Would second Broughton, look at Catforth, Woodplumpton, Cottam, Wychnor, Fulwood, Bartle. Fulwood is classed as a very large are some of which is questionable. Don’t live anywhere near ribbleton, or ingol deepdale, avenham and morenook an grange are dump. Stay northwest Preston and you should be ok. Some areas of Ashton are pretty nice.
Don’t believe the estate agents.
2hottieFree MemberDave I used to work for them it was shite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Try this number as I think it maybe the head office in London you can then get transferred straight away from there 020 88965000 would suggest doing this during office hours. Also the head offices are based over three sites one in tulketh mill Preston Lancs the other in Acton London and one in kelvin close Warrington. Also to remember they are totally crap and the management are **** twunts, I left due to being spoken to like I was 3years old and not being allowed to help the customers in YOUR position. They company policies are stupid. NEVER buy form CPW the more people who learn this lesson the better. The majority of the staff in the office I worked in Never bought a phone via CPW they would always go direct with the networks. If the number above is incorrect then pretend to be a store or another department calling in on the customer support number. The staff will ask for a store code number which will be on your receipt use this and you can get all kinds of numbers. The person on the other end of the phone maybe a jobs worth just says your computers are down or some crap like that. This kind of stuff goes for most call centres. I have picked up many tips form working in them. One is not to select a department when prompted by the automated answers Ie enter your customer account number, Don’t you will in most cases, be passed to an agent and save yourself many minutes of prompting to bullshite departments who are in fact the same bloody people!!!! The reason why this happens is to maximise efficiency and make you queue without knowing it. Also If the not keying anything in doesn’t work try the pressing zero a few times as this sometimes works. So as you can tell I hate CPW with a passion and I wouldn’t mind if they went belly up. So for all those people who have to deal with crap companies I hope the above information helps.
Good luck
PS. You do have the right to speak with a manager and do NOT have to accept a call back. I would make them aware that you have demands which you expect to be met and YOU set the time line as the staff are trained to pass you off. My old boss used to sit less than two metres away from me an he would try his up most not to answer the call until I used to tell the customer I would get the manager straight away lol
again don’t swear just be pushy and firm in your demands.
2hottie ex CPW mug.
2hottieFree MemberI broke my wrist twice last year. It hurt like **** and is still painful after a ride which is kind of a big deal. I am now a total girl pants on the downs but the only way I can improve is practice. I had many weeks off work due to not being able to type! So give the guy some time. You could buy him a MTB dvd to remind him of the good times. Also would suggest he gets one of these http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=3543
It has helped me get back out riding and wouldn’t go anywhere without it now.
Good luck and hope your buddy gets better asap

2hottieFree MemberIf my dog ever took a chomp out of someone I WOULD be the first to kick the little bugger!! I for one try my up most not to let the dog be a pain to someone else. As for pepper spray some dogs will get even more pissed off if you use it on them. An as for dog shite I hate it as it’s really easy to clean up! I hate the twunts who don’t clean it up!
2hottieFree MemberMy mono 4 kinda did that but the brake locked on but the lever went back in position, So a trip to hope yesterday and the seals have expanded and locked the pistons!! (Due to the wrong brake fluid being used) grr Hope I can pick it up today!?
2hottieFree MemberDomino
Gisburn is currently the tits lol
the tracks look sweet!! haven’t ridden them yet as there not open! I’ve been working on the volunteer sections which are tight and twisty.. lovely as for the contractor stuff which is being built it thats coming along nicely. see the vid below of someone having a little look at one of the sections which isn’t open yet.
Could do with more people to help dig tho…
again the tracks aren’t finished yet so I would suggest waiting a few weeks till they open.
2hottieFree MemberGutted on the thefts. Have you been offered smart water from the police, they offer it in my area (Lancashire)and will generally send someone round to go over security with you. The Police will be keen to catch the shitbags but if when they do and the courts let them down, they are fighting a losing battle. I agree in that selling MT parts isn’t easy an there must be a market for it, so it’s up to us to consider when buying second hand that the item isn’t nicked! As for your gaff I think a set up is in order.
