Having just invested in a rather nice Thermos food flask this sort of thing is on the cards. We have the cutters!

Shouldn’t you cut the scones out, then sprinkle with cheese and glaze with milk? That way you can re-roll the offcuts of the dough and cut out a couple more.

@arel Yes that is good advice. Doing it that way you will also get the crispy cheese down the sides.

I take the leftovers, roll again, and glaze + cheese again. No one has ever complained about having too much cheese in anything ever.

…and now I have an overwhelming hankering for cheese scones, when I’m trying to be good.

I just made this. It was more hassle than I would usually give myself in the kitchen, but worth it. Utterly delicious. I confess I put chorizo in the soup as I had some leftover but it was still glorious.
    My scones needed 25mins!

I’ve had this bookmarked since first spotting it, but only finally got around to making it for the first time this evening. My scones needed well over 25 minutes, but that might be my fault for adding extra cheese…

Absolutely delicious. Took a while, but will be doing this again soon – perfect winter food!
