ta, I’ll try get a pic

If you reckon its asbestos, guess that qualifies as a FML moment 😆

Though was probably 4-5 hours doing it… and last I checked I don’t work in a factory with asbestos everyday

came off in one layer dry, exposing the wall behind which was not particularly damaged

the back [of the stuff that came off] was pink, looked like plaster

thought the fibres might help hold it together in the case of artex…

I’ve scraped it.. wearing a p3 mask.. but was somewhat disturbed by how easily it came off.. hopefully ive not caked the place in asbestos

Was looking at these wheels, but not sure now..

It seems difficult to get non-shimano road disc caliper without rotors…

    If I went shimano br-cx77.. it’d be

    £80 ish for 2x calipers
    £55 ish for 2x CL rotors 140mm

seems quite a bit considering an Avid BB7 road would be about 100 quid and include the rotors. Maybe I’m splitting hairs or being too tight

Can’t see much in the way of road disc wheelsets for £100-250ish though

The Kinesis CX shimano wheels look just the ticket but not available for awhile

Pentax K-5, not much is going to come close for 350 quid (2nd hand), full weather sealed mag alloy body, image stabilisation built into camera

Regarded as many as one of the best aps-c cameras ever made

    Is it available frame only?

probably not available frame only going by this earlier post…

    It’s a Planet X model.
    Frameset with forks
    Cx clearances.
    Lighter than Kaffenback.

    for the last Q

just fit the Tiagra STIs and make sure you use the Road version of the BB7.

was advice on another thread for a drop bar setup using a tiagra groupset

The Planet X RT-58 looks pretty hard to beat from a lot of angles…

If only it had mudguard eyelets 😆 … for out and out value for money though does anything come close?

    8.8KG and Tiagra for 599…

Yes theres lots of things lighter. But to go sub 8/8.5 KG seems to require quite a lot of extra cash

Look good. Heard freehub is too soft and wears badly. Don’t know if that’s true of all samples though.

Max out an ISA (put 5760 into it, or whatever it is atm)

set aside at least 25k of it for house/flat deposit

    25k… thats a 10% desposit on a 200k house + legal fees sorted

5k do stuff with.. travel, bike etc, save some perhaps

    /usr/sbin/lspci | egrep -i “(wire|net)”

    try that

    failing that type

    which lspci

and it’ll tell you path to it (I’ve guessed the path to be /usr/sbin/).. assuming its installed.. I’d be surprised/horrified if it wasn’t

    Conqueror

    boot it, open a terminal

    type

    lspci | egrep -i “(wire|net)”

    what does that say..

dunno.. there’s a lot of good deals at that mark

I might throw these into the mix

    ribble 365
    kinesis tk2
    Pinnacle Dolomite Five

Was it primed, sanded an amount to key in?

How many coats of eggshell? Was the paint bubbly/was it mixed?

Although it might seem a PITA, that doesn’t look like it’ll take a huge amount of effort to fix

If you get oil based paint on your skin, it doesn’t wash off particularly well with just water (and you normally clean the brushes with white spirit after oil based paint)… given that I would of thought it might take quite a lot of moisture to affect it..

    is the temperature fluctuating much?

(yes, I’ve been struggling with Optimus)

The one time I encountered Optimus.. I thought I don’t have time for this… and disabled it in the BIOS

Not the most helpful comment I know…

    Oh god you’re using bumblebee,

And this was my reaction too 😆

    What card you got? Nvidia/ATI/Intel?

    lspci | grep -i VGA

    ATI is a PITA
As above Nvidia much better for Linux

What does this command show at the moment?

    glxinfo | grep rendering

Opengl is just the framework/spec IIRC and there are different implementations of that…

This might help… Ubuntu/Unity was too horrific for me.. and also I found myself needing to learn Red Hat based distros

Bloody bargain. But I still like the RT-57 with the non-compact chainset, nice Shimano wheels and classier frame. Is that really worth £200 extra though?

Dunno, but with a bike this light in the UK, do you need a triple?

    Conqueror

yes would be interested to know a vague price or actual of course 😆

Ah cheers. Might as well fire off some questions 😆

Is it a Planet X branded bike? and will it be available with and without forks?

Presumably its going to come in lighter than the Kaffenback

I’m having 2nd thoughts about building a different frame, the only difference it’ll make is weight or gaining discs. The brakes are pants so tiagra or disc will improve things

Guessing the current frame/fork come in at at least 2.5kg, kona/steel

I bought a load of tiagra parts from ribble a while ago on offer

I’ve got some half decent wheels already
