phone those on Monday and see what they think. I read Sheldon and it all looks a bit tricky, chemicals and cutting etc. so that’s why I thought I might leave it to the professionals.
