I was over clent on Wednesday night and it was horrible. Very muddy and very slippy on the wet leaves covering some of the best trails.

    POSTED 46 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

    Depends on your route 😉

It is muddy, I was there Thursday morning, so a few hours after you, but wasn’t too bad – need the right tool for the job though 😉

Hang on Tazzy – you’ve been all over these – exo & non – and didn’t update us?? 😉

Too busy chuntering on the fat bike thread 🙂

Seriously, I’m looking for a Knard replacement for the Stooge and this seems like the one

What are you using (exo or not?)

    We need pics 🙂

The £110 price tag was what CTBM had them up for on his site. Pre-release and actual price

Yeah, the Knards are pretty deadly in the mud

Here you go Tazzy – keep calm and keep posting 🙂

Wouldn’t catch me with one on my bike

I find a standard crud catcher up front on my 4.6″ tyres works fine – the crud catcher just covers the width of the tyre perfectly

I noticed an almost complete stop of all facial spatter after fitting it 🙂

I saw one of those mahoosive dbf (?) ones fitted to a Fat Boy and it was just far too big (for me to ever fit to my bike)

The fatter tyre seems to throw a phat lot more up more up too 🙂

Why are you looking at 26″ (didn’t think you could get those bikes anymore)

My mate bought a Pinnacle Ramin One

Been well happy with it – contemporary geo, wide bar short stem, steel fork…

Oh yes cheese – their footprint is so huge and traction so off the scale, they stick wherever you leave ’em 🙂

    Howdy

I have a Kona Raijin (ti frame, beautifully made by Lynskey, and similar to your Pro). Rides lovely with a 100mm fork… however

These two get more love these days

    Stooge

    And this Fat Boy

Tazzy – is that a black Fatty? Looks rad.

Just can’t get stoked for the white version

nimo – the riding you describe sounds pretty similar to my usual rides – snakes and ladders type of hilly riding (Clent Hills) – longer and more ladders than snakes, but some climbs are fairly steep (I run a 30T chainring on a 1x set-up), and I do look for the steepest I can find. Some of the descents are as fast as you dare go. These rides usually last ~ 1 1/2 to 2 hrs and cover about 13 miles

Weekends see more of a XC ‘pub ride’ (30 miles ish) and I’m out for up to 8 hrs 🙂 Stooge performs brilliantly at both tasks, and always gets me home safe, despite the quantity imbibed 🙂

Is this the same Biff Jeff has got selling his latest Jones bikes?

I’ve spoken to Jeff once about bikes and from everything else e-posted, I’m sure he wouldn’t post stuff like that

The bigger volume tyre (on a wide rim) makes such a difference, and as Stooge’s front is so light, a ‘slight’ bit of extra tyre heft is insignificant

Not sure I would be buying a Knard though with winter round the corner (dam right dangerous in mud)

Sounds like you’re having good fun there 🙂

    OK, thanks.

    So carry on

So the SRAM is the better design?

    What happens when they break?

    Great stuff

Mine’s a SRAM, but gotta be similar eh?

Are they generally considered any good?

    OK, thanks

How long have they been around?

So bonesetter – if you could keep just one bike, which would it be?

The Ti Stooge of course 🙂

I just hope Andy’s ok and the hospital sort him out without any trimming required.

I was also going to suggest a Stooge

I know it looks like a rigid, but in real life it isn’t 🙂

Kona Raijin – beautiful (and very capable) ride with a 120 fork. Decent money and made by Lynskey

I could never bring myself to buy another Niner, they’re just not worth it. Not when there’s lots of other stuff out there. Niner gear makes for very pretty internet pics though 🙂

Should be a sweet ride – I think the lay back post is essential. Gets you right over the back axle
