Cheers PROLINE he has done the trail before in Arrochar – I don’t think they would mind if there was a bit of hike a bike and they would prefer to get out of Glasgow given the potential good weather.

Mugdock is bound to be heaving tomorrow so that’s probably out and they fancied heading out a bt further. Arrochar has been mentioned…

I see Danny Care is assisting in police enquiries into a sexual assault on the night he took a slash against a hotel.

I hope he screws the nut personally as it’s pretty sad to see a talented lad fall from grace. On that note there was an interesting piece on sky sports about andypowell return to form

Not going to be able to add anymore than what has already been written above. Sorry to hear that your health is preventing you from doing the sports you love but you can still participate and give something back to these sports. I hope you find something to bridge the gap.

Would have loved to see England take the scrum again and humiliate the Ireland pack even more instead of taking the shot at goal near the end of the game. The Irish co-commentator said it would have been “unsporting” (or something like that) for England to do so – my feeling is that if that was South Africa or New Zealand scrummaging like that they would have taken every opportunity to destroy the opposition scrum and try and go for another series of penalties and maybe a pushover/penalty try given that the match was already won and the extra 3 points were unnecessary.

I reckon Nichol would be considerably worse than jiffy if scotland ever won anything.

    😀 totally agree

The sad fact is that Robinson will not go anywhere and we’ve shifted Lineen out the way so the inept Gregor Townsend can take over at Glasgow. SRU=bunch of ****. We should have been beated today by way more than 7 points.

Is there actually a wooden spoon? Maybe someone could smack Robinson on the napper with it!

That whole passage of play leading up to the yellow card was all because Scotland are unable to claim a restart…basic skill!!

Don’t know much about Dundee but there is some excellent riding to be had in Fife.

I lived in Aberdeen for 6 years as a student and don’t really have a bad word to say about it – really enjoyed it. Left in 2004 so not sure what state it is in at the moment regarding flat rental etc I was paying £225/month for a room on Clifton Road incl. bills. Unfortunately wasn’t into riding when I stayed there but am sure there is probably a Uni bike club you could hook up with as well as other local clubs which could sort out lifts for you etc. to riding spots outside the town.

Edinburgh is a cracking city but could be pretty expensive depending on the area you want to rent in. Everything seems to be very close by as the centre of town is pretty compact. As already said above Pentlands on your doorstep, Glentress and Innerleithen/borders down the road as well as Stirling Trossachs and Fife.

Glasgow is another quality place to live – good riding just outside the city in Mugdock and the start of the WHW – some good clubs around as well. Used to ride with Glasgow Mountain Bike Club which is a good club and regular Wed night rides and Sunday rides away from home. West End is nice and has a good mix of shops/pubs/restaurants and flats for students in Anniesland/Hillhead/Kelvinbridge/Kelvinside/Kelvindale/Partick no idea on price though. Good subway into city centre and buses etc.

Or send an email to Hector’s RTE Radio 2 morning show and he might give it a shout out. He is big into his racing and sign off your email ‘keep her lit”.

When we’ve only lost one lineout in the entire 6 Nations to not claim a restart is unforgivable. We look so vulnerable when Ireland attack and when we attack it is so lateral.

What is it with Scotland and restarts – ever since Argentina in the world cup we’ve had a complete inability to secure possession from restarts. Defence from Scotland has been terrible…

AA – yo need to look at it again – no ruck had formed – no other scots players were involved therefore no ruck. a couple of frenchmen running past the ball and flopping over does not constitute a ruck, Yo have to have players from both sides there for it to be a ruck. Barclay was the tackler

I once went to see Montrose play Queen’s Park at Links Park, back in the 90’s.

Went to watch my team Partick Thistle play a pre season friendly against Montrose in the early nineties, was class, the home fans went on to the pitch at half time for a game of 3 and in…proper football!!

I think Scotland’s props will struggle against Healy and Ross and to try and change this Euan Murray will be brought on but all he seems to do is get penalised.

Heaslip is having a poor championship so far so hopefully that will continue and our back row can get on top. It’s going to be a tight game and a lot is going to depend on the performance of Nick de Luca who hopefully can continue his form from the France game where he actually played well for a change.

Very interested in the above Stoner as I’m hopefully going to have 0.5 acres of land which I could coppice, planning permission pending.

I should yield between 8 and 12 oven dry tonnes a year per hectare. That assumes a planting density of 10,000 whips per hectare (which is 10,000m2) so that’s one whip per 1m2. Ive actually planted mine a bit denser than that, but since I have planted 500 whips, taking up about 400 sqm, then in theory I should be able to yield half a tonne+ year dry weight. Doesnt sound like a lot but it’s probably worth about £100-150 of firewood bought locally.

Is your estimated yield of 500 kg based on a harvest of a third per year? Confused as should it not be a third of 500kg?

The cords should grow to 3-4″ in diameter over 3-4 years.

Are the cords the original whips or are cords the trees post first year cut?

Should be able to harvest +10 x 4′ x 3-4″ cord off each third stand.

Again totally confused…can you tell me what a stand is and what a cord is?

03 Audi A4 1.9 TDI (130BHP) MPG between 50 and 60 to work. Servicing between €100 and €150 for a standard service at local garage. Only had to replace the front and rear windscreen wiper motors since I bought the car 4 years ago. 116k on the clock and plan to keep it going for as long as it will go. It’s way fast enough for me, can take a lot of bike stuff in the boot with seats folded down not to mention furniture etc, criticism would be the width of the boot as transporting some stuff diagonally in the boot is a pain in the hole.

Operation done by the Jonathan Webb Clinic in Bristol in late 2004 and physic for 6 months through the clinic with Geoff Clarke (now Queensland Reds Head Physio I believe). Service pre op and post op from clinic and Physio absolutely first class. Worked my ass off in post op doing everything the Physio said, it still took 6 months before I was allowed to run properly and change direction.

Knee still gives me grief but that is more down to the fact I have no cartilage left in it – in terms of stability I feel as though the knee is way more stable than it was pre op and it doesn’t give way anymore.

Main sports are cycling and golf now having given rugby up due to the swelling soreness that came with having no cartilage.

Just to balance the two opinions above I’ve got Atera Giro AF rack and never had any issues. Santa Cruz Heckler/Cove Handjob/On-One Inbred/Merida Speeder bikes have all been on at one time or another. Used on an A4 Estate with roof box plus two bikes occasionally.
