No mention of a land cruiser? Father in law has a 2005 and loves it had seven people no bother plus seats are removable (not sure if this can be done in the others). Toyota is thirsty though and I wouldn’t know about tyres. Nissan Patrol?

So if anyone knows of a bunkhouse with a decent ale pub and some good walking nearby then let me know please! I’d say a Kart track too but our last group karting effort was in January and it was bloody freezing.

Clachaig Inn in Glencoe, youth hostel and campsite are nearbye as well as rooms in the Inn itself. Good beer, good food and normally a band on on Saturday night plus great walking nearby? I had mine there and it was class.

Why was a concrete floor laid – is it a old house whose ventilation was never designed for concrete floors?

It’s an old house, there’s no ventilation slots in the external walls in the bedroom. There’s no mouldy stuff in the bedroom…

Has anyone used the “P20” sun cream?
Does it work as claimed, 10 hour waterproof protection?
POSTED 46 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

According the wife (pharmacist) any suntan lotion should be reapplied no matter what is written on the tube. Regarding P20 be careful as it doesn’t provide complete protection from either UVA or UVB (can’t remember which).

It looks as though google only works on internet explorer when you select one of their suggestions. So if I search for singletrack and hit return I get nothing but if I type singletrack the auto selections are singletrack or singletrack forum or singletrack bikes etc and then I click on one of the auto selections the search works!? Any idea how to turn this off??

Golf isn’t an olympic sport yet but its going to be introduced, this is just daft!

Totally agree-the only way to make golf a viable Olympic sport is to ensure the field is made up of amateurs which would mean an Olympic medal would be up there with the highest amateur honours.

Charnwood Cove 2 in ivory gets my vote. But bloody expensive so I went for a Spanish one instead.

Never a good sign when they to phone for price details. What Spanish one did you go for Stoner?

Have recently installed a Chesneys stove. Not cheap but I believe they are British made and the quality is very good

Cheers simwit but I think Chesneys ivory finish is Matt paint which is susceptible to staining from ash and soot but I’ll give them a shout to confirm.

I’ll give Dunsley a look as well. The enamel ivory requirement is coming from my wife and automatically adds €150-€300 on to the price!

More suggestions from other forum:

My parents run the hotel, so I am biased, but you will be treated well, the food is great and it’s right on the golf course (ask any of th guys who were at the Woodhall spa meet earlier this year). Plus, the Hotchkin is a wonderful course.

There is also Karsten Lakes in Gainsborough. This deal is ridiculous: http://www.gainsboroughgc.co.uk/down…%20website.pdf

Does it have to be north? 2 hrs south (and west a bit) but i can easy do leics in under 2 hrs, donnington grove are doing 1 night, 2 rounds for 99 quid…

http://www.donnington-grove.com/page…al-Offers.html

Donnington valley also do the same deal with dinner thrown in and free spa (ps the food is pretty awesome there)

http://www.donningtonvalley.co.uk/golf_breaks_ind.asp

Am not affiliated to either course, but have played both a lot, don grove is better IMHO, but you do need a buggy. It’s a blooming long walk! (not course yards, but you have to cross a dual carriage way between the 1st and then back over after the 8th… It did host a European or uk tournament a few years back, don valley is a really nice tricky course, more a 3 wood off the tee! Lol both are normally £30-40 a round mid week and the hotel is normally 100 ish per night, so pretty good value! The hotel at donning ton valley is better, as is the food..

From another forum:

Greetham Valley in Rutland. Two very good courses and a brilliant hotel. £85 a head if you stay on the Friday night and you get two rounds of golf, B&B and evening meal for that price.

Ullesthorpe Court, Lutterworth.

Hope this helps if there are any further responses I’ll let you know

We went to Colorado just before I started biking so didn’t check out any riding whilst there but had a class holiday driving around and seeing the sites and did a small bit of trekking. We stayed in a place just up the road from Vail called Minturn in a cabin the B&B (The Minturn Inn) had at the river side. There is probably loads of local advice to be had here as well:

MTBR Forum Col. Front Range
MTBR Forum Col. Western Slope

The holiday did involve a lot of driving to visit the hot springs, Denver etc so that might not suit but the scenary was beautiful.

First time growing this year so we are having a go at courgetttes, butternut squash, peas, leaf beet , spring onions, some herbs. Cleared an area in the garden for it and dug in some good cow muck about 3 weeks ago. Going chit the peas and courgettes this weekend I think. Looking forward to having a bit of life in the garden given the amount of nasty stuff the previous tenants left at the house…radiator, toilet cistern, bottles, aerosols, loads of plastic and loads of unburnt rubbish. I’d wring their necks if I got the chance.

Up at the father in laws I’m trying to rejuvenate a few gooseberry bushes and a dwarf apple tree, fingers crossed.

I never watched any of the reality tv show rubbish he was involved in so can’t comment on that, but he did seem to enjoy the profile that being with Charlotte Church brought. From a rugby point of view he was an excellent rugby player with bags and bags of potential, but his reported actions off the field look to have cost him any chance of redeeming his career as there can’t be many coaches in a top flight club who will take him on now. Given the welsh performance in the 6 nations do they actually need him? Interesting to think how the two careers of GH his centre partner in the lions side have panned out…BOD probably epitomises professionalism on and off the pitch. Just my opinion

Had a west highland terrier growing up – class wee dog mild mannered non-barky and very good around kids etc. Dad has another one now and very friendly and easy to keep but his has become a wee bit barky but only at people entering the property which isn’t such a bad thing.
