A mate at work has lately been trying to explain Ramadan to some of our more intrigued colleagues.
So far, he has been asked what happens when if it rains and water gets in his mouth and what if he eats a bug whilst riding.

He also had to explain that no one was forcing him to take the challenge. That shocked people the most!

Ramadan Mubarak and stay hydrated, people.

STW is clearly some demographic that is more hostile to religion…

It’s hard to be open to the notion of a benevolent deity watching over us when the bald spot starts showing through..

    3.
Atheist and scientist, and have always taken an interest in history, which has to include the effects of religion throughout the ages.
No particular interest in religion itself, though.
But.. I regularly find myself edging towards 5, but then I remember that it is often people that are the problem, not the books that they read.

    Welcome to last week :D

But yeah, sounds pretty promising. Wonder what Zac is up to these days and whether he will join in at some point?

Also, some have allen heads on the inside of the crankarm.

Not the clearest pic to id from, but looks like Clubiona comta.

Could also be a juvenile Drassodes lapidosus, or stone spider, but not as likely.

And yes, they are carriers of the dreaded cat AIDS.

I suppose that it would be classified as a marine mammal which tend to be a bit divisive,re nomming them.

We were on a beach in Wales when we spotted a pod of dolphins having a bit of ‘sport’ with a small porpoise, which, in the end, washed up near to us, battered and quite dead.
My dad was quite disgusted with me, then a marine biologist, for suggesting we get the barbecue out and have a sample.

I mean, when else would you get a chance to try one totally guilt free?

So for me, it depends on how one acquires said mythological fish-lady.

Size, rotor mount? qr/15mm/20mm 135 or 142? It all makes a difference, you see.
I seem to remember that they were formula hubs on the faith back then, 20mm front, but can’t remember the fittings for the rear.
    Dunno, 50-100, dependent on condition?

As always, the market will decide their worth when you sell them. If they don’t go, drop the price a bit.

Uberbike sintered. Tried the race matrix and just got too much honking from the rear.
Tried a few different cheap and nice brands, but prefer these. Cheap, too.

Those Rahox ones were good too.

I would have expected them to be preassembled, unless otherwise stated.
You could try to reconnect them, but after shipping like that it is unlikely that you will get away without a bleed. unusual not to get an olive either.

I would send them back, personally. It could be that they have been returned and someone else disconnected them to fit their internal routing.
Not worth the chance if bought as new.

Our maguras work at 70/30 by running a wider hose on the front. Seems to work fine.

Also, Yep, stumpys are pretty low. We use hardtails for some as they are tiny frames! Coupled with a thudbuster type post it might just work out a bit comfier

As to brakes, I love these! http://www.pedicabshop.com/blog/perfect-twin-disc-brakes-big-magura-twin.html
Two years with no maintenance so far!

Cable set ups work too with a cable splitter.

Yep, two calipers off one master cylinder is fine, we have numerous access bikes set up like this, mostly with maguras as they made lots of levers that will take two hoses.
We have others set up for those with similar requirements, too. Some require a shorter crank arm or even a single spd to allow better flow with an uneven pedal stroke, some others have a makeshift steering damper to help hold lines in corners.

For parts, Mission cycles are good, but a little pricey as they serve the (rather cornered) access bike community.

Also, another chap who comes to our group with a day service has absolutely fallen in love with our trailmate trikes as he can forget about the balance bit and happily steer with one hand as he has trouble reaching with both. He says that they are really comfy over the rough stuff, too.
Trailmate.com Also have good parts for modding

Well, I’m about to buy a pair of on one reet’ards in 26 for a my gfs bike as there don’t seem to be many secondhand ones anywhere at the moment
If you have anything better that I could spend my 99 quid on, do let me know!

Like all Formula brakes, the first 3 rides they’re incredible, then performance rapidly deteriorates.

Maybe not all, matey. My ‘the ones’ from 2011 are still running superbly after being on my main bike since new. Was going to bleed them last winter, but as they still didn’t need it, I didn’t bother.
The only possible complaint is that (in combination with the ‘Calder/Mordor grit’) they seem to eat sintered pads, but pads are cheap and it is a small price to pay for the power and consistency that mine have.
Would have loved those r0’s, but missed the boat!

Plus, alot of the albums mentioned above were recorded by artists much less talented that the Chili Peppers; who are arguable all Maestros on their chosen instrument.

Each to their own. For me, Californication was when they ran out of funk and had it surgically replaced with weak ballads.

Yep, supports really make a difference! Had tfcc over the previous year after overdoing the climbing (and falling the bike off a lot too).
First one I tried was pricey, I think that it came to 35 quid as it had to cross the Atlantic to get to me. This one..
    http://www.3pointproducts.com/3pp-carpal-lift-np
It applies a light pressure that makes a big difference to rotational pain, but does not offer much actual support when load bearing..

To deal with the load bearing side of thing, like climbing or mtb and weights, I picked up a dirt cheap wrist support from home-bargins or b and m or somewhere like that for a couple of quid. They can be done up tight enough to allow some moderate lifting without discomfort.

It sucks, but rest it as much as possible and it will be fine in six months or less, dependent on the damage already done.

Pretty similar to my portable speaker thing that I made for festivals and beach trips. Bloody good, those wee tripath amps! Cheap, great sound and can be powered by 8AA batteries, too!

Really like the idea of a bluetooth input, had not really thought about that.

    Yeah, looks like a Caddisfly,(Trichopetra).
There are loads of different species so an exact id is pretty difficult until it pupates. Some are scavengers, some feed on decaying plant matter and some are ferociously predatory, so no idea how the tadpoles will fare.