Good luck
2hottieFree MemberI live in Preston otherwise know as Depreston.. anyhow as a town/city it’s ok but does have a large chav population. As for where to live in the city you do have loads of good options just don’t trust the estate agents!. The suggestion of Garstang is good however no trains. Currently there is a large development of the city centre proposed which is great for further job opportunities. However the likes of Stinkpool and Blackburn are kicking up a fuss for the obvious reasons. The benefit of living in Preston is that within say 5minutes drive of the city centre you can be on the motorway or out in the countryside which is great in my book. When I visit my Bro in Manchester it takes around 15-20minutes to do the same thing.
Lancashire as a whole is a great places to live but don’t expect to feature on the national weather on the BBC as they **** always over look the place! This includes Manchester and Liverpool!
If you want further info on the nicer places to live in Preston then drop me an email
Cheers
Scott2hottieFree MemberSimon it was a shame you missed John’s face plant into the stink mud!!! However I did have a great day out and you got a shot of me levitating!
Hopefully out at the weekend
cheers
Scott
2hottieFree MemberGet a better job, or.. put a list up of what you need an you may get more help that way.
2hottieFree MemberBroken wrists hurt like fooook! hope she gets better asap, make sure she does as the doc says, also would strongly suggest getting her some thing like this, http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=3543
I have one and would not go anywhere without. Her wrists will be weak so a re-break can happen very easily even a few months down the line.
Hope she gets better soon

2hottieFree MemberI quit working at the carphone warehouse customer service office due to NOT BEING allowed to help people!!! So when I questioned management about the companies policies and how UNFAIR they were I choose to leave as I couldn’t honestly keep **** the customers over anymore. I was constantly pulled up for giving out vouchers and refunding money due to the companies **** ups but the customer was in fact due said refunds and so on. So when you call into a call centre consider the poor bugger on the other end of the phone who is most likely getting shite from some jumped up little hitler who has no brains or common sense but can suck upper managements member! Put it this way at CPW my bonus was related to how quick I could deal with a call, so when you have a customer who is clearly pissed off but is going to cost you making bonus and in turn rent you may well fob them off which is a real shame. I now hate the idea of a call centre and would much rather deal with a company direct so I can at least see the same person if things go wrong.
2hottieFree MemberI went back after a month on a full sus! how dull an boring are they! yes they are nice and make the trail nice an smooth but so is tarmac! (in most places) so I’m back on a HT which works for me.
2hottieFree MemberAgree with lowey, I was bored all the way round. Shame as it has loads of potential to be great imo It was badly surfaced when I went as the track had turned in to mush so ruined the whole point of a trail centre. An the bike wash is a rip off!
2hottieFree MemberBroke my wrist twice last year, first time playing footie but broke it in the same place going over the bars three weeks after the cast came off. The consultant was very pissed off!!
2hottieFree MemberMy first thought was go when I did my wrist and the second time in less than 3months for that matter! see pic for pain factor. It hurt like ****! get it looked at..
2hottieFree MemberSFB you’ll have to make sure the group you ride with are all in a nice line just like a road biking club… :-)
2hottieFree MemberRusty forgot to say that walking the tracks is cool so have a look that way. Or like me you can run down them pretending to ride..
2hottieFree MemberCheers Rusty enjoy the ride..
Which I was out riding but ‘ve got two exams next weeks so need to revise!!
2hottieFree MemberDh track may well be shut due to the loggers being in. Again would suggest NOT riding the new sections which are still under construction.
2hottieFree MemberJoxster,

http://www.forestofbowland.com/cons_volunteering.asp
The next dig is on the 17th may
2hottieFree MemberPeople who are riding the new tracks at Gisburn forest before they are finished!! I dug out a section at the last dig and when I went back yesterday it was totally trashed taking twice as long to finish. **** selfish if you ask me. There is signs up asking people to stay off for just a couple of weeks to let the trail settle/bed in so why can’t they just wait?? grrrr
I give up time to help dig at the volunteer days and drive 120miles a month to do so hence the frustration when a few ruin all the hard work.
2hottieFree MemberDefrost option on the microwave then pop in the fridge when cooled down, otherwise leave out under cling film so the deforest slowly, either way I doubt you could die eating lamb like this, chicken on the other hand.. **** that… err would say lamb is like beef so you can eat it raw if you wanted?
