Don't suppose anyone has seen these being stocked anywhere? In their wisdom, Sram have made Apex 1 different to the other 1x groupsets and they use an offset* 4-bolt design. In particular I'm after a 38t

*but different to Shimano apparently

These ones? https://www.superstarcomponents.com/en/raptor-chainring-110bcd-asymetric-narrow-wide.htm

I did look at them but the title and description differ slightly (110 v 104 bcd) and there wasn’t enough info to decipher otherwise

I’m very interested in a definite answer to this. I want to put a 40t oval on my new Apex 1 chainset.

I even emailed superstar and they couldn’t tell me what one to go for.

I wonder if this is what the SS description is relating to?

[img] [/img]

If so, looks like a very different pattern

Anyone got the answer? I want to put a 38T on mine but Superstar just sent me a link to all road chainrings when I asked them. I'm still confused.

Doesn't seem to be a 38t available....

I couldn't even find the crank on SRAM website

It’s auowr frustrating that Superstar can’t even answer this themselves. I really want to rub an Oval ring and it looks like I may need to change the entire crankset

Wonder if this is worth an email to Zyro-Fisher (if they respond?)? Total pain in the arse if getting a 38t ring involves buying a new chainset! Would definitely prefer using a smaller ring than having to change the cassette

It may be worth it. None of the well known chainring manufacturers like SS/ Uberbike/ One Up/ absolute black seem to have an answer.

So, according to Superstar themselves the ring needed is a 110bcd Asymetric.

Can't see anything smaller than 42t for Apex 1 on Zyro-Fisher.

Disappointing that SRAM didn't stay with the same 5-bolt pattern as Rival 1 / Force 1.

Wolftooth also do 4 bolt / 110BCD 1x asymetric chainrings but for Shimano cranks, not sure if the pattern is the same as SRAM asymetric?

I have an email from Superstar to say that a 110bcd asymmetric ring is what's required for the SRAM Apex 1, so I assume I am covered for a return should it not fit.

Thank you for contacting ZyroFisher regarding the Sram chainring.

We have spoken with our Sram Technical team and they have advised that we do distribute the product you require as per the below details however as we are only the distributor of trade, for you to be able to purchase the required part you will need to contact your nearest Sram retailer and ask if they have available stock of the below. If they don’t have the available stock they are able to order this in for you and provide you with a lead time.

You can find the details of your nearest stockist by visiting the Find a Retailer section of our website and placing your postcode in the box provided and selecting Sram from the drop down, this will then generate the contact details of the stores.

£72 and they only have one in stock, can't see much of a fight over it at that price. I'd be spending that money on a used crank with a more accommodating bolt pattern (like the Sram Red carbon crank I got off ebay for my CX bike for £70, and flits between 36 and 38T SS NW ring depending on how hilly the course is).

Zyro have now confirmed that there’s no 38t option..... unless you want to buy a new chainset

I’m after one too

Bike components in Germany advised the Shimano type fits (specifically the model from TA Specialites)

Not sure whether to try
Very odd that there is nothing available. The crank is not even included in the 2018 service guide....

Superstar ones are Shimano fit so should also work. Easier than returning to Germany if they don’t

Sram 38t just doesn’t exist. Thinking the only real options are changing cassette, or changing cranks

Slight bump, but did anyone manage to find a suitable 38t or even 36t?

That’s the same price as an Apex crankset......

I ended up going for a 2nd hand 5-arm crank and a Superstar ring. The change cost me £95 all-in and i’m not tied to expensive rings now
