Detention x 2
Once for getting poor results in a test (I kid you not).Once for fighting in the middle of class after an idiot decided to bring in the fight that I had just kicked his arse for out side into the class
It was the early 80’s Greater Manchester area. Where teachers used to throw board rubbers, smashing meter rulers on your desk and in general take no shit off the kids. And TBH they needed too with 1 or 2 in the class!
How things have changed, not for the better IMO because not matter how rough the teachers were they were respected. No doubt these days they would be sent down.
badllamaFree MemberDid my local 12 miler to get the legs working again after a weeks holiday (none biking).
Got told off from an old dear in Dunham Park for being on the bike she did hold a gate open for me though. :-) Would not be too bad but I’m only in the place about 3-4 mins :roll:badllamaFree MemberFunny I started this morning though it had been because I’d just had a week off and relaxed for once.
I usually only get ill when I’m off work for holidays :? I’m sure it’s tied to the body relaxing and allowing itself to be effected.
badllamaFree MemberThats why i deleted it within a week of getting it you just lead everyone to your house if you do local rides :-(
badllamaFree MemberNice video getonyourbike I know how long it take to shoot stuff like this …..thats why I don’t bother anymore as I want to enjoy a day riding the bike not filming and riding :D
Only comment I would say is start to think about colour grading the footage to match a bit more you can tell you are shooting with at least two cameras (I reccon 3 actually ) Gopro plus tripod mounted at least and the footage is a different as chark and cheese on each shot which as a viewer distracts me either wind down the contrast and saturation on the tripod mounted one (I’m sure you have actually shot with 2 plus gopro myself) or push it up on your gopro :-)
badllamaFree MemberGreat stuff Normal Man I’m sure with a few miles under your belt you will love it :-)
BTW I found 50 PSI was not a bad starting point for tyre pressures. Which I’ve kept mine at TBH :-)plus one :D
Cheers mattjgbadllamaFree MemberTry having a look at this helped me
Front Derailleur AdjustmentbadllamaFree MemberOP im riding my usual route round Delamere this Saturday your more than welcome to come along if you intrested :-)
badllamaFree MemberThe thing is these days you can just go on the web print off maps and it cost bugger all if you know what to do
Laminate them throw them in the back pack jobs a goodun.
We do this with all our new rides now as it saves pulling out and unfolding a bloody OS map every time we need to check our location. :-)
I would never rely just on electronics 8O
badllamaFree MemberSorry Martin missed your post will have to meet up next time I’m down, we found some really nice bridleways that linked up well with a cheeky start from the picnic area Priors Frome :D
badllamaFree Member2012 Spesh Camber Elite bloody great bike!
But now replaced with 2011 Enduro :D
badllamaFree MemberI know mate, for personal reasons we are passing through Haugh Wood
badllamaFree MemberCheeky riding in South Wales then a good ride in Hereford around my old haughts :D
badllamaFree MemberIt’s shit in the car, ok at home.
I’m in Sale (Greater Manchester) and on off on off in the bloody car drives me nuts end up just going back to FM constantly :(
badllamaFree MemberI’ve done events photography, before it was trendy to do so. When it’s good you can make a good lot of cash
When it’s bad your wasting your life. If your going to do it these day expect to spend about £3K on kit to get you started then insurance (Which is a MUST!).
To be honest all the best gigs are now taken by the big nationals, and if you can find a regular gig some weeks are good some week’s are bad. When it got to the point we had more bad than good we sacked it off and started enjoying our weekends again….
badllamaFree MemberI’m running my Enduro at 220 PSI if that helps as a guide. Linky to my same question a while back :-)
badllamaFree MemberI’d stay in Abergavenny, used to work there and been back a few times really nice gone quiet up market from the days I lived there :-)
Old bikers pubs now being posh restaurants had quiet a shock when i went back LOL
badllamaFree MemberLakes camping / biking /Pub weekend
Friday Eskdale > Burnmoor Tarn > Boot VERY wet arse! (First bit & last bit TOP! middle bit bobbins).
Saturday Pub all day weather wrote off the riding :(
Sunday Winlatter first time mate had been and he loved it :DbadllamaFree MemberThe thing is you could start saying £5.00 no problem then with 2-3 years its seen as a £xx.00 cash cow or whatever the goverment at the time decided it to be.
So no
badllamaFree MemberWeeeeell if it’s for a man cave why not get the carpet down on half of it (having a brew area :D ) and then leave the rest to take the oil/crap falling off the bike :-)
badllamaFree MemberWhen gamekeepeing I lived in two locations one a cottage on the edge of a 800 acre wood, no post had to walk to nearest farm where it was delivered too. (1 mile away). Gas was bottled, water was from local spring but ok. Electric was ok had a few power cuts in bad weather but not too bad.Phone line was ok internet what internet :D
Life there was good it got to the point if someone was in the wood within 500 yards of the place the dogs would spark up. In fact you got that a tuned to the surroundings I was remembered being able to smell a woman perfume in the wood for 100’s of yards away. (there was 1 footpath through the wood).
The second place I lived was a caravan right on the top of a hill by some old farm buildings. No water (had to be lugged by Landrover and 5 gallon drums) No electric ran small tv/radio off 12v truck batteries and gas for heating and lighting was out of bottles. No phone, no internet(still not invented really.
