Didn’t clock what was there but there was some gym kit on the canal between (IIRC) Speirs Wharf and Firhill. Might have been a bar, sorry can’t be more specific

Humax freesat box off eBay and ‘standard’ telly? More functionality.

id like less faff if possible, something that looks lovely, feels lovely, and works smoothly.

I’ve had a Merkur Futur for a few years now and it ticks all those boxes and adjustable but there werea few negative comments a while back so their QA might be a bit suspect now, which is poor because it’s not cheap

soap or cream – your choice – I like soap, Arko is a popular choice here and it’s very good and cheap, but currently using Proraso soap which comes in it’s own bowl.
alu or pencil, I use a block becasue I was forever losing pencils, although for space reasons I keep a pencil in my emergency overnight bag (I have a bit of a tendancy to get in the car and start driving and forget to stop). pencils cost pennies try one and see what you think
bowl – a stick of Arko can be pressed into an oyster shell, just clean it out properly, some soaps come with bowls, Alcatraz prison mugs are just the right size for loose soaps.
badger brushes are very soft, boar and bristle brushes are harder and don’t hold as much water so don’t lather up as much, but if you use them, they soften and work well after a month or two.
dedicated stand? one for the brush, everything else in a mug
i like the smelly stuff from my local shave shop and am lucky that the owner can tell me about the smell rather than supermarket smells which i’ve never really liked (apart from old spice white water)

Left an Astra parked in a not particularly nice bit of Manc for a week (near friend’s house) while on holiday, came back to find it still there

Guy I know left a works van over the weekend behind a pub. Company had a sign tacked to window say “Nothing of value is left in this vehicle overnight”
Came back to find a window smashed and a note saying “Just checking”

I can’t see how native / upscaled 3D would affect the battery life, that’s nonsensical. What if you looked at the wall with them, would that use less battery?

Well they pair with the telly, bluetooth style, so it’s not unreasonable to assume some communication betwen the telly and the specs. Looking at the wall wouldn’t pick up a 3d signal, specs would power down and save battery. If the specs contribute to the 2d/3d upscaling process but not to native 3d then then native 3d might yield longer battery life. Might be bobbins as I’ve no idea what the “active” component actually is

The “projects” which you refer to are charitable projects, not profit making projects.

Didn’t Lance Armstrong do a lot of “charitable” not “profit making” stuff as well?

    Brown’s erecord in Parliament includes

Has spoken in 7 debates in the last year — well below average amongst MPs.

Has voted in 12.94% of votes in this Parliament with this affiliation — well below average amongst MPs. (From Public Whip)

Are you suggesting that not voting and not debating is how an MP should represent their constituency?

There’s nothing like a nice malt whisky in front of a cosy fire at a hotel bar after scoffing some decent food, then go out for a wee walk in the evening to see the stars

especially if you get lucky with a light show

molgrips – Yes and yes, just plan ahead and organise accomodation. That said, it’s often cheaper out of season.

Plus, have you ever sat on Concorde, it’s small, cramped and not very comfortable. If I was paying that much, I’d rather take longer and fly business class and be able to walk when I land.
Awesome piece of machinery though. Used to turn up at Prestwick for pilot training for a copuple of weeks a year.

Anyway, goat shit is not as lethal as cat shite and when you open them you only see green grass … if they are fresh.

Big if that, better ban it, just to be sure

I’ve never had a problem with someone drinking at a nearby table’s alchohol poisoning the actual air I’m breathing, unlike smokers.

or puddles of pish in your close, or the piles of vomit scattered around town centres on a Sunday morining. And let’s not forget the carnage of drink driving shall we?

I’ve always liked him but my opnion did ratchet up more than a few notches watching this.
EDIT but it could have done with being a 3 parter with a bit more engineering

go-pro’s are notoriously dagerous and I’m speaking from personal experience. I saw one in a shop and for some reason misread the price with the decimal point in the wrong place. I was so amazed at this that I was distracted, walked into a wall and hurt myself.
They should be banned, that’s all I’m saying.

wearing a tie means you have the ability to tie a knot in some cloth round your neck without strangling yourself,

..which is fine if it’s you that’s doing the interviewing, but it probably won’t be

Wearing a tie will either have a positive effect or none.
Not wearing a tie will either have a negative effect or none.

I’m not bothered too much as long as the applicants are presentable, but in the event of a tie, the tie-wearer demonstrated that they were prepared to make a bit more effort.

Do you only ever buy brand new cars then, or do you change the tyres immediately on second hand cars?
If they’re on a car you can make sure they hold air otherwise you might drive say from Glasgow to Dundee, get them home, fit them and find out they have holes in them. It does happen you know, there’s a thead on STW about it here
