Like disconnecting hoses to bleed brakes ?

I dont bleed brakes, and I dont understand the fetish with doing it.

    Its unnecessary 😀

Hopes on our bikes do this if turned upside down,

    Get them bled right.

Will still happen with any brake if you dont roll your diaphragm !!

IIRC there was an issue with master cylinders seal. May be worth checking, sending back to Hope.

I think mr ATP you are missing the point, I haven’t had the need to bleed a brake system for over 3 years.
Because I have closed brake system, much the same as everyone else. If I need to do some work on the system I just empty it and then fill it making sure that I dont put any air into the system, especially when I put the diaphragm back in

Good to hear that it worked, I spent hours doing the
    1/4 turn open
    pump lever
    1/4 turn close
    repeat
    check reservoir, sh1t its empty
    start again
    repeat.
Only to find when I finished a brake significantly worse than before I started and a floor/bike/shoes full of fluid

Agree (sort of although when I bleed brakes then I effectively replace all the fluid with new stuff). But why disconnect the hose to do this ?

Start with an empty system, then fill from bottom up thats all. It works for Shimano and is effectively what you do with Avids.

Dot listen then, spent lots of time bleeding brakes its pointless. Just filling with brand new fluid is the best way to sort brakes.

Good question, I cant get my Maxxis advents to seal

    Dales_rider

    Dont, just do this

    Dales_rider

    Dont bleed em.
Just push the pistons right back, take the hose off the caliper and the reservoir cap off and pump the hose and res empty.
Bit of tubing a syringe and some new fluid, fill the syringe and tube full of fluid [do the hospital thing of get all the air out of syringe and tube] Reconnect hose and fill the system through the bleed nipple till the res is full. Dont forget roll your diaphragm.

Oh one point best of luck with Co2 cartridges, despite the fact that there are usually 100 to 200 of them on a plane they still question the safety of them.

Rode with this very nice Lady in October, I was awarded an Olympic medal in “Belly sucking in”

Also a previous [in yellow] winner of the Vuelta, even at 73 kept to the front at average 18MPH for 80 Miles.

Year before that it was a Tour winner, not friend Helen but the geezer behind, btw he out sprinted me to the finish.

Rode with this man 2 years ago

Fine if you only want 170mm cranks. Or don’t need them to be in stock.

I wondered about 170’s but they are fine I dont notice the 5mm / 1/5″ difference. In fact they dont strike lumps as often and maybe help with spinning faster.
As for not in stock, do the email bit I did.

    I was thinking superlight too.

On the anthem, I always thought it be better with a 120mm fork just to make it a little less racey.

My Spesh Stumpie is a tad under 24 pounds which aint bad for a 120 full susser.
With the Horst link it gives a good ride in all conditions, better than a single pivot and Faux bar stuff. Never ridden a DW link so not sure on them.
So maybe buy a frame and build it to the spec you want.

Dont bother ever, just change the fluid onece in a blue moon.

    For interest sake

New Dot 5.1 fluid boils at 270 °C
With 3.7 % of water in it boils at 190 °C

So the hygroscopic properties of brake fluid have an effect.