At night it was amazing could see 1000’s of stars, during the day 5 counties. Used to have some top parties up there but god was it grim in winter. Everything used to freeze, my water, the toilet, even the bloody pot towel I had dried the washing up with the night before 8O
Having to go into woods for a dump in blizzard conditions was not that much fun. Living up there alone my imagination used to play tricks on me in winter with strange noises as the wind whistles round the old buildings good job I always had at least one firearm with me. Very strange place to live when the mist/fog came down as well. Was there 8 months character building best describes it I think :-)
badllamaFree MemberYpu gettign my kit together over this year then next year going to be doing something like this a few times – float plane :D
badllamaFree MemberIf i was local I’d go and take the top 2 foot off the bridge and nail a 8×6 sheet on the right hand side of it and turn it to a nice berm :D
Forgot about that bridge in my original post bloody crazy!
badllamaFree MemberFor drying kit out I just hang it up close to the PC tower under my desk makes a cracking little drying unit throughout the day
badllamaFree MemberRef camo16
Roll shirts don’t fold :-)
Waterproofs take more space than anything :(
badllamaFree MemberThe same as what I take on every ride – 1 tube but + clothes, lock :D
I carry far too much but sods law states as I use the same bag when I get in the middle of no where I’ll have left something at home between the process of swapping kit from commute ride and proper ride at weekend.
Contents are
2 x 15 mm spanners for freeride bike rear wheel removal
Multi tool Bike
Multi tool general
3 x Tyre leavers
1 x puncture kit
1 spare tube + 1 on proper ride
1 x Pressure gauge
2 x cycle pumps I know I know 8O (one for each type of valve) I don’t want to be prating around changing things around in a small pump in the pouring rain, cold etc.
1x Shock Pump
2 x Pair of rubber gloves
1 x penknife
1 x BuffI think that’s it :D Oh nearly forgot currently a trail saw as well after editing a trail in Delamere at weekend.
badllamaFree MemberI’d have one of these if they made the kit smaller. Would scare the shit out of people thinking there was an HGV comign up behind them.
:Dhttp://www.evanscycles.com/products/delta/airzound-2-horn-ec009169
badllamaFree MemberTo be fair it’s not the dogs it’s the muppets that own them and cannot control them, or more to the point don’t even know how ot control them / look after them /train them correctly
badllamaFree MemberI’ve recently added a bell to my Enduro 8O because in places like the lakes, Delamere etc I just find it useful to let people know I’m on my way.
If your just riding trail centers I would not bother though.
We went through a period where my mate had one and I didn’t and when we got to busy areas I would always let him take the lead after a few rides and seeing how useful it was I then added it. Slightly uncoool but I really do find it useful. :D
badllamaFree MemberI’m running a Spesh Enduro 2011 and with the adjustable forks 140 – 160mm it’s spot on when riding trail, commute! and xc then keep to 140mm riding any rough stuff up to 160mm :-)
BUT If I had to stick to one size of fork I’d go for just a 140mm as the 160 gets a bit much for normal trail riding.
Riding 160mm on boards get very interesting 8O
badllamaFree MemberWhile I feel sorry for all of the situations here, some cyclist are complete dicks I had one decide to to pull across me the other day on the way to work (I drive on a Friday).
Busy Crossroads I’m going straight over he’s turning right from the other direction he’s frame standing in the middle of the junction decides he’s had enough of waiting and pulls across in front of me, que me slamming on the brakes in order to not to kill him then starts shouting abuse at me Fooking idiot I had right of way, him just wishing to die I guess
badllamaFree MemberIf he does poison them he can be done for “Causing Unnecessary Suffering” and be fined or sent down.
badllamaFree MemberWell I enjoy it it’s funny when you leave a trail a while then go back and see how your fitness has improved.
We were up the other week did the NFT, then to visitors centre for ice cream :D Then all the way up to High Parkamoor then the run down to Satterthwaite loved it.
They could do a lot more don’t get me wrong but there is plenty thee for a good day out.
First half of Winlatter’s North Red trail leaves me cold TBH but each to there own :-)badllamaFree MemberYup my Spesh Status 1 some times regret it now as it’s a bitch on climbs but I just keep telling myself to get fitter :D
Plus after riding it the Enduro which I now have goes like a rabbit, at the time of buying the Status just wanted a longer travel bike from my 120 mm Camber :?
badllamaFree MemberAlways have 2 pair of Endura Dexter just rotate them for when one pair are in the wash the others are on.
Would not ride without gloves just as I would not ride without a helmet TBH
badllamaFree MemberYup Poles are VERY out going IMO as well, Taffs are mad a foook (the South Wales ones I had fun with anyway, Ausies are good fun ( communte was a killer though) :D
badnewz in my experience all women complain eventually depending on the time you have with them it’s whether you can put up with it defines whether they stay or go :D
badllamaFree MemberI was just about to say go here http://www.pof.com/
Been beaten too it :D
Reality check # (1) No one on the planet will be “perfect” in every way life an’t like that so once you have swallowed that one down read this
Reality check # (2) Your not perfect either. :D
Personal experience says if you go out not looking for it you will find it. If you go out looking for it you will never find it.
Mix with new people do new things see what happens. :-)
badllamaFree MemberMuc-Off just jumped up by a £1.00 round our way since the last time I bought it! Must be to pay for these TV adverts I’m seeing during the TdF
Started buying in bulk now for a better price :(
