Ive just changed the oil in a pair of ’05 Marzocchi Z2 Freerides following the instructions here

Mine dont have the ETA, but the principal should be the same, ive put the correct amount of oil in according to the Marz website, they go up and down with that nice squishy sound and the rebound works fine but
they make an annoying knocking sound as i ride, as though the headset is loose, which it isnt!
What have i done wrong to them?
Any help/ advice greatly appreciated

Springs hitting the inside of the stanchions? Was there some sort of plastic sleeve to prevent this? Or is the spring not sitting on its seat properly?
