OLED is still an expensive technology so will trickle down to the smaller sets …

Still pine for a new Plasma!!

Yes, the paint shows cross hatching where the filler has been sanded I guess.

In addition the whistle from the wing mirror is still there. We have a moderate case here because the glass is a recorded non warranty purchase before we bought the car.

Yes main dealer, paid good money for the ‘peace of mind’ and all the checks they’re supposed to do.

Most annoyingly I noticed the wing mirror issue on the day we collected it (slight wind whistle) but being my Wifes car I did not want to spoil the new car moment plus she didn’t seem concerned.

Suspect that we will need to offload the car much sooner than we’d like.

Ive got a Trek Stache 29+ and thats playful in the extreme. 5ft11 and 11st4lbs.

Modern 29 geometry is agile and fast. Make sure your riding 51mm offset forks on 29er it makes a big difference from 46mm offset.

The SEAT page says the car will be scrapped.

Broadspeed offers over £3k of a new Ibiza, depending on model, mid price picked for example

Problem at the moment is upload speed which is virtually no existant. Its a very old Sky router (was white now murky brown), direct ethernet cable connection does not work at all despite the link coming up.

Suspect the box is knackered and on a very old agreement.

Hence the original Q, if he can’t get it solved whats the best 4G option.

P.S. hes on course for a 1st so I don’t think hes slacking in lecture attending, but he is an avid (and first class) gamer hence the need for good upload and low ping.

6 in a shared house, hes first to arrive so its only going to get worse.

Whether 12M / nada up is workable is moot, the question was what was the best 4G option which may have just been answered!

Yeah, were on cable, but my Mum in a farm house with FTTC gets 37down and I think about 5up.

He can get FTTC so its just a question of if the agent or landlord wont upgrade then he needs options.

Given all lectures are made available online as is cousework, decent internet is essential.

I’d try and do it all through the hire company and bite the bullitt on cost.

Do you really want ‘000s blocked on your credit card and then having to fight to claim it back from a 3rd party.

I’d just did 2 USA hires from Alamo via rentalcars.com and there was zero XS and zero blocking on my CC a very painless experience. The hand back was very easy too, none of the scouring the car for minor damage like you get in say Spain

    My Trek Stache 29+.

The step up in enjoyment (and capability) from the previous bikes was the biggest increment I’ve done (and I’ve done a fair few).

Prior to that a 1998 Orange P7 painted metallic orange.

For your portable devices get some decent bluetooth headphones with noise cancelling.

I bought some Philips ones half price from £80 in the black friday sales. Really very good. Can be used with a wire too when discharged.

Great for noisy train journeys and cutting out all the IT and A/C noise in the office.

From an earlier reply by me to a different post …

Excess insurance depends on your point of view. I’ve been ripped off by Goldcar when I had my own XS insurance.

Despite me checking over he car carefully they found the tiniest mark and charged me €250. tried to claim it back from AXA and they said fair wear and tear, not covered.

From now on, I pay up at the desk and smile nicely knowing they have not blocked ‘000s on my credit card.

Don’t think they will, theyre quite a hard plastic and are shaped to fit the exact rim. You have to specify which rim when buying.

Mine (Wifes actually) blew a turbo at 3.5years and 27000 miles.

Drove well but as mentioned earlier a bit rattly on the dash. S models feel basic. Sport models look nicer inside.

Trek Stache 29+ ? I’ve got one and its a proper missile.

My Orange Five barely gets a look in!

£3k gets you the carbon framed one with 1×12.

Remove the BB, I found on my five, its easier to go down the seat tube, stick your fingers in the bb and curve the cable round, Use some garden wire in a loop to fish the cable out the off down tube hole.

If he’s been having this from the age of 7 then you must have some idea what is behind it and what the doctor is likely to do/say. Has the doctor been able to fix these attacks in the past? If it is soemthing that doesn’t respond to treatment, then maybe there isn’t much point in your son going to the drs…..

    kind of this.

had a years course of Aciclovir to try and not it on the head when he was about 9-10, no effect. Normally the doc does prescribes more of the same, but generally its too late.

We think the trigger is too much time in his room during holidays and not getting run down this way. Being a typical teenager he won’t listen to us!

Update, hes drunk plenty of milkshake and squash (not fizzy :-)) and eaten a bit too

Diabetes is a bit of a scare better check that one.

Wife seems happier which is a good sign since she is normally very calm and understanding.

    Thanks All.

Certainly isn’t from an embarrassing source since his first bad attack which hospitalised him was when he was 7

Typical 19 year old talks in grunts at the moment because it hurts, won’t communicate with me (since I get wound up when he won’t do the obvious thing).

Wife at wits end since she can normally coax him but not this time. Suspect there is an underlying stress issue somewhere. Hes a bright lad just about to do 2nd year Physics at Manchester.
