Fear of flying engulfed me once at Bergen heliport.
This was after 15 yrs of working offshore.
I was stopped in my tracks, nothing i could do or any mental persuasion, was getting me on the chopper.
I was pretty calm at the time just mind boggled where the fear came from.
That’s it,no way was i going to go on another chopper.
Went to the receptionist and told her my story and that i was just going to go home.
She suggested i should go to speak to the pilot first,it might help she said.
Anyway i went to have a chat, told him about my dilemma very calmly he ran through the flight procedure, told me the checks that they do,also he said that he’d been flying choppers for 30yrs and he wouldn’t take it off the tarmac, if he wasn’t 100% with everything.
You need to trust me he said!! Wow! when he said that,my fear just went out the window.
That was 10 yrs ago, never any issues after that.
If the subconscious has issues with trust and control, then fear will raise its head.
You’ll find it very difficult to overrule the subconscious mind, work with the trust and control isues and see how you get on.
    Best of luck

Read the book 20 yrs ago and haven’t smoked since.
Boring as hell but amazing result.
If you really want to give up,it should work.
The book was sent around at work and 7 people i know of,managed to stop, took one person 3 attempts, reading the book.

Long climb to the first singletrack.
You can ride heart of darkness or the new slab section, all rollable but best to check out a line first.
My 8 yr old has ridden the slabs,he enjoyed them.
Next is Snap Crackle and Pop,lots of rocks and slippery sections,it’s good though.
It’s a a bit of a climb then to the top, then down to the start of Rocky Horror and back to the centre.
It’s a good loop of around 14km,i usually start at the top of Beginning of the End on the east side to add a few Km’s.

Destroyed a full face helmet at Antur Stiniog few months ago!
My head was pretty sore for a week, doctor advised to stay off the bike for 3 weeks, mainly because of the risk of second impact that could prove fatal!
Felt fine after a week and no problems since.

    All the best Brokenman.
Try to live in the present and let go of the past.
Not easy i know, the more you let go,the more you can enjoy the present.

    LEAF PEOPLE
Some people come into your life and they are like leaves on a tree. They are only there for a season. You can’t depend on them or count on them because they are weak and only there to give you shade. Like leaves, they are there to take what they need and as soon as it gets cold or a wind blows in your life they are gone. You can’t be angry at them, it’s just who they are.

    BRANCH PEOPLE
There are some people who come into your life and they are like branches on a tree. They are stronger than leaves, but you have to be careful with them. They will stick around through most seasons, but if you go through a storm or two in your life it’s possible that you could lose them. Most times they break away when it’s tough. Although they are stronger than leaves, you have to test them out before you run out there and put all your weight on them. In most cases they can’t handle too much weight. But again, you can’t be mad with them, it’s just who they are.

    ROOT PEOPLE
If you can find some people in your life who are like the roots of a tree then you have found something special. Like the roots of a tree, they are hard to find because they are not trying to be seen. Their only job is to hold you up and help you live a strong and healthy life. If you thrive, they are happy. They stay low key and don’t let the world know that they are there. And if you go through an awful storm they will hold you up. Their job is to hold you up, come what may, and to nourish you, feed you and water you.

They filmed Macbeth on my uncle’s land in 1971,i was 7 at the time.
I have a vague recollection of meeting John Stride :-)

First Knight was filmed on my outlaw’s land.
We were given access to a few of shooting scenes! They actually do use lights camera action! :D
Met with Richard Gere, real pleasant guy and had time to chat,Connery didn’t however, just pissed off in his chopper as soon as the shooting finished.

52 next week and I’m toying with this idea of slowing down after a big off at Antur yesterday!
Sore neck and slight numbness in my head today.
    Doc says i’ll be fine.
Glad i had a FF helmet on,need a new one after yesterday,I’ll also be wearing a brace from now on as well.

Will it slow me down, probably not!.
Won’t be doing strava there anymore though.
Doing my 1st DH race on Sunday as well, can’t wait!.

DH bike at Antur i have MM up front and a Kaiser on the rear.
A lot riders have Minions and High rollers but the Kaiser is very good, blooming expensive at £55 though.
Tubeless up front and DH tube on the back,i’ve had a few burps but no punctures.
    Shorty for Revolution.
Dan Athertons new bike park! New set of balls on order! :D

Bonty Team SE4 upfront and an Ardent on the rear on my trial bike for CYB and the other trails around.
Always run tubeless,to many long walks took care of that decision.

Mostly solo on the trails, like to pick and choose routes as i go along,go at my own pace and distance, just depends how i feel on the day.
Ride DH with my son and some friends,it’s good banter on the uplifts.

went with beiciwr’s suggestion as it fit logistics quite well.

If you get some nice weather, then go outside early morning, walk to were first Tee off on the old golf course used to be,it’s breathtaking! Probably one of the best views in the whole of North Wales!
Evenings are also lovely with the sun setting over Porthmadog.
    Enjoy!
