probably a tad young at 9. My youngest was 10 and she was ok with it but she has grown up on doctor who and alien movies. Nothing realy gory, but plenty of tensiom and jump out of skin moments.

Ben, cheers. Would need to get my BMI into the lower 50% on the forum if going out with training bods. Do you organise on any particular site/forum?

Sorry to hijack the bickering and bigotry, we dont seem to have the riots in Leeds so had to content ourselves with Lancastrians and Southerners battering each other.

Been no surprises for me. Though the manchester video did bring out a few extreme(ish) thoughts.
I guess there are those on here that believe in self help and the state providing opportunities to help oneself. There are thos that believe that those that that system has failed are victims.
Being born on a council estate, and going to the local comp has put me predominantly in the former camp.

Was it just me that thought the aliens head was a bit like the alien in Independance Day?

TJ being born in northern europe or even lage areas of the USA immediately puts you in the world top rankings of opportunity. Once you are British you have rights, however we are VERY priviliged to have those rights.
Ratswithwings: of course there is inequality here. Having the right parents or even a good school can and will make a massives difference to your life chances, but those chances are there for everyone to a fair degree and it is perfectly possible to go prom council estate to high school teacher for any kid who applies themselves. Trouble is kids need direction and if they dont get it from the parents then there are limits to what a school can do.

Living in this country is a privilege. Its not perfect, but try living in Rwanda or Vietnam or Brazil if you thing we have a bad country with severe inequality.

Stay away and let her contact you. She already has a dad. I don’t know you, so its hard to be correct and if the following comments are way off the mark then I appologise. You let another man raise your daughter for 18 years, at his expense, and now you want to get close to her? Don’t you think thats a tiny bit opportunistic?
Now I understand that this may have been to play along with the mothers lies to conseal any infidelities, in which case I think you can ask her to get involved with the daughter. But as for rights, well the other bloke (parental dad as opposed to spunk donor) and the daughter are the ones whose considerations should come first.

Salems lot…yes! Also an old oliver read film called “The Brood”.
Them in about 1981 there was a black and white film I saw with a defrosted alien/monster on a train…no idea what it was called, but for those of us with irresponsible parents it made playground games and sleepless nights for several weeks.

Never had a quality problem on any of my four PX/on-one frames.
The crew in sheffield are a good bunch, trying to earn a crust in a difficult market. I would rather give my money to them as they do try out new and brave ideas and sometimes come up with a product that is unique and fantastic (mary bars anyone?).

You have just described a goldsmith millenium diamond. These were sold in the early noughties by goldsmiths and the cut is amazing and unique. Mrs HB is a fan of them. They come up on ebay periodically. The cut and clarity of these is always at least vs1 and clarity is virtually colourless. I know thats not romantic, but for 450 you could pick up a 0.45 carat 18ct gold ring. You will not buy anything close to that retail.

There is nowhere else on the interwebthingy where I could:
    1. Get a new dog
    2. Find out how to fix a 2002 mondeo brake.
    3. find out more on cancer, relationships and carbon forks
    4. engage with folk whos views and lives and experiences are different from mine and engage in learning ( or pointless bickering) as a resukt.

    STW IS FLAWED BUT BRILL!

Funny, just checked. My belkin has a green light. The 7day one has a blue. Also noticed that the printing on them is identical, though there are some subtle differences in length of centre pin.

No quite identical, the LED’s are different colours. I have the Belkin one. Its really good. I also just bought a couple of the 7day ones, but havn’t tested them yet. Other than LED colour they look the same.

Also, when you remove the cake from the oven, give it a jolt by dropping it an inch or two onto the work surface,
This helps the cake stay risen as the jolt fractures the cooked bubbles in the cake and stops the cake deflating as the air that was trapped inside cools.
I learnt this from a Professor at Leeds who spent years researching colloids and cake structure.