2hottieFree Member94/95 GT outpost which I bent!!
99 GT zaskar made me ride far too fast crashed alot! sold on due to having no money GUTTED!
Got a 2000 GT tempest frame and built that up to keep me going
Then got a Scott Genius MC 50 frame which I HATED sold that on very quickly
Again due to having no money bought a cheap kona roast HT frame on here an I still ride that now although it has been tricked out with posh shiny stuff. Best bike I’ve had.
2hottieFree MemberStoney that little lady in your pic is riding a Hope Runner!
She could do with some gloves mind..
2hottieFree MemberFull sus, isn’t the way forward for a first bike. Hardtail all the way when starting out. If you have the money to spend the a HT of around £800 should be more than enough, however my suggestion would be a £500 bike from somewhere such as Merlin Cycles as they spec great bikes for the money. You then can upgrade or start to build up your full sus over a period of time but still be riding your HT building on your skills.
I’ve been riding for 14years off road and started on a cheap HT then progressed to a posh HT which I sold to get a full sus which I didn’t get on with. I bought into at the time that 5 travel is the way forward but soon learnt it wasn’t. I then bought a new HT frame an built that up and I ride faster now than I did on the full sus.
It’s upto you really but i would suggest a HT before a FS then sell the HT on in a year or two and you won’t lose to much money.
Good luck.
Ps try as many before you buy
2hottieFree Membercheers M-F I think I’ll be changing my ways now! An my Grand parents who told me how to use the burner!
2hottieFree MemberRob try these people for your sofa,
http://www.sofasofa.co.uk/about-us
They had a great range an mucho cheap!!! paid less than £500 for a 3 seater sofa with a single chair both in leather delivered.
The price for our burner was £700 ish!!
2hottieFree MemberM-F to be honest I’m new to the wood burning game so I think you may well be right, I do however add coal/coke to mine with a log on top so that maybe the difference in heat output?
2hottieFree MemberBought my Samsung washer for £299 in December due to it having a play/pause button on the front. The GF thought this was more user friendly for me. Plays a nice tune when finished too. 6kg drum so plenty big enough
2hottieFree MemberCouple of DVD’s, chocolates nice pair of slippers, dressing gown, take away meal and a nice evening in.
Simples…
2hottieFree MemberWe have the Morso Squirrel in our 120 year old terrace house, however the heat it can give out may not be enough for the house your suggesting. Last winter we found it hard to keep the whole house warm with it however the front room was very toasty. We have put new double glazed windows in and new doors and what a difference! the thing will heat the house but I would go for the multi fuel option as they will burn hotter imo, also use very dry hardwood for the best heat output.
Things to look for are:
The chimney, does it need lining? I would recommend getting a chimney sweep in, to do a smoke test, some are honest however most are not so be warned as some will tell you to get it lined when you don’t need too. Also to watch out for are smoke control zones, we are in one so had to pick the stove to suit. Building control at the council will be able to help. Then getting a certified installer would be good “Hetas” I think. Next up is the chimney pot, in certain conditions this causes the fire to draw the smoke back down the chimney and fill your front room! (this happened to me) You may need a new pot to stop this.
Think that is everything..
2hottieFree MemberI would say a quick sharp hit on the top of the nose with your knuckle. Dogs hate it and our dog doesn’t nip any more.
good luck
2hottieFree MemberI would second the Samsung option. I have one and Im very pleased with it. I went for it due to them making the screens in house unlike some others who buy them in. Would look at LG also.
2hottieFree MemberYour road biking club sounds SH*T!!!!, Im glad I ride mountain bikes..
2hottieFree Membercool, I though Mavic where imported by chickencycles or something like that? As for leisure fall, (due my poor experiences with them) the may have one in the bits box as they most likely forgot to fit it to someones bike.. lol
2hottieFree MemberIIRC, there should be a spacer which sits behind the cassette its only a few mil thick. This would have been provided with the wheels as my bro had the same issue with his(he had the spacer tho). As for where to get a replacement, maybe the importer or your L.B.S. as the spacer has the same cuttings as the freehub body for a tight fit.
good luck
