RIP another great. His last line in Blade Runner is somewhat fitting.

Dang – he scared the heck of me in The Hitcher. 🙁

That’s really sad news, he was always one of my favourite actors, even during dramatic rôles, there was always an underlying humour, Blind Fury especially showed he could mix serious and humour and keep it balanced.
RIP Rutger, gone, like tears in rain. But not forgotten.

Bit of a cult hero. 75 not a massive age.

How sad. 2 of my fave films-Blade Runner and The Hitcher, Rutger made them great. Had a good part in True Blood more recently.
    75 too young

He was also really good in ‘Porters’ on tv recently.
Bizarre seeing him in a tv comedy. A bit like seeing Luke Skywalker as a cafe owner in ‘Man Down’

Talk about commitment to a role. He died in 2019 in Bladerunner too.

I went through a phase of watching films with mental plots in my youth. Blind Fury was one of my favourites alongside Wedlock. Rutger made them both watchable. A fine and underrated actor.

For some reason one of the first “film stars” I remember. Awesome in hitcher, I’ll never forget my bad parents letting me watch that 🤩

I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.

    RIP

A friend of mine got his email somehow and asked him if he would send his girlfriend a message for Xmas since she was a huge fan.
He rang her up on Christmas Eve and chatted to her for ages.
During the conversation she mentioned her favourite poem and the next day he sent her a video of him reading said poem and wishing her a merry Christmas.

I always thought that was a really nice thing for him to do

I was, still am actually obsessed with Bladerunner.

His character is one of the most memorable I’ve ever seen in a film.

    Quite upset to read this.

Wanna see “Hobo With a Shotgun” now

I wouldn’t bother. It’s really not very good.

To be fair, Rutger was the only good thing in it.

It’s just  all the other actors and the story  and the visual effects that aren’t very good.
