Thousands of new VAG cars sitting around in Greenham Park. A lot of them have been there for a few months so I would guess that Audi Ridgeway will have stock if you’re not too fussy on spec and colour.

If he wants something different, yet well performing, how about the Cannondale Lefty? Fantastic fork (and cheaper than the RS-1).

I’ve been using two superstar chainrinings (32t and 34t) for a few months. I’ve had zero issues and they have been wearing better than my works component rings. Bearing in mind I put at least 60 miles on a week through all the winter grime I’m well impressed.

Oh, I like this. I’m turning the garage into the man cave so I need some inspiration.

I like the idea of using an old cracked frame for something.. but what?

What kind of bike shop? There’s a big difference between a shop for cycling enthusiasts and one intended to attract beginners and non-cyclists.

    This.

The Specialized concept stores are amazing (the one in Newbury springs to mind). Almost like an art gallery, whereas my LBS (Cycle King, Colchester) has got hundreds of intertwined BSOs. No matter how nice the shop layout is, if you stuff it to the rafters with cheap BSOs and accesories it may as well be a in a run down charity shop.

Can someone explain to me why BBC 3 has been showing Top Gear repeats, yet the BBC haven’t managed to coble together the last few episodes? What’s the difference? Clarkson is still on the TV*, which is why they pulled the new episode? Doesn’t make sense to me.

*although a lot younger, less fat and less wrinkly.

70% of weight loss comes from your diet and 30% from exercise.
Set your diet up correctly so that you are in a calorie deficit state.
It is really important to stay hydrated and get good rest too.
It’s pretty simple. Eat well and exercise more.

Looks much better with the all black forks.
If the set up is uber comfortable then leave it as is. You said you struggled with getting it set up comfortably. Who cares what it looks like.

The left DT decal on my Canfield YelliScreamy had smudged a small amount- I think this happened in transit. Canfield Europe were fantastic. They offered to replace the frame + a discount or keep the frame and get a free pair or crampon pedals. That is great customer service, not £15 and a pat on the back.

25c 700cc tyres will do. Swinley is mostly hardpack and smooth. you can get away with anything.

It’s nice to see Marz making a reappearance on a stock bikes.

    What shock is that?

The EBB works well. I prefer the grub bolts over the internal bolts. It gives a larger clamping diameter and it is easier to adjust. I’ve not had any issues with lots of abuse over the last 9 months.

I’m stripping and cleaning everything ready for summer soon so I’ll check out what marks the bolts have left.

Ah, that’s rubbish! Did it sheer through all 5 rivets or did you finish the job for the photo? I was looking at getting one of the Home Brew cogs to make tart up my stooge. I’ll look elsewhere.

Will you try and put in a warranty claim?

Having arrived at a Ski resort I got about changing. I put my leg in the trousers and pull the trousers up.. That “Bollocks!” feelings when you realise you packed your 12 year old sisters trousers.

(Same colour and brand, just different size )

    Good point..
That’s £460 borrowed for a few days and then giving back £480.
That said, wouldn’t you be better of pretending to sell a bike/forks?

AW Cycles. Dealt with them a lot over the years.
Helpful guys (who will phone when they say they will) and they have bent over backwards to help me. I now use them as my LBS, even though it’s 45 mins drive away. Worth it.

Have you been able to sort out the clearance now? What’s the drag like now?

do they have enough clearance to run as 27.5+

Yup, there’s a photo on facebook. I’ll grab it at lunch.

    Fancy buying mine  ?

Does anyone want to buy a Stooge in Blue?

The stooge is the one you want! It’s the most playful and poppy 29er I’ve owned. I’ve also had a yelli with 100mm fork but it was nowhere near as fun.

Trying to find a decent length shim to offer the more affordable model with a shimmed 27.2mm post.

Interesting.. is the 27.2mm to try and incorporate more flex and make it more comfortable? Surely the large ST diameter will negate this. Plus, as you say with the Ali fork, the 3.0” tyres offer enough give to take away the sting.

Personally I’d prefer the 31.6mm post. I hate shims.

This will be cracker. Hope the weight is reasonable.
Question is, will Hope do some 148×12 spacers for the normal Pro II..

That looks like a fun bike.
Sounds like Genesis has the best two build options- budget/functional and bling/light.

I’m intrigued as to what fork will be able to take 27.5+.
I think I’m in for the budget version.

Thanks chaps! I think I’ll go down the paint route. The bare brick walls are going to get painted white and I think I’ll go for a dark grey floor.
I guess prep is everything. I wont start until it gets a bit warmer.

Thank god it wasn’t DezB in the van.
He would have carried on driving into the lorry to ‘make a point’.
Or maybe caught up with the lorry and crashed into it, also to ‘make a point’.
