May just do that, cheers. Have been walking up there for years so know all the foot paths but still relying on the dark peak guide book which is good but still no substitute for local knowlage…. As for the endorphins thats me atm :) just had a 15mile blat on the ss in the evening sunshine

Used to alot, would like to get back into it but its a question of time and people to climb with (anyone in basingstoke area needing a climbing partner email in profile)…. Tho I am intending to teach mini vader as soon as he turns 4, its either reading or alton that allow kids from 4 and they are close.

    8) congrats to you and your mrs…. Everything everyone has said is true…. not alot else to add really cept that after the first 6 months it becoms slightly easier (mini vader is 4 this year). The other thing to warn you about is grandparents. They go BONKERS. Totally loose the plot and start buying up the contents of toys r us!. Your front room will be full of brightly coloured plastic for the forseeable future and man is it painfull when you stand on it in the dark! Good luck and enjoy, it truly is the best thing in the world. 8)

No sweep on the bars.. Totally flat and no adjustment on the stem either cos I tried that earlier, and not wide enough for bar ends. If I want to change them then its both bar and stem which is money I dont want to spend atm . Not sure if the ergon grips will work on there either. Will be going to my lbs in the week so will try then.
Went for my usual blat this evening and different gloves (old pait of spesh ones) helped a bit. Still numb but no where near as bad. The anoying thing is that I only get it from this bike.
    many thanks for the suggestions

Ex h&s supervisor for construction so know all about the white finger! Am going to try and change position on the bike but unfortunately the roll dosnt have much in the way of adjustment. New gloves and grip seems like the best/cheapest plan for now.

Check out the copper kettle for their woodfords wherry starter kit, not the cheepest but good service. Tho you can get this kit from most homebrew shops. Dont use the online homebrew company…. they are propper crap
Also check out Jims beer kit[/url] for advice, method and general derision on the forum…. Much like here :D (edit: damit too slow on the jbk)
    hope this helps

Thats what I figured, so long as you keep them cleaned and the container sterilised, once a week they, SHOULD be fine

Most of the time im on my own, tho mrs vader always knows where I am. Plus with the medical issues I have (and after that chap up north was found and no one knew who he was, including him.) I wear one of these….IceID

I like the nomad, just that bit far out of my price range sadly. Plus ive never had a problem with wheel retention…. Now of SC could do something to help rider retention…. :D

Was up there yesterday, it was ok, understandably wet and slipery but still fun. Very busy tho so I would get there early tomorrow.

Yes I have. A great many bikes down many different hills. the cotic is on the list of ones to try when im in the peaks next. Also on the list are the remedy, jekyl, spicy and reign. I happen to like SC bikes tho so it is at the top, IF I can find a demo. But if you read my first post I was looking for the opinion of those that actually own these bikes…

    Troll alert!! :-)
FWIW I dont buy bikes on looks alone…. I ALWAYS test ride. And beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What are you describing a decent?

Thanks for those. I have seen the stif offer but am probably going for a full build cos its going to cost roughly the same as a self build.
Sbrok… Thats sweet! I do a fair bit of riding in the peaks (my sister lives in hathersage!) So thats looking promising… And if my planned trip to spain comes off in,the winter then I may be laughing.

    Mrs Vader just said….”Awwwww… Diddy!”….

    daftvader

No. most of them gave me the look of “what are you doing on MY trail?” (swinley really was like the M1 on a friday night today… Busy!) I always give way to those going down hill when i’m going up, as was the case today…. Isnt that the correct way? Am I expecting too much of my fellow bikers? It may be only a small rant but I feel that saying thanks or cheers or a nod when you’ve got out of the way of those going down hill is only a small thing but a fairly important one. Imho
